Chris Matthews Gets Pumped Up About ‘Clear Victory’ for Joe Biden in Debate — Poll Tells a Different Story
MSNBC’s Chris Matthews made headlines when he had an on-air meltdown following President Barack Obama’s poor performance in the first presidential debate last week. This week, he was fired up for a different reason – he thinks Vice President Joe Biden won the vice presidential debate in a landslide.
“On the big issues that matter to the people, clear victory to Joe Biden. And that’s why I give it to him. He did what he had to do,” Mathews said.
Here’s the Matthews scorecard:
“On Benghazi, I give that Ryan.
On economics, I give it a draw.
On medicare, all Biden.
On tax fairness, all Biden.
On Afghanistan, another draw.
On Syria, another draw.
Abortion, all Biden.
On the closing, I draw that evening.”
“A clear victory for Joe Biden,” Matthews added.
Watch the clip via MSNBC/Mediaite here:
Meanwhile, a CNN poll shows 48 percent of people who watched the debate thought Ryan won the debate compared to 44 percent who think Biden won. From CNN:
Forty-eight percent of voters who watched the vice presidential debate think that Rep. Paul Ryan won the showdown, according to a CNN/ORC International nationwide poll conducted right after Thursday night’s faceoff. Forty-four percent say that Vice President Joe Biden was victorious. The Republican running mate’s four point advantage among a debate audience that was more Republican than the country as a whole is within the survey’s sampling error.
Additionally, a number of political pundits slammed Biden for being disrespectful during the debate. The vice president was seen smiling, laughing and interrupting throughout the night while Ryan tried to talk.
Fox News anchor Chris Wallace said his behavior was “unprecedented” in presidential and vice presidential debates. Fox News analyst Charles Krauthammer said Biden was “hugely condescending.”
Twitter also exploded with criticism for Biden’s rude attitude towards Ryan.
RNC Chair Reince Priebus told Fox News on Thursday that they counted 82 times that Biden interrupted Paul Ryan.

Posted on October 12, 2012 at 12:50amThe problem I seen is not the fact Paul Ryan’s flag was bigger, it’s how he used it, plus from what I heard from the Biker Chick who sat on Joe’s lap, his flag was happy to see her, but it only felt like he had a tootsie roll in his pocket. J
oe took a viagra, and unfortuntely had a erection that lasted over 4 hours, the only problem is, it took the doctor 5 hours to find it.

Posted on October 12, 2012 at 12:39ami thought Ryan could have been a little less technical and a bit more aggressive and a tad more emotional.
Paul’s got to remember he is addressed the sheeple of America who’ve been duped by liberal sensationalism. He hit a home run when he accused Biden of using scare tactics to deter American voters away from the Romney/Ryan ticket, but unfortunately once people become scared, it’s hard for them to become “unscared”. Why do you think the Obama admin has downplayed the embassy attacks? Because he knows if the public were scared, he’d lose support. Instead he and Biden would rather divert the “scare” to “women’s rights” and “squeezing the middle class”.
I am VERY surprised at the CNN poll result though. I thought Ryan won, but could have EASILY seen how people would have given the victory to Biden based on his “vigor”. Maybe there’s hope for us after all!

Posted on October 12, 2012 at 12:39amAt a superficial level, it will be spun as a victory for Biden. However, if you are looking at someone who is supposed to be able to run the country is the absence of the President I would’nt want “The Joe-ker” Anywhere near the big red button.
The “victory” reminds me of the Iraqi Information Minister in the Gulf War saying there are no US Tanks in Bagdad. Just as an about ten came sceaming past!. Wait for the Political Tanks.

Posted on October 12, 2012 at 11:25amIn order to have a deate on substance the parties have to be credible. One credible person can not make a credible debate. I can’t bring myself to believe a single word Joe says. Is he a liar? Yep! Like his boss? Yep! Like all progressives? Yep! Think we can trust the fact checkers? Nope! Just call me a Cynic.
