Have You Seen This Waterproof Bible That Can Survive Mud, Water & Harsh Climates?

U.S. soldiers who are serving abroad — particularly in unfriendly climates — have come to know a unique version of the Holy Bible that stands both the test of time and the oft-times harsh elements. The “Waterproof Bible New Testament With Psalms and Proverbs” is a highly recommended tool by Christian ministries who work with servicemen and women — but it’s also one that the general public can use as well.

An official description of the Bible promises that it can be used “wherever life takes you,” while pledging that it’s safe to read at the beach, pool, while camping and even boating. While these are the more pleasant localities to which one might bring the waterproof holy book, as stated, it is also beneficial for individuals serving abroad.

Some images posted on the company’s web site showcase just how extreme conditions can get, with the book still remaining protected and in tact.

Christian Retailing has more bout the Bible that is considered a top resource for military personel at Military Ministry (part of Cru):

Soldiers and chaplains have used the Waterproof Bible since 2006. “Thank you for producing such a Bible that I’m sure will withstand the harsh Afghanistan climate,” an Army chaplain wrote to Bardin & Marsee before deploying earlier this year. A soldier said the Waterproof Bible ”helps me redeem those little fragments of time throughout the day by reading God’s Word.”

Bardin & Marsee also recently partnered with the Norwegian Bible Society to produce a military chaplain’s waterproof devotional titled På Patrulje Soldatens Andaktsbok and with Bible Society New Zealand to publish a custom NLT (New Living Translation) New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs for the New Zealand Defence Force.

Based in Birmingham, Ala., and started in 2005, Bardin & Marsee Publishing offers the Waterproof Bible in nine languages and five English translations—NIV, NLT, English Standard Version, New King James Version and King James Version.

Here’s a video showing the Bible surviving a rain storm:

With technology often comes the ability to innovate and for products to meet people wherever they are. In this instance, the synthetic pages and the durable nature of the Bible provide a tool that can be used in harsh climates, around water and in other scenarios that are less-than-friendly to traditional books.

Yes, but the real question is can it withstand the Progressive Liberals and their zeal to destroy Christianity?

That’s interesting, but beyond military applications, I don’t see much use for one.

Just print more bibles, quantity over quality.

I could use one in my truck getting kicked about, leaving my window open during rain, (like last night) getting muddy from a long day on the trail, in the boat while fishing long hours, in the blind all day.

Just rinse and read sounds like civilians could find some uses for a durable Bible.

This is AWESOME! Im so excited that we are able to provide this to our military. As a bible student myself, i dont know what i would do if i couldnt have a Bible with me at all times. Maybe we should spend our tax dollars on this instead of wasiting it on vacations.. just a thought.

I would like to see Bible that were made as indestructible as possible. Think of the anger Muslims and others would experience when trying to destroy it. They would have to give up in seething rage. It woud be fun to watch.

I just went over to their site, and I see that they are offering “New Testament Psalms and Proverbs” version? Who these people think they are offering an incomplete Bible? God warned us not to do this. It is not up to us to suggest what Scripture might be more or less important. ESPECIALLY dicing up the Old testament where in all manuscripts correlate at a nearly perfect 99.5%. Buy from these people at your own peril…

    How about:
Deut 4:2 “You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you. ”

Deut 12:32 “Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do. You shall not add to it or take from it.”

Rev 22:19 “and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.”

Deut 4:2 “You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you. ”

Deut 12:32 “Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do. You shall not add to it or take from it.”

But wasn’t this done with anything that came after Deuteronomy? People no LONGER do “everything that was commanded”.

Regardless, if these help a soldier get through the day, what does it matter if it is “incomplete”?

      @Devonreye

“I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.” Matthew 5:18

Now that isn’t to say Christians are under the law, but that it doesn’t just disappear. Also, both Jesus and his apostles quoted the Old Testament prophets frequently, especially Isaiah.

Where I don’t agree with much of the biblical texts, . . . .I support this type of bible for those soldiers who DO use it to get them through their service time. There can be words of comfort in there, particularly the Psalms. If it gets them through it, then I’m for whatever “gives them strength to get them home safe”.

That IS cool, but it would be better if the entire Old Testament were included, as well. One can’t fully understand the New without the Old, and vice versa.

In reality they can make it almost indestructible but the cost would be greatly increased.

I own one and is great when I am camping with the Boy Scouts and Royal Rangers. The down side is the retail price of 50 bucks and the weight of nearly 3 pounds! A bit heavy for backpacking. It is totally waterproof, and the pages will not tear easily. I will not buy another, probably, because the version I read is no longer available (NIV 1984). But I don’t think this bible will ever wear out anyway. I am hoping for a New Testament so I can have a lighter version to pack into the woods.

As the last four years have seen an increase in hostility toward the Christian faith, a waterproof Bible will also be helpful when we have to bury it in the backyard to hide it from the Democrats and their atheist and secular humanist followers.

They need the blank book made of this material so the Christian version of the Diary of Ann Frank can be written on it when we are all hiding from our own government! Only Kidding…I hope.
