Retired Special Forces Sgt. Layne Morris Blasts Obama Over Gitmo Detainee Omar Khadrs Transfer Back to Canada

A retired U.S. Special Forces sergeant is blasting President Barack Obama over the transfer of a Guantanamo Bay detainee who pleaded guilty to killing a U.S. soldier.

Omar Khadr, 26, was returned to Canada last month to await parole after spending 10 years behind bars at Guantanamo. He received an eight-year sentence after he was convicted in 2010 of throwing a grenade that killed 28-year-old Army Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Speer in 2002, when Khadr was 15.

Khadr, the son of an alleged Al-Qaeda financier, was both Guantanamo Bay’s youngest prisoner and its last Western detainee when he was sent back to his native Canada to serve out the rest of his sentence as he awaits parole, which could come as early as spring 2013.

Retired Army Special Forces Sgt. Layne Morris, who lost sight in one eye during the firefight that killed Speer, called Khadr’s release “an outrage.”

“This is somebody who is a demonstrated, committed and unrepentant terrorist. Why do you want to turn this man loose?” Morris told Canada’s Sun News Friday. “If he was just a common criminal, he’d be doing most of his life behind bars. Why, why would anybody be so anxious to get this man loose?”

Morris accused Obama, who once promised to close Guantanamo Bay, of having merely “changed tactics” in “emptying it out any way he can.”

“President Obama declared, you know, on day one that job one was to close Guantanamo,” Morris said. “He has been thoroughly thwarted in that effort by the U.S. Congress. But I think the American people assumed that he had given up on that effort. But I think he’s just changed tactics, and rather than close Guantanamo he’s simply emptying it out in any way he can do that. And Omar Khadr is the perfect case.”

He and his terrorist family are allowed to stay here due to the loud intervention of bleeding heart liberals in Canada. He and his terrorist family hold the country in contempt and use and have used it as a safe haven to support and participate in terrorist activities around the world. He is not welcome here and should be sent along with his terrorist family, back to whatever hell hole they came from to reap their whirl wind. Canada is not their home. American diplomats pressured the canadian government to get the job done. Liberal’s applaud this in canada.   As long as Harry Reid remains in control in the Senate, there is absolutely NOTHING that can be done about Obamao. Harry Reid controls the keys to what comes up for a vote on the floor of the Senate and he’ll NEVER allow his boy Obamao to be brought up on impeachment charges. Even if the Dems fail to steal the election through fraud, Reid will do everything in his power to protect Obamao through inauguration day, and expect Obamao to be signing illegal executive orders by the ream. I wouldn’t even put it past him to sign an executive order declaring the election invalid and installing himself as dictator until such time as a “more socially just” Constitution can be developed and instituted with anyone in DC opposing his actions facing arrest for treason by his “civilian defense corps” which has recruiting targeted toward urban street gangs and juvenile delinquents. PLEASE have everyone you know read the “Civilian Defense Corps” section of the GIVE Act on Thomas.gov. The law specifically states they intend to aim recruiting at urban youth, juvenile delinquents and “former” street gang members. Does that sound like the people you want to give advanced tactical training and automatic weapons to for use in the US? The psych profile is the perfect one for a Gestapo or SS trooper.

I’m always amazed by those whom, having seen their wishes denied, resort to personal attacks with no knowledge as to why a certain was decided.

Were any of you a fly on the wall when Canada and the United States decided to let this man serve the remainder of his time in Canada, no, but you have s strong opinion based on what… a personal prejudice?

He was ‘allowed’ to be captured and transferred to Gitmo,a place that Obama was prevented from closing because a Republican Congress refused to fund the transfer of all Gitmo prisoner to maximum prisons here in the United States! You aren’t aware of that little ditty because you are so wrapped up in finding a reason to hate Obama!

  !st off I’m Canadian.. WE don’t want him back here, we don’t want him out on parole, but unfortunately we (citizens have no say in it. The transfer was one under an agreement with the USA regarding repatriating prisoners.
  You are the one who needs to get informed. Read up on the Khadr family. All of them, ALL of them are comitted Jihadists. Omar was raised in inculcated in Jiahdist hatred of the west his entire life, He embraced, and still embraces Jihad. trust me America has not heard the last of him.
  
  Now for Obama wanting to move Gitmo detainees to the USA , for what reason? I would argue that Obama wants to get them to civilian courts, get them all the protections that civil court will give them even though they were soldiers in a war against America, and not enitled to such rights. How have civilian courts worked so far?
  Obama and Holder have been extermely soft on Jihadism .. The Ft Hood shooting has been classified as “work place violence”.   EAST, I know you are only joking around. I’ve had several opportunities to work with the Canadian military starting with their arrival in Hohenfels, Germany for training, then the following year in Grafenwohr. And, again while stationed at Ft Drum, NY. Being only about thirty miles south of the border I drove up into Canada a number of times while stationed there. Thoroughly enjoyed visiting and had great times.

Before any violent criminal is released , some one name should be placed on a file and if, or probably when the criminal injures or kills another victim, ( not when they jaywalk) the person who made the final release decision should have to serve the rest of the perps sentence. Imagine if we had defense lawyers for Nazis during WW II, we wouldn’t have been able to defeat them.
That’s the whole point of this exercise with the hand wringing about these terrorists ‘rights’,they were caught on the battlefield and that’s the problem they shouldn’t have been caught. In our last real war you killed the enemy until they surrender,I haven’t seen a white flag in over ten years.

  There were some who did get some trial lawyers assigned to a group of seven Nazi saboteurs captured basically as they landed in something of an intelligence coups. They were tried in a federal civil court and found guilty. The only thing that saved them from being executed as spies is that they wore their issue headgear while in swim trunks as they rafted in from a U boat.

  Hey PROG, I was just reading my post, and I can see that I did not make my point clear. During the capture of these guys there was a big stink made apparently by attorneys and those who were seen as liberals back then. Although captured I believe by the Navy, the prisoners were removed from the military and the case was handled by the civil courts. They were given a **** load of free attorneys too.
  I recall another case where an American born German whose family returned to Germany I believe when he was about eleven or twelve. He was filtered back into his home town of Chicago with a handful of others to act also as saboteurs. When captured by the military he and his fellow Nazis were also removed to civil authorities. All based on the complaints that the one man was an American and was protected by his civil rights. How that covered the other four I’ll never know. At least our populace was more sane back then, and when found guilty, this group was executed as spies.
