Hillary Clinton: I Take ‘Full Responsibility’ for Security Before Benghazi Attack

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told CNN on Monday she takes “full responsibility” for the security failures at the U.S. consulate in Libya where a terrorist attack by radical Islamists last month killed U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. However, she is blaming the inconsistent stories that came out of the Obama administration on the “fog of war,” Fox News reports.

Pushing back against Republican criticism of the Obama administration for its handling of the situation, Clinton said Monday in Lima, Peru, that security at all of America’s diplomatic missions abroad is her job, not that of the White House. The remarks seem to back up Vice President Joe Biden’s claims that he and President Obama didn’t know the Consulate requested additional security.

In television interviews, Clinton said she is responsible for State Department security and “for the more than 60,000 people around the world.” She told Fox News that “the decisions about security are made by security professionals.” She also made similar comments to CNN about taking responsibility.

“I can’t speak to who knew what…We knew there were security breaches and problems throughout Libya. That’s something that came about as the aftermath of the revolution to topple Qaddafi, with so many militias formed, so many weapons loose,” she told Fox News. “It was taken into account by security professionals as they made their assessments.”

  The Clintons really hope Obama loses this election. She’s put in the spot of falling on her sword but she really doesn’t want this to be the reason the Dem ticket goes down. Too bad she can’t channel Harry Truman the way she got advice from Eleanor Roosevelt about what the “buck stops here” really means..
  It is Obama’s fault because he is in full campaign mode and stopped being President months ago. He takes the easy way out giving “recycled” 2008 campaign speeches between rounds of golf. And God forbid anything should ever be HIS fault.

  Whatever her plans are, we don’t need a woman as president. No Clinton, no Palin, no Bachmann, etc. Women can’t prioritize responsibilities as well as men can. I know you think it’s sexist but there are just some things that men do better. I’m glad women have accomplished what they have but, to me, this position should be off limits. Plus, Obama is a feminine guy and look where that got us……

  For what I have read, heard and watched, Clinton takes responsibility. She says she is responsible for almost 60K people around the world. But, what does it mean? Is somebody going to loose her/his job?
  I really don’t think so. As Rush Limbaugh has said, this is bigger than Watergate, but since the democrats are in charge, what the heck! Stevens is dead, nothing can be done to reverse it.
  The question no one in this administration is answering is: who was in charge of the INSECURITY of USA embassy in Libya.
  Clinton says “the decisions about security are made by security professionals.” So she is blaming somebody else, right?
  She is going to blow “fog” on the matter and pretend nobody knows, at least until Nov. 6th.

  If it comes to a “no confidence” vote in November Romney’s bound to win for sure. How can Hillary make this sort of confession and just pass it off as haze or what ever the he77 she called it!?
  
  I feel the same way I did about this as I did about Obama when he kept us waiting 5 minutes for a response on the Fort Hood Shootings (IE: Terriorist attack) to give a shout out to the medicine man. These people are from another world and it has noting to do with righteousness and or justice.

  Women are more likely to make bad decisions based off of emotion when put into positions of power. Women, from a biological standpoint, have a motherly instinct and they would be more likely to put more government regulations, cap and trade, and a stranglehold on our economy & resources. We have no women candidates on either side of the political spectrum that are bright enough to be the leader in the free world. Think about all of the cultures around the world where women are subservient to men. World leaders – especially Muslims – would not respect a woman president and it would make America look weaker than it already is now. Yes, here in America we’re emphasizing diversity but the rest of the world looks down on women. Don’t blame me, that’s just the way it is.

  WHEN this disaster was taking place, the consulate was talking with their superiors here in the US. In any other past administration, at that moment, POTUS would not only have been notified, but would have personally become involved and stayed involved right through to the conclusion. And yes, that does include George W. Bush, whom this administration has been referring to negatively for four years. What is so appalling and is so obvious to the people of this country, is that our current Commander-In-Chief, Barack Obama, to this day still doesn’t have a complete handle on what happened that night. What is so sad is that citizens of the past would have been up in arms. Apparently we have become so numbed by this current White House occupant’s incompetence that no one is demanding his impeachment for neglect of duty.

  It’s about damn time someone in this corrupt administration took some responsibility for allowing an attack on our government facilites and personnel. (Close enough anyway.)
  
  For future reference, if anyone ever attacks a U.S. embassy again for every person they injure or kill we take out ten of their folks and level a few key buidings with cruise missiles. We also make very sure that the Marines manning those facilites are locked and loaded internally and have all the outside support they need as well. It won’t be long before the OPFOR will think twice about attacking anything with the “Stars and Stripes” flying above it.
  
  We have become so soft on the OPFOR because of political correctness. Screw that! It’s time to put the “Super” back in Super Power – even if it is through fear. Eliminating an enemy means we no longer have a problem with that group. Kill them – next! Win, or get the hell out of the fight.
  
  Now, Clinton should resign and go away. Then next month we should all fire King Obummer and try to save this nation as fast as we can.
  
  We really need a President with some b***s and business savvy to get this country back on track militarily and otherwise.

  The Obama administration is set to self-destruct. Being associated with him is reaching toxic levels, and even I must admit she’s done a lot in 4 years as Sec. of State. Hillary has her eyes on 2016. If Obama gets a second term but goes down in flames, she doesn’t want to be tainted by that.   Attacks going on for hours, this was never mentioned in any official accounts. What she is really saying is the administration is not as dense as they want you to think.   OK so she is taking responsibility for the lack of security BEFORE the attack, Who is going to take ownership of the inadequate response DURING the attack?
  
  Don’t forget that this attack lasted for 6 HOURS and they (the administration, DoD, State dept. etc.) had real-time audio and video coming from the consulate.
  They knew that these Americans desperately needed help, yet they decided to let these animals slaughter them. I want to know who is going to own that.

Like I said earlier, voting a woman to be president would make the other world leaders see our country as weak and inferior. With Sharia Law becoming more popular in the Middle East, do you really think leaders in the Middle East would even give a woman president the time of day? It’s not that I’m chauvinistic, I’m just realistic.

stuff I read this week on line.. by accident…that said: 1) Hillary had one night stand with Arafat and Chelsea was result – possible according to portrait painter(s) I know; 2) Obama met OBL several times in the 80′s in Pakistan (Packeee-Staun as dopo says) and was quite taken with him/his cause/and suggest that it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the guy who got killed was “Body Double” and the REAL OBL is hanging out to “REAPPEAR” Messiah-like for the Muslims.. I mean, body in sea? No DNA? No Dental records? ?? Who knows? Aren’t those weird ideas ‘out there’ ???

  The Overton Window’s money is on the “She stays” option. Just as it was a dark day for America in the Monica-gate era it is again a even graver dark day in the Benghazi-gate era.
  
  Dear Lord now more than ever forgive our sins and come and rescue this Nation and your Covenant for both America and Isreal from these villians. I’ll fast and pray this on my knees tonight. On my knees! If not for our sake but only for the sake of Your Glory and Covenant make the work of the devil through these evil agents null and void for they will if allowed inflate their immaginations way beyond what the agents in the days of the tower of Babel were hoping to vainly strive to make Your Word null and void! So…if she’s claiming responsibility, why isn’t she resigning? Oh right cause in the liberal mindset claiming responsibility has no repercussions. So if no one is getting fired over the death of a US ambassador, what would someone get fired over in the Obama administration?
