‘Send Him Back to Chicago — Or Kenya’: Campaign for Wis. Candidate for U.S. Senate Apologizes for Son’s Obama Joke

The campaign for U.S. Senate hopeful from Wisconsin Tommy Thompson apologized Wednesday morning for comments made by the candidates son at GOP event in the state.

The event occurred on Sunday where Jason Thompson cracked a joke relating to President Obama’s birth.

“We have the opportunity to send President Obama back to Chicago — or Kenya,” he says in an edited video of the remarks posted on YouTube that opens with non-controversial statements made by GOP Chairman Reince Priebus:

BuzzFeed reports the comment made from a woman in the audience is “we are taking donations for that Kenya trip.”

According to a statement emailed to BuzFeed, “The Governor has addressed this with his son, just like any father would do. Jason Thompson said something he should not have, and he apologizes.”

Thompson is the former governor of Wisconsin and also the former secretary of Health and Human Services. He currently trails his Democratic opponent by only three points.

If a birth certificate joke is the worst thing Tommy Thompson can possibly say, then I guess that calling Mr. Obama a post-colonial revolutionary isn’t so bad after all.

  There is nothing wrong with saying send Obama back to Kenya other than we don’t know if his father was indeed Kenyan & not really Frank Marshall Davis.
  
  Tthere is so much we don;lt know about Obama. there is the Connecticut Social Security # 7 other things.

  Apology and explanations are a mistake. Sick to death of the enforced correct speak. The only way it will ever stop is if people refuse to play along and stop bowing down like Obama to Saudi kings. Freedom means remarks can be offensive, those offended should be the ones to discuss the merits of the remark, not silence speech.

WHAT is wrong with the statements the young man made? Do we KNOW for a fact that Gaybama is a US BORN citizen? Statements by those who know either beg to differ or clam up. This is akin to McCain firing staff for saying Gaybama’s middle name!

Get over it! The fact is, we may not know the truth about Gaybama until long after he’s thrown out of office in Nov.

Yes we do know for a fact that Obama is a US born citizen, you can see his BC online or even by a mug of it if you like. But since you are more likely unemployed sitting in yor moms basement with a tin foil hat on facts dont matter much to you. So vote Romney and have a nice life.   We DO NOT know for a FACT that oblama is a Natural Born Citizen! If you have evidence, I think the oblama campaign would like to see it. There are many questions regarding his birth – including his Connecticut SS number. It is interesting to me that progressives accuse the right of what they engage in ~ so how’s is Mom’s basement?

Well, it’s really up to Obama when it comes to relocating after he is voted out of the WH. We’re still waiting for his academic records (admissions info) to be released. Was he admitted as a foreign student or not. Simple question, isn’t it? I guess it’s taking all of this time to falsify that information or he’s paying a whole lot of money to keep those records sealed.

If that is his son in the clip it appears to me he is well above the age of 18 making him a legal adult. So Tommy Thompson you are no better than Obama and the Democrats that wish to violate the Constitutional rights of an adult. In fact, given the long history, especially the reason for the creation of the Republican party in the 1800s your censure of an adult is despicable.

The woman from the audience made the comment; Jason simple directly responded to her statement. What’s the problem? oBUMa HAS family and/or friends in BOTH Kenya and Chicago so why would ANYONE be surprised if he goes to either Kenya or Chicago when we BOOT HIM OUT next month? The problem must be that every time a TRUE statement is made that the radical lefties CAN’T DISPUTE with any FACTS, they cry ‘foul’ for whatever reason! November 6th can’t come soon enough for me. Our nation will show these lefties we will NOT settle for governing AGAINST the WILL of the MAJORITY!   that statement is ,as a joke, tastefully funny and as a statement, seems very factual. he has ties to both places. I do not understand the furor and the need for an apology.   Don’t forget what his legal name really is. We have no proof that his name was LEGALLY changed to Soetoro by his stepfather. Was he legally adoped ?
  When he attended Occidental and Columbia and Harvard, he “used” the name Soetoro and was classified as a foreign exchange student. When he was on the Harvard Law Review, in print it stated that he was “born in Kenya”.
  When he “took” the name of his father and started using B.H.Obama, were actual legal papers filed for a legal name change ? If so, where are they ? Oh, I suppose those legal papers are SEALED along with all of his other history.
  Another interesting point to ponder is – when he was illegitimately born (his father was currently married to his second wife), and his certificate of birth in Hawaii was, according to Barry and the White House, recorded, it was NOT the norm to “use” the father’s last name. At that period of time,
  the mother’s last name would have been recorded because he was illegitimate. It just might be that
  because he was illegitimate and the last name on his birth certificate was “Dunham”, that his birth certificate was not released to the public and a doctored-up copy was released to shut people up.
  No matter what his name was at the time and what name is on the certificate, the real question is
  “What is his LEGAL NAME ?”
  There is a President in the White House and legally we do NOT have PROOF of what his legal name is.
  For the history books, could we clear this up ?
