Why Are Islamists Blocking Child Sex Trafficking Laws From Egypt’s New Constitution?

Muhammad Saad Al-Azhari, an Islamist member of Egypt’s constitutional assembly, took to Al-Nas TV recently to give his opinion on the controversy surrounding the creation of Egypt’s new, post-Arab Spring constitution.

Though it was said that the Egyptian revolution would lead to greater freedom and democracy, the country’s Christians and more secular citizens are becoming increasingly isolated as the Islamists in the constitutional assembly gain more and more power– and Al-Azhari is one of those Islamists.

Speaking with sympathetic television personality Sheikh Khaled Abdallah, Al-Azhari explained why he is against rules outlawing sex trafficking and domestic abuse.

Watch the stunning video, via the Middle East Media Research Institute, in which he and the host rationalize child marriage, rape, and wife-beating:

Azhari began with sex trafficking laws, saying they could conflict with the culture of marrying girls off at the age of 9, or whenever they hit puberty.

“The important thing is that the girl is ready and can tolerate marriage,” he explained.

He then protested laws protecting women from violence, warning: “If your wife claims that you were intimate with her without her consent, it will be considered rape…”

He added: “If you have full sexual relations with your wife against her will, she will be able to file a complaint against you.”

Abdallah looked disgusted by the prospect, saying “that’s where things are headed.”

The television host concluded the interview:

The people of Egypt should know what those secularists are trying to do…”Child protection” means that if your child goes astray, you cannot discipline him, beat him, or even say a word to him, or else he might call 911 like they do in America.

Your wife will act insolently, and you won’t be able to say a word to her. Forget about your manhood. If you dare to say anything to her, she will call the police on you. They want to exclude the Islamists from formulating the constitution, and do things that contradict the shari’a and the teachings of our Prophet. Go ahead.

Religion sent Jesus to the cross, therefore, religion comes in many forms. This religion, Islam, is much older than Christianity. Christianity nearly smothered Islam after Christ’s death as righteousness spread around the world. That righteousness has now been smothered by wickedness and immorality. Jealousy and hatred, masqueraded within Islam for a long period of time, has now reared it’s ugly head to coincide with wickedness and immorality. You see, Islam only grows when watered and fed by the seed of immorality and wickedness.

We, who now have no control over world events, are caught in the crossfire between global acts of good and evil. It all sounds like a fairytale EVEN as we WATCH it play out every single day of our lives.

Tomorrow’s headlines are written in the Bible today whether you want to accept them or not. Choose you this day whom you will serve and be content in that choice. Personally I am thankful to have been chosen by God to be living during this period of history. Have read the Bible and know the future. I do not know when the trumpet of God will cease time, however I do know that everything… and I mean everything… is currently lining up just as the Bible states.

Keep your eyes on Israel, God’s timepiece. She is now encompassed about by enemy and in the news EVERY SINGLE DAY. ISRAEL IS THE KEY!

  Muhammad was born centuries after Christ and the first Christians. He was the founder of the Islamic religion.
  
  …or are you referring to the much older pagan religions Islam took inspiration from in Persian and Arabian mythology? Moon traditions and the like. Those aren’t even Islam and represent earlier religions.

Islam is a made up religion like any other cult, by a man who wanted to justify marrying a 6 yera old and thighing her until she was nine and he couldn’t take it any more so he started “having relations” with her. They treat women worse than even Christians did in the first century. Christians are the ones who started the women’s movement. The only reason the get a bad rap is because they think the man is the head of the spiritual household and don’t let a woman preach. Where are the women of this region that love their children so much they would to fight for their welfare, not their martyrdom? Has the constitution allowed men to beat the will to live from their bodies? I am unable to comprehend, even as uneducated these women are reported to be, that together they cannot rise up against these sociopaths. At 9 years old I was still riding a bicycle and climbing trees. No, marriage is never an option for any child, regardless of ‘region’, ‘culture’, or ‘religion’. Any woman who has been molested as a child feels the pain these girls obviously endure as a 9 (or 10, or 11) year old wife. This is violently wrong. It makes me angry and sick.
Do not expect USA citizens to understand your society, especially when you have declared our country as unfit, and do not expect us to honor your laws within our government, the two will never mesh.

  What it boils down to IMHO is that islam is the antithesis of Christianity. You may not like that but it is true. It’s the old Love vs. Hate, God vs. satan, Good vs. Bad.. Tolerance vs. Intolerance etc.

  I don’t know exactly how the comments are moderated/reported here at The Blaze, but I doubt that Erica has a hand in it. Considering that she is responsible for writing this story exposing the abhorrent behavior of the Muslim Brotherhood, I would bet that Mrs. Ritz is actually one of the good guys.
  
  No, I would actually be more inclined to believe that CAIR and/or the DNC have operatives monitoring this site and others for stories like this one. When they spot one, they will either troll up the comments section or call in their cohorts to descend upon it en masse to report and have removed any comments which might damage their narrative.

  By the way, moderate Muslims, if you don’t like being lumped in with the “extremists” within your ranks, then perhaps you should begin speaking out against them as loudly and vehemently as you do against persecution by Western “infidels.”

I have seen this video before, and it is one of the reasons that I am so vocal about calling out the “moderates” who like to argue the whole “religion of peace” nonsense, all the while condoning through silence the most disgusting behavior of the radicals among them.
