President Obama Had a Lot of Negative Things to Say About Romney, But Not Much to Say About These Three Charts
President Barack Obama during Tuesday’s debate had plenty of negative things to say about former Gov. Mitt Romney, but very little to say in regards to the nation’s jobs gap, our national debt, or falling competitiveness.
Here’s the president’s economic plan in his own words:
Romney Doesn’t Care About Detroit
AP
Number one, I want to build manufacturing jobs in this country again. Now when Governor Romney said we should let Detroit go bankrupt. I said we’re going to bet on American workers and the American auto industry and it’s come surging back.
I want to do that in industries, not just in Detroit, but all across the country and that means we change our tax code so we’re giving incentives to companies that are investing here in the United States and creating jobs here.
It also means we’re helping them and small businesses to export all around the world to new markets.
Teachers, Teachers, Teachers, Teachers
AP
Number two, we’ve got to make sure that we have the best education system in the world. And the fact that you’re going to college is great, but I want everybody to get a great education and we’ve worked hard to make sure that student loans are available for folks like you, but I also want to make sure that community colleges are offering slots for workers to get retrained for the jobs that are out there right now and the jobs of the future.
More clean energy!
AP
Number three, we’ve got to control our own energy. Now, not only oil and natural gas, which we’ve been investing in; but also, we’ve got to make sure we’re building the energy source of the future, not just thinking about next year, but ten years from now, 20 years from now. That’s why we’ve invested in solar and wind and biofuels, energy efficient cars.
Fair share
AP
We’ve got to reduce our deficit, but we’ve got to do it in a balanced way. Asking the wealthy to pay a little bit more along with cuts so that we can invest in education like yours.
And let’s take the money that we’ve been spending on war over the last decade to rebuild America, roads, bridges schools. We do those things, not only is your future going to be bright but America’s future is going to bright as well.
Simply put, we need to tax the wealthy, hire more teachers, invest in more “green” energy, and hire more teachers.
“That’s it, really. I mean, good heavens, if those are the answers, ‘How should America deal with its structural economic problems and create jobs?’ can’t possibly be the questions,” writes AEI’s James Pethokoukis.
Sadly, those are the questions.
As Pethokoukis reminds us, the president’s plan to fix the economy is eerily similar to Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner telling Rep. Paul Ryan: “We’re not coming before you to say we have a definitive solution to that long-term problem. What we do know is we don’t like yours.”
How so?
Well, did the president say anything about how he would address the jobs gap?
Additional Image Credit: AEI (red text)
No. Did the president have anything to say about the economic growth gap?
Not so much. Did the president address the budget gap?
Not really.
Based on the things not mentioned in his agenda, it doesn’t seems like the president has a solution for our economy. He just knows he doesn’t like Romney’s.

Why don’t you Mr. President? Like your old mouth piece Mr Gibbs was saying about my tax return, where I paid over $1,000,000 in taxes and gave over $4,000,000 to charity, when you have something to hide you change the subject. The American people are waiting! We’d love to see your grade if you took one of those classes but the majority of the American people already have a good idea of how you faired based on your results the past four years.

Furthermore, I’m curious as to his answer to the lady who ask President Obama, what he would do about equal pay for women. He responded that he could understand how tough it was for women because HIS mother also raised TWO children as a single working parent. UH? What sibling from his mother’s womb did President Obama grow up with? I know he has many half brothers and sisters from his father’s side of the family, but was under the impression that he was the only child born to his mother! Where is the brother or sister that he was raised with while his mother was a single caregiver to them? When he attended school in Indonesia, there are no stories of a brother or sister being born to his birth mother that resided with her and Mr. Soetoro. He was registered as Barry Soetoro, and known as Barry, before he picked back up his father’s name of Barrack Obama. I don’t recall their ever being listed a sibling his mother had while married to Mr. Soetoro. This President, confuses me to no ends!

As we discussed the debate and the question on Libya I noted that is was strange how Candy Crowley had the “transcript” of the rose garden speech handy. Some have not come up so I’m just going to say that I think Romney won the debate, and the graphs prove Obama has a failed policy history that he cannot run on. The one thing I noticed that irritated me in the debate was Obama constantly trying to slam Romney over his wealth, implying he didn’t pay enough taxes, or that he has business in China. Obama is & always wanted distribution of wealth. He hates the capitalism he claims to support. The media will remain biased. Even my local paper reviewed the debate, & printed many of Obama’s accusations against Romney, however they neglected some of Romney’s best rebuttals to the President. I was especially impressed when Obama attacked Romney about his wealth as usual, and any ties with China. He didn’t expect Romney to come back with Obama’s investments in China in his pension plans. Obama is now a millionaire, yet he only makes $400,000 a year as President. Michelle has come along way from the way she dressed when he was running for President. She claimed her clothes came from regular stores and even some thrift stores. Funny how her thriftiness changed when clothes went to being made only by the best designers, & the highest priced. They went after John Edwards for a $400 dollar haircut, wonder about Michelle? Michelle is a beautiful woman now, but go back to the election days & read the black editorials first, then the white. Posted on October 17, 2012 at 11:02pmMore Green Energy!!!!!!!!!!!A second green energy company filed (bankrupt) hours before the debate yesterday. Everyone know that millions of stimulus money, went to green energy, and a lot was wasted, and still is being lost. The Volt many problems, electrical fires, no one can afford the darn cars in this economy even with tax credit, and cash for clunkers. Wind mills that are being shut down because EPA doesn’t want the birds fling into them and getting killed. Cars that look like boxes, small, ugly, and I have not seen many safety rating on them.Electric or not, if an old Fury, Cadillac, Pickup-truck, or Humvee hits you, you have to be having an after death experience. God forbid you run into a Big Rig—you would be smashed like a bug. I heard the interview with Harmon I believe, from England, and one of his questions was how does America plan to survive burning it’s food for fuel (ethanol)? I can’t blame that one on this administration, but I can blame them for not stopping it with threats of famine. Not just worries in America, but around the world food shortages. It’s really very simple, these may all be good ideas, but to try and completely stop our development of our own fossil fuels is just crazy. You don’t do everything you can to stop, or slow that down until all of the others are well up and running. Mr. Obama has 206 clean coal companies going bankrupt at the first of the year. They cannot afford the higher regulations. Romney is right. See Energy Voter.co

Posted on October 17, 2012 at 10:34pmAs with everything else, Mr. Obama takes credit for single handily saving the car industry in Detroit. I recently read that GM were looking for another bailout. How many bailouts do these companies get? And GM had an article on their new vehicles, seven out of ten are built in China. A little out- sourcing Mr. President? If the stockholders at Gm or Chrysler want to buy back their company, why won’t you let them Mr. President?. Has anyone checked to see if any of those dealerships that were forced to close their doors with the bailout, ever given a hand up? Somewhere over this President’s watch I read that many Big Companies that had outsourced for lower wages in other countries, and lower taxes, approached the President about bringing their business back to America if he would not tax them again that year, because they had already paid taxes in the country they outsourced to. He said No. JOBS? JOBS?JOBS? isn’t that what he is trying to convince the Americans is his main priority. I think he said it best when questioned on those shovel ready jobs he had planned in an interview, “well I guess those shovel ready jobs, weren’t as shovel ready as we thought.” And the media as usual let him get away with it. He was not vetted for Presidency in 2008, and the liberal media are trying to get another four years without vetting him this time either. They know he paid millions to seal his past, and they just don’t care. Why would he seal it from the American people??????????????

Teachers do not even use the million dollars text books, at least in elementary and middle school, I know because I have grandchildren. They get worksheets off of the Net. Places like Quia have every grade level, every subject, work plans for teachers to make sure the kids can pass those SOL’s. The teachers hate it because they are not allowed to teach the way they want, they have to spend the year concentrating on SOL’s. Kids are directed to the web sites for projects, and SOL preparation games, quizzes, etc. Just about every school has it’s own web site with the same. They are so crazy about scores they forget to teach the kids. Schools have been sued for faking scores so they could get more grant money. Tell the President that education is great when the kids learn. Look at the school voucher programs, the kids are killing the SOL scores, and the teachers are loving teaching. Instead of throwing away money on multi-million dollar schools, concentrate on finding out how the other nations scoring above us in math & science for example, are doing it. Other nations are putting the US to shame in academics.

We have job training centers, but apparently they are redundant and unbelievable ineffective and wasteful, so are we going to add more redundancy and waste there? So if we hire all these teachers and they have no place to teach, but of course they will be on union payrolls, which means they’ll get paid to sit home, do we then decide, oh! Well now we need to spend 500 billion to build more schools, so what are we going to have like 10 students per teacher then? That sounds all nice, everything sounds nice in Utopia, but in the realworld we have classes of 25-30 students…
How about instead of hiring 100,000 new teachers, we get the current teachers to go back to school and learn how to actually TEACH !!!??? Geee, what a novel idea!

Posted on October 17, 2012 at 11:36pmDid you seen the show on Fox I believe about why college tuition is so high. The government offers the schools grant money right. Then each year they add something to the college to make it more appealing, so the next year they get more grant money, so on, and so on. It has gotten to the point that kids go to the college not for the fantastic academics offered, but for the play time. They have tropical rain forest, huge olympic pools some with waterfalls, jacuzzi, spas, multiple lounges, rock climbing walls lit at night of course, total workout gyms, anything you would want in an expensive resort, you’ll find at these competing colleges. John Stossel did an interview on Govt. waste at several of these elite schools. The woman giving the tour said the kids use to ask about academics first on tour, now they want to know about the Recreational Areas first. Millions, if not billions of dollars are spent in luxuries to entice the students to go to their college so they can get more Govt. grant money. It is a circle of Govt. waste, skyrocketing student loans, & now 50% with no jobs when they graduate. And they want the govt. to forgive their loans. They hate it because they are back at home with mom & Dad, instead of being independent. Nothing like working 2-3 jobs to make ends meet. The President wants to throw more money into education. I already posted on lower level education, Stossel found a list of over 600 colleges across America as I described.Dept of ED denied. Pass it on
