Former New Hampshire governor and Romney surrogate John Sununu has clashed with CNN’s Soledad O’Brien in the past (remember when he told her to put a Obama bumper sticker on her forehead?), and Wednesday morning the two were at it again discussing last night’s presidential debate.
Specifically, the two discussed the September 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, and whether Mitt Romney missed an opportunity to explain the repeated contradictions in the administration’s response.
O’Brien begins by playing edited clips of the debate, in which Romney says it took the president two weeks to admit the attack was actually a “terrorist attack,” before moderator Candy Crowley intervenes to say the president did refer to an act of terror the next day in the Rose Garden. After applause for the president, Crowley also says Mitt Romney had the right “idea,” however, and that the administration did spend roughly two weeks claiming the incident was a spontaneous protest in response to a YouTube video.
After O’Brien concludes “that’s what happened,” Snunu objects.
“The fact is that in that Rose Garden speech, the president first [said] it was the video, and then two weeks later at the U.N. the president goes out and tells the world six times it’s the video. The president got caught lying last night, and I think the world should know that!”
After O’Brien plays a clip from the Rose Garden speech, proving that Obama did in fact say the word “terror,” Sununu responds:
“You left out the first part, and it’s the first part where he’s trying to tell the American public that it’s because somebody in the U.S. used their [First Amendment] right and made a video… that caused the problem.
“This is ridiculous that you’re trying to defend the president, who [five] days later sends out his Ambassador to the U.N. to five talk shows to say it’s the video. And two weeks later the president goes to the international stage and says ‘video’ six times! That’s ridiculous that you’re trying to defend him on this.”
When O’Brien attempts to place herself somewhat on Sununu’s “side,” saying Romney missed a real opportunity on Libya, Sununu remains unmoved:
“No, because what he did was put this in the conversation again. And now people understand that the president and his ambassador for the U.N., and Jay Carney, and all the apologists for this White House, and all the groupies on television that are trying to cover his butt have been lying about the president trying to deceive America that that tragedy was the result of a video, rather than acknowledging right from the beginning that this was a well-planned, well-executed terrorist attack…
As O’Brien once again tries to point out that President Obama did mention terror in the Rose Garden speech, Sununu concluded dismissively: “This is ridiculous, and if you’re going to dwell on this, you’re out of your mind.”

Oct. 17, 2012 at 2:07pmThe liberal MSM was all about “damage control” for Obama. During the Debate Obama refers to himself as ” Da buck stops here”. Well, if that were true, why is Hilliary now saying she ” takes full responsibility”. Ok, who then is running Foreign Affairs? Why hasn’t Obama then dismissed Hilliary Clinton if “Da buck stops at Obama”? Four people are dead because of lack of attention during a ” September 11th Anniversary”.

Oct. 17, 2012 at 2:01pmHasn’t Soledad had enough of Sununu by now? Everytime she interviews him, he eats her lunch, then kicks her in the head. Look how she stammers and studders the first question to John S.
So, let me get this right. They claim, he, Obama, called it “..an act of terror..”, the day after it happens. Ok, but how come he hadn’t spoken about it, and referred to it as an act of terror for the next 14 days? It took him another 14 days to speak about the attack as an act of terror? LOL, that is so inconceivable he would act like that.
Also, this whole story circulating about the reason why the ambasador ws in Bengazi, to get back the arms that went to our enimies when they were destined for more friendly anti-regime fighters.
We should seek prosectuion under the articles of Treason.

Oct. 17, 2012 at 2:00pmLast night Candy Crowley last night really was the one who was there to spray air freshener for all stink BO let loose with last night. He really stunk up the room with all the twisted truth he was slinging around last night.
Romney was the guy in the room that was pointing out the stink and the source of where it’s been coming from for a very long time. Yes, Romney did mistate about BO using the word terror, but everyone knew what he was talking about who has listened to the issues at all. It’s all back to the MSM and BO making up and changing things by using sound bites out of context. Pretty bad when statements can’t stand on their own, but need to be peiced together to make them sound better.

Oct. 17, 2012 at 1:48pmPresident Obama mentioned attack no less than four times in the Rose Garden. He called it an outrageous and shocking attack. He called it senseless violence. He said we should reject these brutal acts. But nowhere did you hear him refer to THIS attack as a terrorist attack.
Here is the White House Rose Garden statement:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Nu6VZ9DeVc&feature=relmfu
And, the statement, “No acts of terror will ever shake…” is close to a George Bush quote that was used for the 9/11 terrorist attacks. And, if the president standing in the Rose Garden knew that this was in fact a terrorist attack why five days later did he have his UN ambassador go out and say that it was related to the YouTube video, on five Sunday news shows? And, the president appeared on The View and the David Letterman show and said that they did not know if it was a terrorist attack. All of this occurring days after the Rose-Garden statement.
Here is the video of President Bush (go to about the 1 minute mark) of similar comment about terrorism shaking a building’s foundation.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbqCquDl4k4&feature=youtube_gdata_player
So, no President Obama did NOT call this an act of terrorism in the Rose Garden. This should come as no surprise coming from the administration who didn’t even want to use the term terrorism. Instead opting to call them “man-made disasters”. The only man-made disaster is this administration.

Oct. 17, 2012 at 1:44pmWhat the audience saw las tnight was clear, Romney said Obama never used the words and got caught in a lie. You can argue semantics of terror act or act of terror but the tape of the rose garden speech is easily viewed. ROmeny was incorrect and lied to the audience aboutthe Presidents statement. Also he was shown be make political points off of a terror attack before the facts were known and that is irresponsable.
When you complain about a moderator you it means you lost the debate. Thje left was hoest enought to admit Obama lost the first ddebate and didnt complain about the moderator. The right howeever is unable to accept the truth and it is rather sad to watch

Oct. 17, 2012 at 1:32pmActually the President did not say “THIS WAS AN ACT OF TERROR” he said “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.” He didn’t declare this attack a terrorist attack, he didn’t even say “this act of terror”..
His statement is a general statement and not an indictment of terror. Very carefully worded so as not to be an accusation of terrorism. It is logical to challenge the president that he did not call the Libya attack because of his actions on the him and the administration that followed for the next 13 – 14 days.
