’2016′ Creator Dinesh D’Souza Resigns College Presidency Amid Scandal Allegations

Conservative author Dinesh D’Souza has resigned as president of The King’s College amid allegations that he was carrying on a relationship with a woman while still married to his wife, the college has announced after a source confirmed it to TheBlaze.

The board of trustees for the New York City Christian school met Thursday following a report in an evangelical Christian publication that D’Souza attended a conference in late September with a younger woman whom he introduced as his fiance.

Student newspaper The Empire State Tribune reported the board accepted D’Souza’s resignation after 11 hours of deliberations.

“God has a mighty future for Dinesh, but there are some things he has to go through first,” board chairman Andy Mills said afterward, according to the Tribune.

Mills, who will serve as interim president, also said: “I have to admit, I got a little over-enamored with [D'Souza].”

In a statement later, Mills said the board engaged in “careful consultation” with D’Souza before accepting his resignation “to allow him to attend to his personal and family needs.”

“We thank him for his service and significant contribution to the College over the last two years,” Mills said.

According to World magazine, D’Souza and the woman, Denise Odie Joseph II, stayed in the same hotel room during the Christian conference in Spartanburg, S.C on Sept. 28. Asked about being engaged while still married to his wife of 20 years, D’Souza reportedly said he had filed for divorce “recently.” According to World, court documents show he didn’t file until Oct. 4 — a week after the conference.

D’Souza spoke out against the allegations on Wednesday, writing in an op-ed for Fox News that he and his wife have been separated for two years, that he and Joseph stayed in separate rooms and “are not and have not been having an affair.” D’Souza said he and Joseph have suspended their engagement.

“I had no idea that it is considered wrong in Christian circles to be engaged prior to being divorced, even though in a state of separation and in divorce proceedings,” D’Souza wrote.

Decrying “a clear attempt to destroy my career and my ministry,” D’Souza alleged the World story was part of a personal vendetta against him by the magazine’s editor and called it “viciousness masquerading as righteousness.”

Catherine Ratcliffe, a 21-year-old junior at King’s College, described an “interesting atmosphere” on campus this week, which also happened to be during midterm exams.

“We’re all surprised and some in shock even,” Ratcliffe told TheBlaze. “We were kind of living the whole thing real time.”

King’s College student body president Samuel Tran said he thought most students agreed the board made the right decision in accepting D’Souza’s resignation.

“I agree that the board made the right decision,” Tran wrote in an email. “The coming weeks and months will not be easy, but I am confident that greater days are ahead.

Christian Stempert, a 20-year-old junior, described mixed reactions from students over the past few days.

“There were a variety of reactions from the students, some instantly sided against D’Souza, some were more temperate and decided to hear him out,” Stempert said. But particularly after D’Souza’s Fox News op-ed, “I think everyone was on the same page [that he had to go],” he said.

“It’s a rough time because he was the public face of the school,” Stempert added. “We have confidence with board will choose a good replacement and we can just keep going on, having classes, getting back to normal because this was a pretty crazy couple of days.”

Jonathon M. Seidl edited this story. Full disclosure: Seidl is a graduate of The King’s College and a former intern at World, which levied the initial charges against D’Souza.

OK Dinesh, you have some problems within your personal life. Now there is scandal associated with your name. You are a Christian so turn to God and pray for help to turn these bad times into something else, something that will glorify God.

We all fail miserably. My sins are different than yours but they are sins nevertheless. God be with you Dinesh.

If you are going to speak out against the libs, you better have your ducks in a row, have no dirt under the rug, no skeleton in the closet, because they will aim to destroy you. The MSM runs coverage for dems, hides their crimes, but they will not hide yours if you are on the right. Hillary was the person in charge of destroying and threatening all the women accusing Bill Clinton of sexual wrong doings when he ran for president.

Dinesh should have known that they would leave no stone unturned, and that they would do a full blown witch hunt to destroy him.

Aint it funny that Obama could declared his run for the senate seat in the house of a known terrorist who blew bombs up in our subways, and the MSM never cared. If Palin farted, the MSM would tell you what she had for dinner last night.\

From New York Magazine – August 2012
“If the board of trustees hoped a marquee conservative would help with fund-raising, their gamble could still pay off. Yet signs suggest that the King’s community may find D’Souza more divisive than galvanizing. Some King’s professors are considering resignation next fall rather than pledging allegiance to their new president. “I mean, I’m a conservative,” one tells me. “I didn’t vote for Obama. But I don’t hate him.”

D’Souza has hurt the President badly with his movie and theory on anti-colonialism. I saw it the week it came out, and just this last week, dozens of people I know have seen it and been amazed at the case he makes against trusting Obama with the Presidency.

He was so effective, there is now a campaign to take him down and ruin him. I think he has to overcome the challenges of legally ending his marriage, which sounds as though it ended two years ago, but his political work is superior.

It doesn’t appear that he was living a lie, as he openly presented himself as being in a relationship with his fiancé. And if they really weren’t sleeping together and stayed in separate quarters, then why is it a news story? Because he is famous for his Obama hit piece.

“I had no idea that it is considered wrong in Christian circles to be engaged prior to being divorced…”

It’s not what men say on the matter but what God’s word speaks on the matter:

Matt. 5:31 “Furthermore it has been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.

Jesus clearly states that divorce should only be allowed due to adultery thus being with someone before you are divorced is committing adultery. The guilty party is not allowed to remarry unless they are reconciled to their spouse.

1 Cor. 7:11 But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife.

But divorcing for other than adultery is wrong plain and simple.

What scandal Mom? He went to a conference with his girlfriend, whom he’s been dating because he was under a legal separation with his wife? Do you know the definition of legal separation? He said he did not share the room with the woman to whom he is engaged. I believe him. The fact that he is not legally divorced yet means nothing? There is no scandal.

I was legally separated from my husband while waiting for the divorce to become final. Florida required 6 months from filing, we filed 6 months after filing a legal separation. Some states make you wait a year or two before a divorce is final.

The only thing the appearance of impropriety did not meet was the requirements of King College and therefore he resigned.

“I was legally separated from my husband while waiting for the divorce to become final.”

The bigger issue is adultery. Divorce is, very rarely, acceptable according to the Bible. Remarriage, however, is ALWAYS adultery – from Jesus’s own words.

      I’m curious: are you remarried?

D’Souza should not have had to leave his job because of this, in my opinion. Getting remarried (heck, even having an affair) is legal in the US. He should have been informed that he’s living in sin, and that is all… it’s up to each individual to decide whether or not they want to continue sinning.

Where do you see liberals in this? From my view, it’s a Christian matter, not conservative or liberal. He is committing adultery, and a Christian college doesn’t think that their president should do such.

The ones creating a buzz over this are angry Christians, upset with his hypocrisy and sin. Liberals are likely just laughing.

Then some gossip rag accuses him of having an affair with someone on his staff, except he’s been separated from his wife for two years (which is enough to make this a non issue in and of itself). AND he’s saying that they had separate room in his suite to boot. hmmm. Hell, even if this is true and the affair is real, he and his wife are not together. Although I don’t question the facts he has brought to light about Obama, Christians had better wake up. Adultery is having relationships (while married) to another individual. It doesn’t matter how long you have been separated. Divorce is required for marriage to no longer exist.

If you read the Bible, divorce on certain grounds was not good enough and adultery still was possible.

On another note, any relationships outside of marriage are forms of fornication.

Both fornication and adultery will seal a sinner’s fate unless they go through the proper channels of repentance.

A good list, although you’re also missing the crucial one. Remarriage after divorce is adultery as well.

“Both fornication and adultery will seal a sinner’s fate unless they go through the proper channels of repentance.”

Well said; it doesn’t diminish the truths he exposed on the political level 1 ioda. As president of king’s college, however, he is being held to a higher set of standards. Separated or not, even for 2 years, God still views him as a covenant partner with his wife. If what was reported was true, the college had no choice but to take action. They represent the King of kings.

Also; concerning his lack of forthrightness, these things always run in pairs; cheaters lie and liars cheat. i pray for the man. If allegations are true he needs to repent. He has much to offer.

Gallup today: 52% Romney 45% Obama ( keep in mind Axelrod and Ronald “Eric Holder” McDonald sued Gallup and strong armed the polling agency to help the Obozo Campaign)

Keep in mind the hapless, helpless, pathetic, Obozo campaign is talking about binders and it looks like the incompetent Obozo’s might be able to count the number of states that they barely win on one hand. Maybe a thumbless hand too. Obozo wins the land of fruits and nuts and a few other ridiculous state… what a Bozo.

This is a typical left tactic: name-call, slander, and be devoid of examples or facts. I suppose your version of truth comes from Mao, Che, Castro, and Chavez. Hopefully America will become too red for you and you may take your pick from one of the countries south of our border. Or maybe Sharia is more your style?

You want to talk scandals, then let’s go. Clinton cigar boy is a good one to start with, rmember that? Now, what about all the green energy investments made to obama’s cronies companies that soon after went bankrupt and had their papers sherdded to try and hide evidence? There are several of those out there. What about all the unions trying to coerce their members into voting for hitler’s twin? Come on let’s keep going. How about how obama helped the muslim brotherhood (known radical association with many terrorist groups) come to power in egypt and syria and places like that. Wait here is a recent one where he and the rest of the left politicized the terrorist attacks in Lybia saying they were a protest about a movie when they full welll knew it was a terrorist attack. Not to mention in the UN address, he said that no nation can stand that opposes islam. Hmm, want to go for scandles, then bring it on.

I am sure that they are anonymous and connected to the Progressive Liars Movement called a Presidential re-election campaign. Since his movie has been doing so well they did what they did to Herman Cain. It is always sexually related since those accusations are the hardest to disprove since Progressives have the “D” word to fall back on when the real truth comes out, that word is “DENIAL”. They have done this to Conservatives they can’t win against it is the Saul Alinsky/George Soros way.

D’Souza said in his statement that he didn’t share a room with the woman in “Charlotte”.

The article that out’ed him was specific: “Comfort Suites” in “Spartanburg” (that SC, 75 miles from Charlotte in NC). A “suite” has multiple rooms.

So, technically, he can say that a “room” was not shared in “Charlotte”.

D’Souza did a good thing-resigned immediately after this ‘alleged’ scandal was announced.

Unlike others who kick, scream, and strive for attention pleading their innocence or so called persecution. Is he innocent or guilty? Dont know, dont care, not my concern, but at least he has the mettle to step aside. The fire will subside, the slander will cease, and he will end up fine and dandy.
