Comedian D.L. Hughley to Joy Behar: Romney Talked to Obama During the Debate ‘Like a Man Talking to a Servant’

Comedian D.L. Hughley appeared on Current’s “Joy Behar: Say Anything!” on Wednesday, where he issued a scathing assessment of Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s performance at the second presidential debate. In addition to claiming that he has a “tremendous amount of disdain” for the GOP candidate, the entertainer accused the candidate of speaking to President Barack Obama as though he were his servant.

Prior to these critiques being uttered, Behar addressed a common criticism that she believes is being waged against Obama — the notion that, if he’s not careful, he might be perceived as “an angry guy.”

“Just to talk about Obama’s personality a little bit, you know, this angry black man thing we’re hearing about: ‘He can never show himself to be an angry black man.’ First of all…he is not an angry guy,” she host told Hughley.

“He’s more like Carlton from ‘The Fresh Prince’ than he is Wesley Snipes,” the comedian responded, going on to say that Obama “likes being liked” and that this personality trait was likely at the center of his poor performance during the first debate.

Next, Hughley tackled Romney’s alleged poor treatment of Obama.

“To me, watching Mitt Romney, who I have a tremendous amount of disdain for…I think that the way he talked to the president of the United States last night was like a man talking to a servant,” he told Behar.

The host then stated her agreement, claiming that she’s expressed similar sentiments following the debate.

“It’s like Mitt Romney learned manners from watching 50s TV shows,” Hughley continued.

  Obama’s debate demeanor and performance was that of an amateur, just as Joe Klein describes in his book, “Amateur.”
  
  He speaks well, but so do news commentators who read teleprompters a lot., Speaking well and thinking well are totally unrelated.
  
  I’m a bit surprised this black didn’t threaten to riot or kill Romney as so many have done already or at least insinuated some kind of violence.
  
  Obama is in office for one reason and one reason only and that is to help blacks and all things black any way he can by hook or crook and if anyone else benefits it is strictly an unintended consequence. Everything he says and does is covert, presented in a way to fool the most gullible in this society. Only the fools are duped.

Dang, I must have fallen asleep and missed how Mitt actually spoke to 0bama in that manner….Tuesday night, all of the reruns of various parts of the debate, and again when I ran a video of the debate again last night. I can’t recall a single incident where Romney even so much as changed the inflection in his voice that would make someone think that. Hughley is simply nitpicking much like the ‘binders’ whiners.
I do have to say that “Say Anything” is the most descriptive title for Maude Behar’s show.

  Forgot to add this. Am I missing something else in the news? Because I thought that I checked into it quite a bit everyday, and on a variety of TV channels as well as talk radio. So, who out there is calling 0bama an angry black man, other than the liberal talking heads? Naturally, they are always accusing us of saying that, but I am just not hearing it out here. But, now that they have broached the subject go back and look at 0bama’s face during both debates, but particularly in the first debate.

BUT for the sake of argument he IS a woeful public servant and someone should have been talking to him about 3 years ago. HE is the one know towing to Chavez, Ahmadinejad et al, and what does that make Candy? Seems to me she was the real miss daisy, BHO was fittingly Morgan freeman, and Romney was the neighborhood dog they were trying together to run down.

DL needs a wake up call. It was a shame that Obama had to have the basics of leadership taught to him on a public stage to begin with. If the media had done it’s part, perhaps, Obama wouldn’t look like an incompetent fool in the face of somebody that has actually lead prior to contending for the position.

As for ” the servant ” comment. You’re right Mr. Hugely, he’s a Public Servant of the highest degree. That’s why we vote every 4 years to judge whether or not the President deserves to be in his current position.
