Obama Roasts Himself, Jabs at Clint Eastwood and Romney at Al Smith Dinner: ‘Spoiler Alert: We Got Bin Laden’

Moments after Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s humorous address at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner in New York City on Thursday, President Barack Obama took to the stage and made fun of himself, Clint Eastwood and, of course, Romney.

“Everybody please take your seats, otherwise Clint Eastwood will yell at them,” Obama began, referring to the actor’s infamous speech at the Republican National Convention.

One of Obama’s best jokes of the night had to do with his poor debate performance in the first presidential debate and MSNBC’s Chris Matthews.

He noted that Thursday night was the third time he and Romney had met in the same room, including the first two debates.

“Some of you may have noticed, I had a lot more energy in our second debate. I felt really well rested after the nice long nap I had in the first debate,” Obama joked.

He went on: “I particularly want to apologize to Chris Matthews. Four years ago, I gave him a thrill up his leg. This time around, I gave him a stroke.”

He also said the first debate taught him that there are “worse things that happen to you on your anniversary than forgetting to buy a gift.”

Obama’s speech appeared to be far less focused on Romney than the Republican’s was on the president. He did, however, make a crack about Romney’s wealth saying, “Earlier today, I went shopping at some stores in midtown. I understand Governor Romney went shopping for some stores in midtown.”

“Monday’s debate will be a little bit different because the topic is foreign policy. Spoiler alert: we got bin Laden,” Obama joked to laughs.

In closing, Obama thanked the Gov. Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation for hosting the annual dinner, which benefits needy children. He explained that he and Romney “have different political perspectives” but that they both “share the hope that the next four years will affect the same willingness to come together for a higher purpose that are on display this evening” at the dinner.

Also, just as Romney did, Obama praised the former Massachusetts governor as a father and husband and complimented his family.

What should be evident is that these guys are are both working for the one world order as they party it up.

This is revolting and shocking to the senses

unfortunately the first president that I can remember is Bill Clinton. And I only remember that because my 6th (or 7th?) grade teacher made such a huge deal about it. She practically threw us a party. Then a month or two later we all got to go on a field trip to listen to some guy that dated Oprah when they were young. Pointless.

Hey, if Obama gets re-elected then when they have this dinner four years from now expect everyone to be clapping for long periods of time at Obama’s jokes. Like Stalin, Obama may kill the first person who stops clapping.

No bad, but Romney was better. I don’t know why? Maybe it’s because Romney delivered his speech with a straight face, while Obama delivered most of his speech with that smug, “gee aren’t I funny?” smile.

Gallup poll showing Romney leading after the second debate is correct. Americans are literate and politically conscious, unlike Africans or Asians, and therefore the performance of Obama may not produce a ripple of an effect in their minds. The big question is: Can Obama’s debate remove the agony of deep economic recession. massive unemployment, colossal failure in foreign policy– murder of ambassador, bloodbath in Syria, dominance of Putin, defiance of Ahmadinejad and the present chaos in the Middle East. All these problems erupted during Obama’s 4 year presidency. Added to these woes, the inundation of illegal immigrants in all the cities of America after Obama gave them the green signal — these issues are in the minds of all patriotic Americans. He might even open the floodgates to immigrants from the Middle East, if he comes to power, and that will make Americans a minority in their own country. In spite of debate performance, Americans focus on the failures of Obama’s presidency and that’s the reason Romney is still leading in Gallup polls.

Yes, I realized that I had seen this before. There’s a scene in “The Devil’s Advocate” where Al Pacino stands in the back of the church (during a funeral) and smiles looking up to the ceiling while he sticks a finger into the holy water. That’s Obama.

Obama was not able to get the media to provide him with Mitt’s speech ahead of time. Obama got caught with his drawers down. He had some really funny self-deprecating lines, but they just reinforced Mitt’s attacks. Chris Matthews looked like he was going to blow a gasket and the woman to our left behind the podium needs a ride home (she was swilling the wine like water).

He is a bit worried even with the dems cheating, the conservatives will win. He is smoozing a bit with Romney. It is close and the cheating may be caught in time, but they have many more ways to cheat and keep the country waiting for the results.
