‘Real News:’ Where Are We Now With the Welfare State?

The Senate Budget Committee Republican staff has released a new report revealing that welfare was the single largest budget item in FY 2011, costing the US approximately $1.03 Trillion dollars. Federal welfare spending alone reached $745.84 Billion in 2011, an increase of 34% over the past 4 years. Welfare spending appears to have not correlated with a decrease in the number of Americans unemployed or in poverty during the Obama administration, and there has been a growing call from conservatives for some time arguing that President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society programs have not accomplished their goals if not had a negative impact on society.

Questioning of America’s welfare spending becomes more pressing when observing a new Treasury Department summary on Federal Spending in 2012 that shows that for every 7 dollars the federal government takes in, it spends nearly $11.

On ‘Real News’ Thursday the panel discussed these new reports and whether the current welfare system is functioning as it was intended to, and given the curent financial disaster that the nation could be heading toward, could this be the time a Republican administration is able to will the support necessary to institute substantial welfare reforms:

NO WELFARE CELL PHONES, HAVE DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES TO HAND OUT THE BASICS FOR
FOOD WELFARE PEOPLE GET NO CASH MAKE IT HARD TO GET WELFARE ELIMINATE THE SCAMMERS SAME GOES FOR DISABILITY………

Of course is functioning as it was intended to. It is intended to keep people down and dependent on government and voting for more “free stuff” just as democrats intended it to! Now that we have run out of free stuff it is time to stop feeding the bears and let them learn to fend for themselves.

If you spent $11 for every $7 that you earned, how long would you last before the debt collectors started demanding money? There’s no difference between you and a country. At this rate we will be Greece sooner than we think. Therefore, all you people who are planning on voting for an Obamaphone, yeah, you might get a free phone, but you won’t have a country that will even give you even a safety net in the future. Think about it.

We need a leader that will make a difference…we are becoming third world..children in our nation going to bed hungry and living in poverty..over 23 million either unemployed or under employed.

Where are we now? On the edge of the black hole and obama gave himself more voters!! Time to cut benfits off for EVERYONE!! I don’t want to hear the stories how the ****** mom has no choice!   This was intensified in the 1970′s AFTER the corporate States all jumped in-line with the Mother corporation (State constitutions were re-written to COMPLY with that of the Mother corp – USA/UN/IMF — look it up) — there was also a shin-dig started under FDR’s administration(s) – which ‘progressed’ into what today is called the Uniform Commercial Code. Once all these pieces of the puzzle were ‘assembled,’ the States collectively shoved through something called ‘no-fault’ divorce — Now — there is only one reason why a ‘government’ would have ANY ‘interest’ in the sanctity of ‘marriage,’ the end product (with which they are primarily concerned) is…. offspring. Anyone older than 30 knows this to be, ‘self-evident’ — all we have to do is look at how we are (un)able to merely discipline our children – teaching core values, morals and principles which LEAD to responsible behavior. Fine line between discipline and ‘abuse.’ What’s the definition of ‘is,’ again??? Never mind… the World Series is ’bout to ‘distract.’
