Here’s a Gasp-Inducing Lesson in Why You Should Never Stick Your Head Out a Train Window
A video has been making its rounds on the Web simply because it is a lesson in what not to do while riding on a train.
The clip, uploaded in late September by Live Leak, shows a group of young adults on a train, enjoying themselves. The person filming a sunglasses-wearing female tells her to stick her head out the window. She does so without complaint — and without looking.
Within seconds, as you see the woman hanging outside the train and the videographer presumably doing so himself to capture the footage, a train appears speeding in the opposite direction. Hearing the looming locomotive at the last second, the woman, later called Carissa, and the videographer zip in before their heads are taken off.

Although the trains might not have been passing each other at a close enough distance to actually allow passengers to touch them through an open window, it was still a shock to the couple as it sped by.
Stunned, Carissa’s friend asks her if she’s OK. All she can say is “Oh my God.”
Watch the video (Warning: Some strong language):
The video has been reposted to YouTube several times. Australia’s Herald Sun reports at least one of these repostings being removed from the video-sharing site for showing a dangerous activity.

Posted on October 19, 2012 at 9:08pmHey don’t be so quick to judge. Remember what YOU did when you were young. Personally I’m amazed that I am alive. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, no? And presumably wiser too… The trick is to not be so wise that you are dead… :)

But we don’t want her to make it to the polls. Obama’s NOT the fool, it’s the fools in this country who voted for him in the first place. Romney/Ryan 2012 Take Back America/Send the Obama’s Packing.

Posted on October 20, 2012 at 3:07amI think you guys have gone soft! When I see old people (like 60+ years) I always think “damn I hope I die long before I get old! What do old people even do? Bingo? ******* Barrell?” Well, I don’t know and I don’t want to live that long to find out! What’s the point of even living once you’ve lost your sense of adventure?? I aim to maintain a rigorous lifestyle because it makes me feel alive and I don’t want to get old!! I’m not hating on old people, I just don’t want to become one! Go outside! Take risks! We all are gonna die someday, right? So step outside your comfort zone, do something wild, and the fear is half the fun!! Wooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

Posted on October 20, 2012 at 10:08amto STATUTORYAPE. You can go to Hell. I’m 68 years old. I spent my younger years working for a living and raising a family. I did that so my family could have a comfortable life, not so I could “keep MY sense of adventure.” I retired at 61 and can now enjoy lifer. I ride a Harley, take trips, I am able to do more now than I could ever do when I was “young” To say when someone turns 60 they lose the will to live is pure ignorance.
So you can go to Hell, and you can do it while you are still 30 for all I care.

Posted on October 20, 2012 at 8:40pm@RRFLYER, that’s cool you had a family young and that you wanted to make them comfortable!! I, however, went through college and now I’ll probably have to go back because jobs are scarce and I have student loans to pay for. I’m not even considering marriage right now cuz the economy is ****!!! I engage in extreme sports cuz that’s just what I love to do. Times have changed, dude. The world in which you grew up is not the same as the world I’m living in!

Posted on October 20, 2012 at 11:29pmSTATUTORYAPE you missed my whole point. I was working for little of nothing after Vietnam because I wanted to fly. I went to college, had a daughter when I was 28, and didn’t have time for the “adventures” you are talking about.
My point is just because I’m 60+ doesn’t mean I am ready to die. I’m having my adventures Now as I was too busy when I was younger. Just because you were born later than me doesn’t make you better because you like to go take chances.
If you want to die young that’s your business, but I am happier now than I have ever been.

Also they really aren’t “young” in that they should have sense enough to know not to do that. Maybe you did jack-ass type stunts but don’t assume everyone else has

What I see in your post is the self-centered arrogance of youth; a disdain for those who have lived life longer than you. You imply irreverence of your parents – You know those people that changed your diapers, taught you to talk. NOW that you are of age “the world is different”. YOU are smarter than those old fogies.
No it is not different. The only thing that is now different is the speed of access to information and most younger people ARE NOT taking advantage of that information.

Posted on October 19, 2012 at 10:49pmYes, that’s true. Look where we’ve come to. Consider the young people today who tattoo, pierce, mutilate, shack up, accept homosexuality and gay marriage, hook up, and occupy. And they think that it is all normal. Compare them to a few generations ago. WOW! It’s all so slow and look at what we’ve become. It’s no wonder that the American house of cards is about to crash, both spiritually and financially.
Consider how connected Americans used to be to their church and family. We have abandoned God and we are reaping the evil of living lives of rebellion from our creator. We deserve all we get.

The brunette goes back to jumping from rail to rail, counting, “22″ “22″ “22″.

Posted on October 19, 2012 at 1:38pmAnd that is why they barely have opening windows in these things.. I live outside Chicago and those rails near the stations aren’t more than 10 feet apart from each others and they blow through the stations without stopping all the time, that’s how they run. But you wouldn’t believe how many people around these things are oblivious to their danger.
A lady yesterday went around gates with her SUV and 2 kids and POW> DEAD. O voter no more sadly too stupid to have children obviously, as I’m not gonna pretend to feel sorry for some dumb adult behind the wheel of a car nonetheless stupid enough to do that with her own freaking children in the car, who are I think still barely alive. http://huff.to/WKTX0t
Nowadays it’s a wonder half these kids make it to ten years old, I shake my head every day at the stupidity around us. WE had erector sets and chemistry sets with ACID in them and BB guns and pellet guns and rifles and drove trucks on farms at 9 years old and tractors to cut grass and on and on and no one died from it that I remember.
NOW, they can’t take ten steps in any direction without a freaking ‘smart phone’. Grown women walking into fountains and open manholes and what not….
I wouldn’t be surprised if a SIRIUS or wtf it’s name is told that idiot previously mentioned to make a right turn there at that backside train track, freaking Idiots. Sorry it just sickens me each day to see this nation fall further into the welfare abyss.

Posted on October 19, 2012 at 12:51pmThis reminds me of an episode of The Young Ones when they took the train to appear on Scholastic Scoreboard. On the way home, Vivyan sees the sign warning “Do Not Stick Head Out Window,” and of course, being Vivyan, he proceeds to do just that. The episode ends with a headless Vivyan kicking his angry, cursing head down the tracks.
I loved that show. One of the few British comedies I ever really liked.
