As Gov. Mitt Romney’s campaign picks up steam in the last weeks before the election, a sense of urgency and desperation seems to have overtaken Obama supporters. This has devolved frequently into death threats against the Republican candidate, some of which have been uncovered by TheBlaze. The threats to kill Romney had a resurgence this week, and the site Twitchy made a laundry list of almost 30 “kill Romney” tweets. The Weekly Standard followed up with the Secret Service, who said they were “aware” of the threats. Well here are some of the most, well, creepy.

It is important to stress that these Twitter accounts are genuine, they are not fakes. Many of them have thousands of previous tweets.

And in the end, this kind of language is no laughing matter. The Secret Service has practiced a strict policy over the last four years of investigating threats against the president (as it should). Hopefully those above can expect a visit.

Just don’t understand these people. I consider myself fairly far right, and NOBODY I hang around with, not a single person, no matter how mad they are with somebody, has hoped that person would die.

Get what’s coming to them yes, as in caught if they’re a cheating thief, or fired if they’re a slacker, but never vile comments like this to someone they’ve never met.

  I completely understand them. They are the lowest of the low in our society, complete GHETTO RATS. Basically they can’t even be classified as human beings. They are animals and ought to be behind bars in cages. That’s why alot of them are in zoos. You won’t see conservatives talking this way. Your might see some far out right wing nut job but nothing like this.   The people writing these have about the lowest mentality and you can tell who is racist and who isn’t. Any black person who can talk about killing anyone, much less a public figure, should never open their mouth ever about white people being racist. I don’t believe I recall any such disgusting actions when Obama was elected. Most of you need to get a real job, quit having more kids so you get more welfare and get off your stupid cell phones. The sad thing is that there’s quite alot of hatred on the conservative side too. I have NOT seen any direct physical threats against Obama (or Biden) in my internet wanderings, but I certainly HAVE seen a LOT of inappropriate, hateful postings that would have been unheard of in the past. Things like calling Obama a POS and other obscene names, for instance.

The fact is that the tone of political discourse has gone totally off the charts in recent years. It used to be that folks could disagree politically but still be civilized and respectful of each other. Not any more! Now, if we disagree with someone’s politics we call them obscene names and do our best to tear them down.

Much of this hatred is due to the “class warfare” tactics of the liberal left, including Obama, although we saw similar dynamics at play long before Obama come on the scene so he certainly didn’t invent the tactic. What’s TRULY sad is that many conservatives, too, have bought into the class warfare dynamic or, at the very least, have been suck into it.

Hatred breeds violence and MORE hatred! Those on BOTH sides of the political spectrum who use obscenities and hateful insults to try and advance their political views are DESTROYING America! If we (meaning BOTH liberals and conservatives) can’t exercise our right to participate in the political process in a civilized manner, we seriously run the risk of LOSING that right!

  You’re running over the lines between hatred, common form of discourse (at least on these matters), and common expectation of civility.
  
  Hatred, ergo blind desire to kill someone, is extremely rare in the Right. It is artificially magnified by the bleeding-heart press, making things look worse for everyone involved. Of all the Righties I have dealt with over the years, none fit this description, even among the die-hard reactionary right.
  
  Common expectation of civility is dead. Everyone is angry right now, for different reasons. You may have civil conversations here and there, but they are the extreme minority in a sea of disdain. Most people are in a state of near-berserkir on these issues, and though not directed hatred, it is equally dangerous.
  
  The common form of discourse is what you see nowadays. You think the Right is bad? Read a page or two of Huffpo comments or even comments on CBS. It is worse than you think, but this is not a function of hatred so much as it is conditioning. For a lot of otherwise civil people, this is simply a level-playing-field retort to the other side. I don’t excuse it, but I do understand it. A wise man does not stand around getting the crap kicked out of you based on a principle that is otherwise silly when wagered against the consideration of defeat.

  In the past, we felt that both sides had the good of the country at heart, but differed primarily in the path to achieve the goal. That is no longer the case. We have a POTUS who, through his own words and deeds, has shown us that he wishes to see the country brought to its knees. Not since Aaron Burr have we had such a treasonous man in high office. When I was a kid, people who were on government assistance didn’t go around crowing about it but it seems to be fashionable these days. It’s pitiful what our government has turned this country into over the last 40 years.

I have also seen where many of Mr. Obama’s supporters are threatening to riot of Romney is elected. Hogs squealing at the government trough with the thought that they may have to go out and be more responsible for themselves. My question is, WHY HAVEN”T WE HEARD OF ANY OF THIS PEOPLE BEING ARRESTED? I fully expect an outbreak of violence if Romney is elected, and I am prepared for it. ANYONE who changes their vote or are hesitant to vote at all because of fear of what a bunch of parasites may do are COWARDS.

I seriously believe ( and have for a while now ) that if Romney wins, it won’t matter what political strip you wear, if you’re white, you’re fair game. And, the rioting will be unlike anything we have seen in the past because it won’t be confined to any particular locale, it will be nationwide. I could be totally wrong on this, and I hope I am, but as of now I don’t think so.

  Nah, just half wrong. You’ll likely (see: likely) see rioting mostly in large democrat controlled centers, like Chicago, LA, Detroit, St Louis. I severely doubt you will see much violence in Tulsa, Oklahoma, or Springfield, TX. They’ll burn, loot and steal from their own neighbors, and murder and rape their friends. If Romney is president, the feds are unlikely to get involved and leave the civil order to the governors and their National Guards. If Obama is still president (with Romney as Elect) then I might be a bit concerned that Martial Law nationally would be declared, and a usurping of the election results might be attempted. I wonder, would the US Marshall Service or the US Military obey an order to prevent Romney from entering the White House, or to remove an illegal occupant from the White House (if Obama refuses to leave)? I think unless it was a sure thing that the Obamessiah might be unlikely to attempt it, because he is such a narcissist that he would not want the embarrassment of being perp walked from the grounds.

It is obvious these people are willing to kill for their black brother and FREEBIES…. this is the socially dependent kids we support daily who “won’t” work, get high on their dope, ********, run prostitution rings, rob, cheat, kill and destroy property. This is the kind of society this president and his policies is spawning. These are your potential terrorist in America and should be delt with as such by authorities. This takes the 1st amendment right to freedom of speech to an all time low. 11 & 13 sound less like personal threats than general commentary. As to the rest, I think that most of them do not understand the seriousness of the comment, nor do they intend it. There are a few that seem serious. The WORST thing that could happen to their community is for one of them to actually harm the President Elect of the United States.   Just recently started using it. got lazy trying come up with a screen name. I didnt want to use it,because Metallica arent a political band,and I dont wish to offend or misrepresent them with my political rants. I am an old school Metallica fan though,have been since “Master of Puppets”.

These are threats by people that think something is going to be taken away from them. Imagine what would happen if something really was taken away from them.

And these people must be idiots. They have pictures of themselves next to these threats. Not to mention their rants are incoherent at times.

I’ve never seen so much hate as I see from libs. Thay are certainly among the most hate-filled people on the planet….maybe not quite as bad as radical islamists….but not far behind.

Look at tweet #5….sad that they know they are slaves to the government yet they are okay with it as long as master Obama is in charge.

Sad because if this was reversed and the threats were being made to Obama this would all you would hear from MSM. I hope after this election we get to flush the MSM down the toilet. I keep thinking about how Glenn said he wanted to buy NBC stuidios…..I hope he does so he can fire all of them.

This is why I’ve been saving for a gun. If Romney wins, there will be riots. I won’t break the non-agression principle, but I still want to be able to defend myself. I’m saving up for a Saiga 12.
