Now Iran Is Denying the Report That It Will Hold One on One Nuclear Talk With the U.S.

Iran is now echoing the United States in denying the report that the two countries will hold direct talks over Iran’s disputed nuclear program.

The New York Times reported Saturday that secret exchanges between U.S. and Iranian officials had yielded “in principle” an agreement to hold one-on-one talks for the first time. The White House quickly denied the report, with National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor calling it “not true.”

“We don’t have any discussions or negotiations with America,” Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said during a news conference Sunday, according to Reuters. “The (nuclear) talks are ongoing with the P5+1 group of nations. Other than that, we have no discussions with the United States.”

The P5+1 group is comprised of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council — the U.S., Britain, France, Russia and China — plus Germany. In his statement Saturday, Vietor also affirmed the only diplomatic solutions currently being pursued were through the P5+1, though added that the U.S. has “said from the outset that we would be prepared to meet bilaterally.”

“The president has made clear that he will prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, and we will do what we must to achieve that,” Vietor said.

Ask yourself why the government of Iran would be adamantly denying talks with the west….

Answer: Because it undermines the Iran regime’s narrative that the west wants to dominate their country. Tyrannical governments always try to scare their citizens in order to galvanize pro-government support

Even if we aren’t involved from the start.. Iran will make sure we get involved.

      Hi Soybom315,
      “Sounds like a simple operation….”

Yep, it sure is. It’s the people that have no idea how to deal with this who are in charge. Community Organizers and Communist that pray to Marx or Islam for guidance. They hate America.

And all they know how to do is talk, bow and apologize for America. They want America destroyed form both the inside and the outside. They have been in power to long but Obama and his crew are by far the worse ever. If he stays in office you will never see America again… only another 3rd world Country being sucked dry, bled dry, chopped up and redistributed. Sharia Law will become more common place here (it’s already here) and your days of being free will be forever lost.

I see a strength in Romney that will not tolerate the dismantling of America. If he’s voted in you will see it in his actions concerning these issues. He will help America become more strong and independent. The next few weeks will determine if we go towards freedom or slavery.

For the “relative”….. those are your only 2 choices.

Good… it’s about time we get back to having a real war against a real Govt and not all these fake wars against people that dress like and hide among the common people, that last forever, have no winner and cost so much.

Maybe the World leaders would have some respect for us then… they certainly don’t now.

If I remember correctly Israel took out Syria’s weapons plant. Clinton bombed Libya. Obama helped bomb a few places too. The UN has done some aggressive actions also. All without declaring war.

This is all Dick Cheney’s fault for helping Iran to acquire nuclear power back during the 1970′s:

    ————————————
“Yet Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and outgoing Deputy Secretary Paul Wolfowitz held key national security posts when the Ford administration made the opposite argument 30 years ago.

Ford’s team endorsed Iranian plans to build a massive nuclear energy industry, but also worked hard to complete a multibillion-dollar deal that would have given Tehran control of large quantities of plutonium and enriched uranium — the two pathways to a nuclear bomb. Either can be shaped into the core of a nuclear warhead, and obtaining one or the other is generally considered the most significant obstacle to would-be weapons builders.”

After balking initially, President Gerald R. Ford signed a directive in 1976 offering Tehran the chance to buy and operate a U.S.-built reprocessing facility for extracting plutonium from nuclear reactor fuel. The deal was for a complete “nuclear fuel cycle” — reactors powered by and regenerating fissile materials on a self-sustaining basis.”

There is no point to holding “talks” of any kind with Iran as they have shown themselves to be dishonest brokers. They agreed to “inspections” with the UN and then when it came time to pay the piper kicked the inspectors out. They reached an agreement negotiated with the Rice Secretary of State and her surrogate Nicholas Burns, and then failed to show up on the appointed date to sign the agreement. There are many other examples. This cat and mouse game has been proven to be a waste of time, money and effort. They do not want an agreement, a negotiation or a treaty; THEY WANT A NUCLEAR WEAPON!!!!

      Hi Soybom315,

Whenever a Monk looks at an external situation they always start with an inner assessment.

Have you ever wondered why the most peaceful people on the planet are also the most dangerous? Monks are very skilled at war, offense and defense so they are prepared if the need arises. Therefore they are never afraid and at peace.

I can tell you that in my personal Life I have been in many fights; yet I have never been hit nor have I had to hit someone else. I have never lost a fight and I never set out to win either. Training is very important so that neither side is hurt. The other gets so tried they give up or they get so scared they run away. I have personally been attached by 8 people once. There is a way to fight without causing injury or death. I can assure you that I am capable of both.

Read this story by Chuang Tzu, “Fighting ****” and you might understand where I’m coming from.

America needs to be the trained fighting rooster. Presently we are a joke around the World and Obama goes around bowing and apologizing. No one gives a hoot about what we say because we are the laughing stock of the World.

Our word needs to be honored and feared. When we say “no nukes or else” they need to say “yes sir”. Presently, they laugh and flip us the bird.

First, it’s too late for that. Second, you can’t instill fear in fanatics. Israel had to destroy Iraq’s nuclear reactor in 1981. We need to remove Hussein and destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities — in that order. If we fail at the former, the latter will never happen. If the latter never happens, Islam wins, America falls. Blow up the entrances and ventilation outlets (from the air), guard those areas (from the air) to stop rescue attempts, let the people inside die and continue satellite surveillance. They will be hard pressed to find replacement scientist and if they manage get one back open… start over. And if we can get our people inside…. blow the sucker up.

Hopefully the old regime will die off and the Iranian people, not us, can put in place a better form of Govt.

You are familiar with all the protests that went on in Iran some years ago. The government of Iran hangs on by a thread – as a great many Iranians are moderate in their views. Therefore, the government of Iran set out for conflict with the west in order to galvanize pro-government support within their own country.

Anyone who honestly looks at the situation in Iran comes to the same conclusion. But of course the blame islam argument is easier to make and plays into people’s perception of the world

If not, and we know this isn’t going to happen, we do have to realize Iran will always seek them to ensure the MAD principle considering Israel has threatened to nuke Iran as early as 2007 and then we’ve also included them in the 7 countries in 5 years plan proposed by the Bush Administration and leaked by principled high ranking intelligence officers / generals that agree with us. I too think they’re bat crap crazy, but no more so than our neoconservatives. The biggest argument I hear is that Iran will pass them off to Hezbollah. Keep in mind Iranians arming Hezbollah is no different than what we’ve been doing and this assessment is based on nothing more than assumption and of course a mistranslation that even the Blaze is still running with despite admitting that it was indeed a mistranslation. Certainly we’ve been giving Al’Queda weapons to cause trouble in the Stans, but not nukes. It’s more logical that Iran would operate in much the same way, knowing that if Hezbollah used them, Iran would receive the retaliation. Keep in mind, brother there’s always a chance to avoid catastrophe through negotiation, but zero chance without. We both hate Obama, but in this case it’s a better alternative to what the neocons are advocating. At least that’s the way I see it. The more countries we invade the more impetus world wide for proliferation.

Justangry I’m hoping like most people that war can be avoided but sadly I think it’s inevitable based on the rhetoric and the history in the middle east. I think we’ve had enough war and don’t need to get involved in another,we’re spread too thin and we’re broke. SOY Yes I’m familiar with the uprising and the regime crushing it after the sham reelection of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Imams rule that country so the hard line against Israel will be maintained. If their people want freedom from the Imams they’ll have to fight for it,the problem is who’s replacing who?,they could wind up with something worse if that’s possible.

they would probably end up with a non-theological regime since that is what they have now. The religious nuts got in power as a result of decades of american intervention in Iran

You are familiar with all the protests that went on in Iran some years ago. The government of Iran hangs on by a thread – as a great many Iranians are moderate in their views.
      ——-
You are positing a nonsequitur to make your point. Most Iranians are moderate, but it does not follow that the Iranian govt. is in danger of falling. Au contraire. It has grown in power since Hussein occupied the WH. Romney is right when he says, We have Iran four years closer to a nuclear bomb.” Or do you think Ahmednutjob is sitting on his @ss while Hussein plays golf?

=> “But of course the blame islam argument is easier to make…”

Granted, far easier than the RP/Obama camps’ incessant apologies to Islam.

Didn’t believe the so-called “one-on-one talks” when I first heard it.
Didn’t believe the so-called “wait until after the election” excuse.
Don’t believe that Iran wants to talk to us about anything !

Just another Democratic ploy to let the voters THINK that Barry has a handle on foreign affairs
so that he gets another term.
The American People SAW what kind of handle Barry doesn’t have on foreign affairs – NOTHING BUT
    SCREW-UPS.

This is one reason I study history, especially of political leaders, so that when a pattern begins to emerge, a person can often figure out the layers of meaning beneath the outer shell.

Well, they said they want to support Obammy – how better to fulfill their dream of completing a nuke to send towards Tel Aviv? They’re already conceding that Romney is a threat to them, and they want Obammy to win.

(NYT) More liberal games to confuse the voters. Yet, I would fully expect that Iran might make some last minute “Big” announcement as they enjoy messing with our elections and are frightened of Romney.

The denials are an attempt to PRE-SPIN the REAL story – The Obama administration has negotiated to remove sanctions on Iran in return for a PHONEY ANNOUNCEMENT BEFORE THE ELECTIONS that a deal was made to halt uranium enrichment. The REAL deal is only to halt enrichment UNTIL AFTER THE ELECTIONS! It’s just another deceitful attempt to get Obama re-elected.

When they knew the REAL story was about to break, they had the NYT release a watered down story then immediately released a denial of THAT story. WND.com has been on top of this story through an undercover CIA agent from the beginning. Here’s a quote from a 10/4/2012 story from WND.com:
“One Obama representative, the woman, who had met Velayati before, urged Velayati to announce a halt, EVEN IF IT’S ONLY FOR A WEEK OR TWO, to uranium enrichment prior to the U.S. election…The U.S. representatives promised the Obama administration quickly would remove some sanctions on the Iranian central bank and oil industry, WITH FURTHER COLLABORATION AFTER THE ELECTION, the source said.”

Here’s how the story unfolded starting on 10/4:
