Hillary Clinton Responds to New Libya Memos Showing White House Knew it Was a Terrorist Attack

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is coming under fire for seemingly downplaying the significance of newly-released documents that prove the White House was alerted to the reality on the ground in Libya within hours of the September 11 attack in Benghazi.

As TheBlaze reported earlier this morning, Clinton began by saying that, more than a month after the administration did its best to convince the world four Americans were dead because of a spontaneous response to a YouTube video, no one wants to get to the bottom of the issue more than she does.

“The Independent Accountability Review Board is already hard at work looking at everything– not cherry picking, you know, one story here, or one document there, but looking at everything,” she said, releasing a smile and a small laugh as she continued, “which I highly recommend as the appropriate approach to something as complex as an attack like this.”

In response to the fact that they were informed Ansar al-Sharia took responsibility that day on social media sites, Clinton continued: “You know, posting something on Facebook is not, in and of itself, evidence. And I think it just underscores how fluid the reporting was at the time, and continued for some time to be. What I keep in mind is that four brave Americans were killed, and we will find out what happened, we will take whatever measures are necessary to fix anything that needs to be fixed, and we will bring those to justice who committed these murders.”

A number of conservative media outlets are criticizing the “cold” response, and Twitchy captured a number of related tweets in an article titled: “Ghastly: Clinton Laughs While Discussing #BenghaziGate, Downplays Emails, Lies.”

Commenters have primarily focused on the irony that the administration was fine blaming a YouTube video without (as far as we know) ample evidence, but laughs about an admission of guilt on Facebook. Moreover, they note, while it probably is wise not to act on a Facebook post, that combined with the live video and internal memos probably should have tipped them off that it wasn’t a spontaneous protest.

Here’s what we now know: We knew we were under attack immediately, we had assets that could have been scrambled and there in about 30 minutes, but the President did nothing except go to bed leaving these Americans to fend for themselves.   The facebook / twitter posting aren’t evidence? Really? Why are our intelligence officials checking those pages then in the first place, for the ads? The email in question was sent what 2 hours into the attack, so they either rightfully claimed responsibility or were in someway connected, who else outside of our government knew about this attack while it was happening roughly 2 hours in?
  
  Let’s also not forget about the Americans arrested by this administration for speaking against the president on facebook/twitter, they took those words, from Americans with no known ties to terrorists groups at face value and sent in officials to bring them in.

They are already in bad trouble about their eternal life but they do not realize that when they are put in that very same situation of facing death through murder and killing, nobody is going to be there to save them either and they will remember that. I’m sick of politicians using words and situations to their favor without any consistency. Using the word “terror” in general terms then NOT using the word “apology” explicitly absolves Obama from all responsibility. Social media is used as evidence (YouTube) then dismissed as evidence (Facebook). The fact that they want it both ways is deplorable. Is it too much to ask for at least an eye dropper of integrity somewhere?

The roots for this go all the way back to Blue-Dress Bill getting away with perjury because the Progressive Left (which includes the Lame Street Media) adored him. From there, Progressive Liberals have rightly believed that they could get away with anything, and almost did here except for Fox and a few Conservative bloggers. Billary still thinks she can dismiss it.

There is only one way to send a message to the Left and that’s to dump this corrupt administration. Personally, I think that a criminal investigation of President Bonobo for violating his oath of office need to be begun. That oath clearly states that the President must support and defend ALL the laws of the United States. Bonobo has selectively disregarded and actively violated numerous laws.

  I don’t think so. She did attempt to send in help the records will show this. She will come out of this as the hero.They are all in this together. This is carefully plotted out to make sure the Progressives will be elected in 2016. They know darn good and well that he will face enormous problems.They have set it up for him to fail to prove that capitalism has no place in the world. If Romney wins all hell will break out from every direction, the American people have no patience or intentions of making sacrifices.They will have high expectations and want immediate results and that will be impossible. If people think Bush left us in a mess, wait until BHO is done with this country. Take away the freebies from the ones that are capable to work and watch the chaos erupt. It is going to be a rocky road for Romney and I am concerned more for his safety because the ones on the left are far more radical than we have been. They have been primed by this administration to forcefully attack. We are in for some hard times. Do not count the Clintons out, that would be a big mistake.

  Hero? Seriously? She did a commercial that aired on “Pah Kee Stahn ee” television blaming the video for the attacks. She made numerous statements blaming the video. She went all in with the “its’ the video’s fault” line that the administration was trying to sell. I dont’ care if she had the entire Fifth Fleet ready to go she decided to blame the video just like her boss did. Her political goose is cooked. She thought the Secretary of State job would be enough to get her the “cred” she’d need in 2016 and it’s blown up in her face.

  Heard from a couple of sources today that Bill has already hired several attorneys to help cover her **** if the blame for this falls back on her. He really wants her in the mix for the 2016 run.
  Have also heard that Hillary actually did make a request for Chris Stevens to get more security, but somebody so far unknown put the kibosh on that. Trouble is, she is dutifully towing the line for 0bama, and makes her just as guilty in my opinion.

  Hi MONK, Sorry, had to step away for a while. Yeah, your’re right, they did the hiring before. Can’t blame them for not trusting 0bama. Have also heard that she has even thought of resigning before 0bama completely implodes. And, wants to get herself ready for the 2016 race.
  PROGRESSIVESLAYER, There is an odd thing that happens in some of these elections. Even if 0bama pulls a rabbit out of his magic ass and wins the election, he may well come up with a Republican House and Senate. If he does anything stupid then, just maybe they will have enough backbone to impeach him. Wouldn’t bother me at all to see him perp walked in a chain gang with his cabinet members and Czars.

  BODYBAG, Good job, man. I will have to wait until the 6th. The poll is just slightly over a mile down the highway from here and I’ll be in town. I live in a rural area of Alabama, and those disappearing signs will be no problem here. This used to be Democrat only state from just post Civil War until changes started to come around back in the mid to late ’80s. Now that the old dyed in the wool Democrats have seen what the party has become, they simply vote Republican to the point that we even have a Republican State Congress too. Even though we still have far more registered Democrats than Republican.

  RJ That would be our fallback position and if the house and senate were a super majority they could take him down.The question would be do they have the guts to impeach? We know there’s enough to draw up articles of impeachment against the entire regime so a conviction in the senate is likely. These people laugh at everything. I saw this live, I am so sick over this. I cried myself to sleep last night, I had a nightmare about those poor americans waiting for help to come. How can any soldier, any american sit and watch another american being attacked and not help? I don’t understand it in our inner cities and I don’t understand it overseas. We are all americans.
