While criticizing Mitt Romney and his “Romnesia” on the campaign trail today, President Obama told voters in Iowa that they could “take a videotape” of things he said 10-12 years ago, and be able to say he is the “same guy” with the “same values,” who cares about the “same people.”

“There’s no more serious issue on a presidential campaign than trust,” he added seriously.  “Trust matters.”

Well, inevitably we took notice and decided to see if Obama’s statement added up. Buzzfeed chose to make good on Obama’s challenge, too, compiling a bevy of clips of Obama’s past remarks throughout the past decade, from his stance on gay marriage to the Cuba embargo.

Below are a few of the videos they chose, mixed in with a few of our own.

First, his remarks from today:

Now the evidence:

Cost of Energy– ‘Under My Plan of a Cap and Trade System, Electricity Rates Would Necessarily Skyrocket’

Gay Marriage– ‘Marriage is between a man and a woman”

Health Care– ‘I happen to be a proponent of a single payer health care system’

National Debt– Bush Adding $4 Trillion to the Debt is ‘Irresponsible’ and ‘Unpatriotic’

America’s Standing in 2008– ‘America has shown arrogance…been dismissive, even derisive’

Executive Privilege: Tendency in the Bush administration to ‘hide behind executive privilege’ (which he did with Fast and Furious)

America-Bashing Pastor Jeremiah Wright– ‘A friend, a great leader, not just in Chicago, but all across the country’

Redistribution of Wealth– ‘I believe when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody’
