Weinstein Seal Team 6 Movie Edited to Bolster Obama Presence

President Obama often comes under fire for exaggerating his direct role in the killing of Osama bin Laden in May of 2011, but a new movie backed by mega-Democrat donor Harvey Weinstein has apparently been edited to feature the president even more.

Set to air just two days before the election on National Geographic– which has roughly 85 million viewers– the New York Times reports that “SEAL Team 6: The Raid on Osama bin Laden” was recut to feature news and documentary clips that bolster Obama’s presence throughout the film.

The New York Times continues:

In a joint interview on Tuesday Mr. Weinstein; the film’s director, John Stockwell; and others said the changes to the film were not politically motivated but were meant to give the film a stronger sense of realism. Some of the Obama moments were added at the suggestion of Mr. Weinstein, they said, using material gathered by Meghan O’Hara, a producer who worked closely with the documentarian Michael Moore on politically charged projects like “Fahrenheit 9/11” and “Sicko.”

But Mr. Stockwell said he had included Mr. Obama as a character in his film from the beginning, and had actually shrunk his screen time somewhat. And Howard T. Owens, the chief executive of the National Geographic Channel, who joined the call, said his company had insisted on removing a scene that showed Mitt Romney appearing to oppose the raid.

“We wouldn’t air this if it were propaganda,” he said.

The scenes featuring Mr. Obama include an opening with him at the annual White House correspondents’ dinner just a day before the raid (which was added by Ms. O’Hara); another that catches him on a long, lonely walk as he presumably deliberates his weighty decision; and — without getting too deeply into spoilers — another that finds him declaring at the end, “Justice has been done.” [Emphasis added]

Stockwell included an essay titled, “Can a Movie Swing an Election?” in the official press kit, but reiterates that the film is not political. Rather, he explained, he was “struck by what a terrible ‘political’ decision Obama made in green-lighting the mission.”

When asked if they see anything questionable in the decision to air the film on November 4, National Geographic chief executive Howard T. Owens told the New York Times that “other than being commercially opportunistic,” they “weren’t considering the election.”

Government officials have already accused the White House of at least granting unusual access to the filmmakers, if not actually leaking privileged information to help bolster the film.

Stockwell, however, says his sources were “ex-Navy SEALS and sources within the intelligence community,” which could technically include officials close to the Obama administration.

What remains to be seen is whether, like Stockwell wrote, the movie will “swing” the election in Obama’s favor, or whether this too will alienate those who think Obama is taking too much credit for the decision to kill the most wanted terrorist in the world.

  As a Navy veteran, I am so disgusted at the level of disgrace and pandering of the Presidency to media by the O. If he wanted to be a “star” he should have gotten a sindicated talk show or acting job.
  
  Get the body language experts:
  
  5 men with arms crossed and tightened jaw
  O hunched over and hidden like a benched bb player (looks like a minor player to me)
  B opened, front and interested
  H up front, one hand over mouth and the other relaxed in lap, concerned
  Military guy distracted typing away, just another day in the office for him
  
  The seals and the Pakistan doctor were the risk takers putting their lives on the line. B & H probably had to sit the man-child down in the corner and tell him, we are gonne get this guy. O needs to be careful about movies; as he pointed out for 2 weeks after Benhazi and endangering more Americans and embassies, the brothers in the desert riot, shoot, and bomb.

  No intention of watching this drivel or the other Obama propaganda film about the same operation, “Zero Dark Thirty”. What a coincidence..Hollywood seems to have been given access to highly classified operational information just in time to produce two films about the OBL operation in an election year.
  I’ll watch “Act of Valor” if I want to watch a film that praises the SEALS.

  I for one will not go to Dear Leaders propaganda movie on how great a leader he is. I think everyone else should too. Lets do it and send a message to Hollywood.

Wow. Every real SEAL should be hanging their heads right now. Letting Obama get credit for what they did is just sick. It should not be a hard decision to take out the person who killed over 3000 people in NYC. SEAL join to do this very type of thing. They spend their lives training to do it.

This IS propaganda. If it was not they would not be releasing it 2 days before the election. This should not be on television to begin with. How SEAL and our intelligence agencies work should not be disclosed to the public. This is about highlighting the only thing Obama has done to actually fight terrorism since he has been in office. He has pumped up the Taliban in Afghanistan by announcing when the US is leaving. Iraq is being run over by Islamic extremism. When our embassies were being over run by Islamic terrorists on 9/11 they were yelling, “Obama! We are all Osama!” Yeah, he has them on the run alright!

Am I not the only one who believes that in the photo in The Situation room,Obama looks like the smallest and most insignificant person in the room??? Wouldn’t a bold and decisive military leader be seated at the head of the table where the General is seated??? Oh, wait, silly question. The bold, decisive military leader is sitting at the head of the table. The pissant little boy is off to the side WATCHING like I did 45 years ago at my Grandfather’s poker games.

I agree the movie and its timing stink. But then, it’s no more than this president has showed up for the last 4 years.
but I had to laugh looking at that picture. Notice who is NOT sitting at the head of the table, who does NOT have a computer screen in front of him, who is NOT dressed professionally. Obama is shoved into the corner like some little child allowed to sit and watch the grown ups at work. A pity more people won’t see that picture and what it really implies.

  I wonder if Harvey included the memo and comments by staffers that said Obama was not even IN THE ROOM until 5 minutes before the mission was launched….
  he spent the morning on the golf course….came back for lunch…took a nap….and then was escorted into the room at the last minute to watch the big boys and girls do their jobs….
  will they also mention that the photo was taken 30 minutes AFTER the SEALs hit the ground and the mission was over…the picture of them all in the War Room is from AFTER the attack when the SEALs finally sent back the short message…”We have Geronimo. Geronimo KIA”.. that message was sent as the SEALs were boarding the choppers OUT of the compound…nearly 30 minutes after all the shooting had stopped….

  Early voting in NC has already exposed HUGE voting fraud….the digital voting machines automatically default to saying you voted for Obama…even after you touch the box for Mitt Romney, when the confirmation page comes up…it still shows that you voted for Obama….
  People are screaming about it and all the polling place does is make them change machine…which does the same thing at times…..
  Someone has altered the programming of the machines to pick Obama no matter what you choose… I am sure the “problem” is that it was NOT supposed to show the change on the confirmation screen only in the official tally results printed at the end of the day and sent to the State for verification..
  
  Similar stories are coming up in FLA and OH where only Republican voters are getting email and post letters saying their polling place has changed or that they are ineligible to vote due to being included on a voting fraud list as an invalid voter…..
  
  scary…scary.. So, Weinstein and ‘team obama’ have edited in MORE footage of obama playing golf as he received the news that Leon Panetta had given the green light for our Navy SEALs to launch the OSB raid? Since obama’s involvement was nothing more than changing out of his golf togs and reluctantly traveling to the situation room to watch the raid unfold, it’s hard to imagine how adding MORE obama footage to this silly campaign infomercial is going to make it more true-to-life.

  It is still amazing to me that the killing of our ambassador and others was “supposedly” sparked by some stupid, unseen, you tube video but no one got upset over the killing of Osama in the Arab world. It simply never made any sense. The magnitude of this cover up is so much worse than Watergate. Where is Woodward and his buddies now? I believe it was Laura Ingram (sic) who asked where the journalists were and why weren’t they on the story. No answer from the panel of journalists. Dead silence. Unreal world we live in. If people are willing to die for this country, why aren’t they willing to go to jail for this country and stand up with the truth? I checked the so called media last night and it was pretty paltry on coverage of the timeline that has come out. Someone could win a Pulitzer for actually doing something–unless the Pulitzer is left wing as well.

  Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, underwear bomber, repeatedly has said that Osama Bin Laden as well as Anwar al-Aulaqi are both alive. Hum. Both were supposed to have been killed by the current President who seems to have an endearing affection for the Muslim brotherhood and the advancement of radical Islam worldwide. It seems strange. OBL was supposedly killed and buried at sea. There was no postmortem, no nothing. Anwar al-Aulaqi was supposedly killed by a drone. The attack was corroborated by whom exactly. The “witnesses” to this would have had to have been someone close to al-Aulaqi. Again there was no postmortem and no investigation. Lying, known as taqiyya or in some cases kitman, is permitted in Islam for the furtherance of the faith.
