China Reportedly Just Cracked Down on Obama.com

The Obama campaign’s donation site “appears to [have been] built with an uncharacteristic lack of security where foreign donations are concerned,” TheBlaze’s Mytheos Holt reported earlier this month, allowing for the independently owned Obama.com to possibly solicit millions in foreign campaign contributions.

The campaign’s official website does not require visitors wishing to make a donation to provide their CCV number (the 3-4 digit code that appears on the back of most credit cards).

Now considering the fact that these unique codes can be used to indicate the location of the cardholder and the fact that Obama.com, which redirects users to the Obama campaign’s donation site, receives approximately 68 percent of its traffic from web addresses outside the U.S., according to a recent Government Accountability Institute report, it’s easy to see why some suspect the Obama campaign of illegally raising funds from foreign sources.

But now it seems the eyebrow-raising Obama.com has run into some trouble — with the Chinese.

“The Chinese government has blocked access to a Web site used as a conduit for donations to President Obama’s re-election,” according to a new report from The Post.

“The action comes following a report in Sunday’s Post that the Obama.com site had been registered to Robert Roche, an Obama campaign bundler who lives and works in China,” the report adds.

Oddly enough, the name of the company Roche chairs in Shanghai is Acorn International (no, it’s not what you think. It’s just an infomercial group).

“It’s a shocking revelation that the Chinese government wants to do something that the Obama campaign wouldn’t do. They’re more sensitive to American sovereignty and campaign-finance law than the Obama campaign,” GAI founder and co-chairman Steve Bannon told The Post.

But let’s back up for a second. Is it really that simple for a website owned by a U.S. businessman living in Shanghai to solicit foreign donations?

You’d be surprised.

Ok, I’m thinking this thru a moment. First, Obama needs to further exposed on accepting foreign donations. That in itself is disturbing, but not surprising. However, it is most interesting to notice that China does not want anyone from their country to donate to this guy. I thought China was Obama’s big friend with all those White House invites and the changing of the colors at the empire state building to celebrate their anniversary and all. hmmm

  China sees the writeing on the wall. If we go under we won’t pay back the money we owe, but they are really afraid they will lose their best customer. You know darn good and well Obama knows all about this, and it was a trick probably used in the 2008 campaign, but never acted upon. I’m telling you, Obama and his entire administration need to be jailed for treason! In my sixty odd years, I’ve never heard of such illegal nonsense and the activities Obama has gotten away with.
Further more, I’d like to know why Congress has allowed this nonsense to go this far? What is wrong with lawmakers who can see very plainly that what happened in Libya was due to the lack of concern by the Obama Administration. He may have made a short and sweet speech in the Rose Garden, but his **** was on Air Force 1, just after that heading to Las Vegas to campaign and play. He was no more concerned about our Ambassador, or his poor security men, then the man in the frigging moon. He’s the sorriest excuse for a president then I’ve every encountered. Obama should be thankful it wasn’t him who was dragged through the streets as was Chris. My heart and soul goes out to Chris’s family, and I’m tired of looking at Hillary’s quirky smiles when it comes to her staying or leaving politics. Personally, I wish the woman would bow out and leave the USA alone. She’s just as crooked as the entire Obama Administration. She’s done nothing to make us proud. I think the liberals have pushed much too far in four years. If Mitt is elected, and I pray he will be, he’ll have a great deal of clean up. We’re tired of the struggles and lies!

  All of us complaining about O-bomb-o and complaining about this and complaining about that, but who among you has actually done anything to get something done about all of this. Have any of you written to or emailed or telephoned your representatives? Contact your Senators and your Congressmen. If you don’t act they won’t either. They are all too comfy-cozy in their lives to make any waves unless of course they think their livelyhoods are being threatened. Some of those Senators and Congressmen come up for re-election this time around. It isn’t to late to impress them with your dissatisfaction of what is going on. Contact them now. Stop what you are doing and contact them right this minute. Yesterday I voted and my Congressman is up for re-election. I did vote for him again but I also then sent him an email asking what is being done about (any) of this crap and telling him not to disappoint me. These guys work for us. WE are the reason THEY are there. To repeat an old Bill Cosby laugh-line; “WE brought them into this world and WE CAN TAKE THEM OUT”. There is nothing wrong with expecting them to do their jobs. Contact Boehner also and give him something to cry about. THIS IS NUTS AND MUST BE STOPPED!

  BODYBAG, I certainly hope that you are right. I know that some of the polls are showing this as a close race which surprises me. In the past so many of the polls have shown the Dem in the lead and so heavily at that. Then the Republican wins. Then sometimes the Dem wins too. I know not to trust polls, period. What really concerns me are the voting methods open today, and Obama put out a memo just today saying that he is going to be the very first sitting president to benefit from the now available early voting. When I caught that, it just sounded as if he was too confident. But, by God, I hope and pray that you are right.

I mean, let’s assume for the moment that Obama wins the election. If this happens, which I certainly hope it doesn’t, but if it does, then I fear that we will be bogged down in impeachment proceedings against Obama for the duration of his second term.
