Wait Until You Hear About the Latest Things MSNBC’s Chris Matthews Finds Racist: ‘It’s a Sickness by the White People’

During “Hardball” on Wednesday, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews took on the daunting task of calling out all the “racist” things conservatives say, which, according to him, constantly “trickles out” every week. For anyone who is keeping score, the words “monkeying,” “watermelon,” and the phrase “shuck and jive” are all racist, the host revealed.

“The blatantness of this thing, I think, went through the roof the other day when Sarah Palin, who people have mixed views, put out a Facebook post titled ‘Obama’s shuck and jive ends with Benghazi lies,’” Matthews said to his guest, syndicated columnist Clarence Page.

“A dog whistle is a dog whistle. A trumpet call is another,” he continued, adding that “shuck and jive” has an “ethnic connection.”

After explaining the history of the term and mentioning that it originated in the South, Page said it disturbed him more that Palin was “jumping to conclusions” regarding the terrorist attack on the U.S. mission on Benghazi.

“That’s just paranoid politics,” he said.

But Matthews was sure it was just racism. “When you keep doing this stuff like — look at this Thompson, the kid of Tommy Thompson,” Matthews said. “I got nothing against Tommy Thompson, but he’s raising his kids wrong when the kid shouts out at some event that…[Obama] is from Kenya.”

Matthews said the racism just “trickles out” every couple weeks. The MSNBC host even found a way to find racist undertones in Donald Trump’s statement that Obama was “monkeying” with the unemployment numbers when the rate dropped to 7.8 percent earlier this month.

Jonathan Alter, Bloomberg View columnist and MSNBC contributor, agreed with Matthews and said conservatives are displaying “rank racism.”

“Shuck and Jive, that’s like talking about watermelon or, for Jews, talking about Jews are greedy or Irish are drunk or whatever. These are racist tropes and we need to call them what they are,” Alter said.

Matthews and Alter also agreed that Trumps “big Obama announcement” on Wednesday, offering $5 million for the president’s college transcripts, was racist as well and about proving Obama was an “affirmative action” student.

“He’s basically saying Barack Obama was too stupid to be at Columbia because he was an affirmative action student,” Alter added. “It’s racist.”

Matthews followed up with this extremely difficult to follow statement: “Anybody out there, by the way, thinks we’re saying things, it’s over and over again. And if you think we’re saying things, you’re dead wrong and you’re dangerous.”

Got that? Good.

“As a white person, I think it’s a statement against the white people to talk like this,” Matthews said after playing a clip of Mitt Romney surrogate John Sununu saying he wishes Obama would learn how to be an “American.”

“It’s a sickness by the white people. Anyway, they ought to be ashamed of themselves,” he concluded.

For the record, there was nothing remotely racist in my use of the phrase “shuck and jive” – a phrase which many people have used, including Chris Matthews, Andrew Cuomo, and White House Press Secretary Jay Carney to name a few off the top of my head. In fact, Andrew Cuomo also used the phrase in reference to Barack Obama, and the fact that Mr. Cuomo and I used the phrase in relation to President Obama signifies nothing out of the ordinary. I would have used the exact same expression if I had been writing about President Carter, whose foreign policy rivaled Obama’s in its ineptitude, or about the Nixon administration, which was also famously rocked by a cover-up.

Can we offer some group therapy to these delusional commentators at MSNBC? Somehow make it a donation so they can see not all solutions come from government. Just like Beck mentioned in Cowards, they need to get out more instead of always being around people who think just like them. Then again, I’m not sure if Matthews can handle alternate views in his fragile state. He may have a breakdown any day now.

Chris Matthews is being what people accused Beck of being. The only difference is I’m actually reading Chris’s comments while those who attacked Beck often never read or heard a word Beck actually said.

Found this MRC article when looking up “schuck and jive.” I guess he forgets. Oh, by the way, there are a bunch of restaurants listed with that name. I don’t think I would have used the phrase, but there it is.

  I’m of the “Boomer” generation, and so is Chris Matthews. All I say will about my age, is that Chris is older than I am. A quick check on the Wiki, shows that Chris was mostly educated in Catholic schools, so was I.
  
  I contend that racism by Whites is mostly dead in America. My grandparents thought that Germans and Italians were monsters because of World War II. They told their children, (my parent’s generation) that marriage to a German or Italian would be unacceptable.
  
  My parents generation totally ignored this dictate, and married Germans, French, and Italians. My parents taught their children that race, ethnicity, and class had no bearing on the worth of a person. Further along, my generation did not teach our children to be racists.
  
  The result? Most people in their forties are not racists. The proof of this is that the USA elected the first Black President. We see interracial marriages just about everywhere. White parents adopt Black children, Black parents adopt White children.
  
  Chris, the racists are dead and buried. It seems that no one but you, cares that Obama is Black.

Chris Matthews really needs to lay off his continual harping on racism. Doing so only makes him appear arrogant. He seems to think he is so much more superior to everyone else because he bashes his own race. The mere mention of racial differences doesn’t by any stretch of the imagination infer racial superiority. It is simply noting the differences. That is all. I am a white woman and my husband is black. I tease him about not being able to see him in the dark, and about him liking fried chicken. And he teases me about my white skin glowing, and that I cook good, for a white woman, even though I don’t cook southern food. In Chris’ mind, however, I’m the racist but my husband is not. Why? Because apparently it’s only white people who are racist. At least, I have never ever heard him make any sort of reference to black racism. Chris Matthews is an imbecile.

Amazing! With all the information pointing to a cover up by this administration of Benghazi. With all of the cover up of Fast and Furious, this freaking network still pretends nothing happens and talks about racism. How put of touch can a network actually be and still have viewers?
