New Explosive Benghazi Allegations: CIA Operators Told to ‘Stand Down’ During Attack As 3 Urgent Requests for Military Back-Up Were Denied

Explosive new allegations surrounding the Benghazi attack emerged this morning, with FOX News’ Jennifer Griffin reporting that sources have confirmed that three urgent requests for military assistance sent from the CIA annex were all denied; CIA operators were apparently told to “stand down” rather than respond when shots were heard around 9:40 p.m. on September 11. Following the alleged developments, Charles Woods, father of ex-Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods who was killed in the attack, passionately responded to this new information on Glenn Beck’s radio program (see his comments at the end of the article).
Let’s begin by examining the new-found allegations: Glen Doherty and Woods, the two former Navy SEALS who were among the four Americans inevitably murdered, allegedly disobeyed orders from superiors to “stand down” in the wake of the attack. Despite being told by higher-ups not to respond, they purportedly decided to go to the main consulate building to help U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and others who were under siege.
While it was previously known that these men arrived on the scene to provide assistance, the alleged “stand down” orders and the repeatedly-denied requests for military assistance are new developments to a story that seems to be continuously unraveling.
When the attack first took form, Doherty and Woods were at a secure CIA annex only one mile away from the chaos unfolding at the compound. After the men heard shots fired, they promptly let the chain of command know about the situation on the ground. However, FOX’s sources claim that they were told to refrain from action. This same mandate was given to the men when they called a second time just one hour later to report that the dangerous situation was still unfolding at the consulate.

After being told twice to refrain from involvement, Woods, Doherty and two others ignored orders and made their way to the main compound, where violence was raging. At this point, the building was on fire and shots were exchanged, however they took action. FOX News has more:
Woods, Doherty and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the Consulate which at that point was on fire….The quick reaction force from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the Consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.
At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.
Earlier today, TheBlaze reported about the questions surrounding the lack of a military response to the situation on the ground. Sources appear to claim that there were potential options that could have been pursued, although these avenues were reportedly not taken during the September 11 attack. While the forces available at Sigonella could have been flown into Benghazi in less than two hours, they, too, were also allegedly told to “stand down.”
Around 3 a.m. that evening, a pro-U.S. Libyan militia finally showed up at the CIA annex. And an American Quick Reaction Force that was sent from Tripoli arrived at the Benghazi airport at 2 a.m., but was delayed for 45 minutes over transportation confusion. In both instances, though, the arrivals were hours after the initial attack took place.
FOX News has more regarding how Woods and Doherty were killed hours after the initial attack on the consulate commenced. Rather than perishing at the main compound, the ex-Navy SEALS were back at the CIA annex when the attach took place:
Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, were part of a Global Response Staff or GRS that provides security to CIA case officers and provides countersurveillance and surveillance protection. They were killed by a mortar shell at 4 a.m. Libyan time, nearly seven hours after the attack on the Consulate began — a window that represented more than enough time for the U.S. military to send back-up from nearby bases in Europe, according to sources familiar with Special Operations. Four mortars were fired at the annex. The first one struck outside the annex. Three more hit the annex.
Here’s additional information about the deadly attack that took Woods and Doherty’s lives, as reported by CNN back in September:
After arriving back at the annex, the incident was far from over for the security team, which included Woods and Doherty. An attack was launched on the annex — this one more intense than the initial assault on the main building.
Military officials in Benghazi told CNN that rocket-propelled grenades were among the heavy firepower used by the attackers at the annex, with one official saying mortars were also fired.
“It was during that (second attack) that two additional U.S. personnel were killed and two others were wounded,” a senior administration official said last week in providing details of the attack. Those two victims were later confirmed to be Doherty and Woods.
Earlier today, TheBlaze covered debate surrounding drones and whether or not U.S. officials had the ability to watch a portion of the Libyan attack in real time. Considering these latest allegations, this question seems increasingly important.
Some, like reporter Geraldo Rivera, have dismissed the notion that the battle was being viewed live by officials as it progressed. But an October 20 report from CBS News claims that a portion of the attack was potentially seen by officials. In fact, according to the network, “hours after the attack began, an unmanned Predator drone was sent over the U.S. mission in Benghazi, and that the drone and other reconnaissance aircraft apparently observed the final hours of the protracted battle.”
FOX, too, reported today that there were two military surveillance drones that were sent to Benghazi after the attack on the U.S. consulate began. Both of these drones had the capability to send images back to government officials (including the White House situation room), although it’s not immediately clear how, if at all, these images were used.
On Thursday, TheBlaze’s Madeleine Morgenstern covered Defense Secretary Leon Panetta’s response to questions surrounding military reaction. He said that forces did not intervene because officials did not have enough “real-time information” about what was happening on the ground.
“The basic principle is that you don’t deploy forces into harm’s way without knowing what’s going on, without having some real-time information about what’s taking place,” Panetta said. “And as a result of not having that kind of information…[we] felt very strongly that we could not put forces at risk in that situation.”
On Friday morning, radio host Glenn Beck interviewed Charles Woods, father of ex-Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods. He reacted to the explosive, new allegations, deriding the “stand down” orders and calling for “moral strength.” Here is his complete on-air reaction:
“That is cowardice by the people that issued that order. And our country is not a country of cowards. Our country is the greatest nation on Earth. And what we need to do is we need to raise up a generation of American heroes just like Ty who is an American hero. But in order to do that, we need to raise up a generation that has not just physical strength but moral strength. We do not need another generation of liars who lack moral strength.”

During his reaction to the new allegations this morning, Beck was candid, sharing both awe and dismay. “Today officially is the day that I no longer recognize my country,” he said (read and see Beck’s entire reaction here).
These revelations come one day after TheBlaze reported that President Barack Obama first alluded to his belief that the Benghazi assault was pre-planned just hours after the assault unfolded. He made these claims in an obscure CBS News clip that was part of a larger interview (this portion of his September 12 “60 Minutes” appearance was not originally aired) which came to light over the past few days.
In the days following Obama’s interview, the administration’s claims about the Libya attack changed drastically, as officials reported that it was the result of an anti-Islam film called “Innocence of Muslims.” Considering Obama’s original views on the matter, the timeline of the administration’s rhetoric has come under scrutiny.

Folks you need to start ticking off those around you (friends family coworkers etc) and push this cover-up story. People need to know at what lengths this regime will go to to lie to the nation and world. This IS worse than watergate and I contend Iran-Contra. I am daring to judge them as un-American and a disgraceful hypocrite if they ignore this and say they support our military. I am so pissed that I will call them out on their hypocrisy.
At this point, anyone who supports this disgrace of an administration, you are un-American. You may be an American citizen, but you do not deserve that title. If our government will not take action then we the people should do as the NBPP did and announce that we WILL take care of it ourselves.

We the people have lost any control over our government, after King Hussein and his thugs fix this election by having outsiders to come and monitor the election, we will have no other recourse, but to form our state militias and protect our freedoms in the streets of America.
The only difference when our citizens take to the streets than that of the middle easterners is we will have a substantial stock pile of arms within to defend our freedom.
We obviously will not receive help from the UN for they are paid for by our own government.

There was not one GI within 1000 miles of Benghazi that wouldn’t have volunteered to help extract the Benghazi heroes, but that did not fit the Muslim president’s (Obama) agenda. To hide his Muslim tendencies, Obama and Hillary concocted a plan to cover their sorry asses, and it was to blame a YouTube video for the violence.
When the bodies of the four slain men were brought to Andrews AFB on 9/14, Hillary Clinton told the father of Tyrone Woods: “DON’T WORRY, WE’RE GOING TO HAVE THE VIDEOMAKER ARRESTED.” And on 9/27, an innocent American was FALSELY arrested in furtherance of carrying out the Whie House and State Department Conspiracy.

The House intelligence committee is already moving on the issues related to Benghazi. Not only the security issues related to the attack but also the issues related to the video as becoming the root cause of the attack.
Just remember that unlike Mr Carney, the House Intelligence Committee can not act on unfounded information, therefore its going to take them a little time to gather up the facts related to the security at Benghazi and the video.
Its my understanding from very reputable sources that Americans can rest assured that neither of these issues (Security at Benghazi) and the (responsibility for the Video), are going away. Regardless of politics the house intelligence committee plans on seeing these issues through to the end. Remember this activity involves some very senior officials within the government, therefore there is need to acquire accurate details before proceeding, Especially since its likely we are talking about people being charged in these situations.
This situation is very serious with the possibility of collusion for or with US enemies quite possibly taking place related to both the security of Benghazi and Especially with the UN/Video issue. Collusion with the enemy as you are aware, is often referred to as Treason. Collusion is a conspiracy between parties where one of the purposes is to deceive, also to fraud and usually always illegally.

Hillary Clinton, Leon Panetta and Susan Rice should step down immediatelty and congress really needs to look into impeachment proceedings. I’m not the type who throws around impeachment at the drop of a hat either. This administration is responsibile for the deaths of those four men and they have been lying to the American people about the attack since day one. If the American people allow this to happen now it’s over for us as a country of liberty and freedom. And it’s time for Mitt Romney to make a statement too. Leadership doesn’t start the day you’re elected president but now too. Congress, do your sworn duty and protect this country from tyranny!

This did not end well for king David and the nation of Israel suffered with him … eventually the king and nation recovered because David repented. We do not have that hope because our “leaders” are un-repentant.
I believe those men died to cover some sin from our “leader/s”. Glenn has reported that we are running guns to terrorists in Libya and Syria….could that be why?…..

He seemed to be talking from personal experience. Even staying it could be to his own peril. Glenn must find this guy, our someone with similar personal knowledge and is willing to speak. He said the POTUS had to know, and was one of only a small group of people who could have given the order to stand down. Check Rush’s show. The call was right around 1:40pm ET.

These brave men disobeyed Hussein’s orders and went into the safe house to try and save Stevens and Smith, and then ran back to the compound to save it as well from the ongoing onslaught from al-Qaeda, which lasted another six-seven hours.

NOT ONE person has come forward? not one person with morals? as i have said before…where are the republicans? where are all the “intelligence” people who had to know that this was going on? consider the chain of command involved in this. i’ve been calling this treason for a month. if i could see it, who in the government knew and remained silent? as i’ve said…trials, impeachment, imprisonment, BEFORE the election.

Four Americans were MURDERED, one a deliberate target for an assassination, coordinated by our OWN PRESIDENT! I am up-hauled that there is even talk about the election on the news. The story that should be driving the entire nation right now is, “PRESIDENT OBAMA IMPEACHED AND ARRESTED FOR TREASON”. The entire election should be dwarfed and shat on by an arrest of this administration. None of my friends seem to care. I will try, at least, to get them to care, and that this stuff does matter. It matters a LOT. But if not, I will no longer consider us friends. This is not about politics, I can differ in politics and still be friends. This, today, right now, we are facing our ENEMIES square in the face.

Because this is not about politics, this is about our future as America. I’ve realized the startling possibility that what I call home would be no more, and it’s terrifying! I’ve become so consumed by this, that I’ve put my future dreams on hold to help keep America alive. Because if America is gone, it won’t matter how hard I push for my personal dreams.
My friends live in this bubble, where they believe no matter what happens, America cannot go away, and they take their freedoms for granted. They have no idea how lucky they have it, and the privilege to call themselves free people, to remember the sacrifices of those to preserve that freedom. I don’t want those people’s sacrifices to be in vein. America CAN go away, and the only way to keep it, is to know it’s history, know the enemy, know your allies, rally with those allies, and fight for it. But too many people are just going to bury their heads in the sand and hope for the best. They say it doesn’t affect them, yet they can’t understand why gas is so expensive.

Old folks not able to park close to the R/R event at Red Rocks walked over 2 miles (uphill) to attend. The numbers for the R/R events are gigantic compared to Obama/Biden. The writing in on the wall for those willing to see. The grassroots realize this election is as important as any in the nations history. There are not enough leftists/illegals to counter the wave that is about to break.

But now that there is evidence that the Turks were there and left unharmed, just before the attack begun, there is obviously something more at play. Stevens was a deliberate target for something deeper, and he was meant to die there.
The SEALs knew Stevens was in trouble and were told to stand down. Stevens was supposed to die alone, for what reason I don’t fully understand yet, but these guys refused to let him die and went in anyway. As such, they became collateral.

They should start praying now because, while I wouldn’t wish anything bad on a good person, people like Obama is not a good person. He is an elitest who thinks he knows best for us, thinking we are all just sheep. If he is the first president to be executed, along with his conspiritors, then I would have no objections. I wouldn’t be happy. I wouldn’t be sad. I won’t let him impact me anymore, but I won’t ever forget this. This sort of tyranny needs to be taught to children, so that everyone knows that the government is made by people, and people are flawed, especially it’s current occupiers. May God help us through the difficult times we’ll go through after this, and see to it that the crimes of these monsters in human skin get what they deserve.

America is not just the dirt you stand on, it is the idea of freedom. Where freedom is, so there is America. Even if America is no longer in North America between Canada and Mexico. Do what you need to do to be free, hopefully if the first shot is fired to free the land formally known as America happens, you will return. I’m beginning to look abroad as well for greener pastures. No offense to JFK, but I DO ask ONE thing from my country, and that is liberty. If my country cannot give me liberty, then we must part ways, one way, or the other.

This has me so sick to my stomach of the lies from the White House. I serviced in the military and have worked for the government, I know how they work and someone knows the truth and I pray to God that they speak out and tell the truth.
