Retired Lt. Col. & Special Ops Planner Explains WH Protocol: ‘The President Knew Immediately’ About Benghazi Attack

Calling into Rush Limbaugh’s radio show on Friday, a retired Lt. Col. and Special Operations planner for 15 years said standard protocol dictates that as soon as the White House situation room received the emails about the attack in Benghazi, someone was supposed to go directly to the president of the United States and brief him.

If the Obama administration asserts that the president was not immediately made aware of the attack, the caller said, it’s a “bald faced lie.”

“The personal security detail for the ambassador notified the communications room in Tripoli, who then, on the top secret side, sent a message to the White House situation room that the ambassador was in peril,” the caller said. “They did that by code word and it would have been within minutes of the attack commencing.”

He continued: “The White House situation room has a list of what’s called essential elements and friendly information…certain things go right to the person that is standing next to the president, both military and civilian leadership. So he would have known within minutes, or is supposed to be informed within minutes, because an ambassador is a four-star equivalent; a very high, very important person.”

The retired Lt. Colonel says the White House “can not deny that the president knew immediately.”

“They are. They are,” Limbaugh replied.

“Well, it’s a bald faced lie,” the caller shot back. “I am giving you some inside baseball information.”

Go to war? no. Send operators, Marines, planes, Apaches, etc, YES. The military had assets on ‘hot standby” begging to go aid and rescue the Ambassador and the others. It was not a matter of not being given the order to go. It was that they were given the order not to go.
  
  YOUR president and Secretary of State knew that two hours after the start of the attack that Ansar al-Sharia took responsibility for it. Ansar al-Sharia is made up of former rebels from the February 17 Brigade, the very group the State Dept hired for security of the Consulate. The State Dept denied many requests for additional security in spite of previous attacks.
  
  Afterwards, it was the cover up. In spite of knowing that Ansar al-Sharia took responsibility. Obama and Hillary lied. LIED. Hillary told the Father of one of the dead Seals that they would arrest and prosecute the filmmaker ( for using his 1st Amendment rights).
  
  Nixon resigned in the face of impeachment for a lie and cover up.
  Bill Clinton WAS impeached for lying.
  The left was screaming to impeach Bush for lying.
  Here Obama has been caught in a lie and a cover up that left 4 dead and yet the left doesnt seem to care.

What he’s talking about, Flash messages, has been true since the 80′s. When i was active duty, we got a flash message of a Russian submarine off the coast of Bermuda that was on the surface spewing green smoke. You may remember it, something like 1985. We were doing a drill (playing the Russians are coming, the Russians are coming) and it stopped IMMEDIATELY and the top analysts were called to the room to evaluate what was going on. The Russians ended up sinking their own submarine. It had a missle (yes, nuclear but not armed) fired with the tube doors shut, and the propelant blew up and killed 3 men. They did an emergency surface and we picked up both. If I hadn’t taken that teletype (the method used then) to the real time watch officer, I would have been court martialed.

He may not have known as fast as any other past president would have known, despite better technology, if he was entirely focused as he has been for the last year on campaigning…

i’m sure his presidential ipad can peek into the videos, but he was not even reading his daily briefs, so the first he was definitely aware would have been maybe 5 minutes slower than G W, when a staffer said, ‘Mr. President, you need to see this.’ After that it was all there in HD color… his plan to surreptitiously arm one side of the Syrian conflict biting him in the bottom and costing four Americans their lives…

it’s certainly not the ‘optimal’ way to lead any country.

I just get a really bad feeling about this. I don’t think this administration is going down even if voted out. I see rigged elections, UN take-over, martial law, anything they can throw at us. I see threats that Romney will end welfare, take away the freebies, in order to get riots. If we can’t vote him out, while he’s lame duck, he’ll take over. We have become a third world country that he so wanted, and his mother so loved. I guess Michelle is proud of her country now that it’s like Africa.

  Yeah. I heard it’s going to do $500 trillion dollars worth of damage. The old computers had the strom skirting the coast before going out to sea, but the new models show it making a left hand turn and plowing into NYC.

Geraldo should not be having input on anything military. He drew pictures in the sand as to where the unit he was filming with was located that were seen by the enemy. He is an idiot or a traitor. My guess would be the latter. He does nothing but go against Americans at every turn. He is nothing but a sell out.

Barack Obama could care less about these heros that died in Libya…He is focused on winning the election again, and that is his priority. He is a disgrace to the United States of America, the veterans that have fought and died for our country, and he has put politics before making sure our country and our people are safe, which is the number one job of the commander in chief. How anyone can vote for this inept, american, constitution of the United States hater is beyond me………
Please pray for out nation, that God has mercy on us, and we have new leadership in place, that will stand up for jobs, freedom, protect our country, strenghten our military, and get our great country back on track to being the World Leader!

Heads are gonna roll over this incident! Pffft..wait,who am I kidding? I forgot who we’re dealing with. With only This site, and the occasional Fox spot, nothing will come of it. Which is disgusting as they should all hang for treason over this.

I listened. I was almost in tears. Unfortunately this guy probably can’t come public with his story. Those four people were sacrificed by an incompetent and cowardly administration.

  Not only a huge scandal but the President and his White House Cabinet have committed Treason – by any definition they are most certainly guilty of Treason and they have American Citizens blood on their hands. They should be tried and imprisoned! Where are the Wimps we call Congress ?? They will have blood on their hands also if they allow this to slip through the cracks ! Where are you Congress???
