Obama Supporters Slam ‘Romney’ Policies…Then Find Out They’re Actually Obama’s
Back in September, radio personality Howard Stern highlighted an often overlooked aspect of the average voter– namely, that they tend to feel strongly about the candidates they like and dislike, but know very little about what the candidates actually stand for.
In a new video by “We Are Change,” controversial reporter Luke Rudkowski (he appears to have a number of 9/11 “truther” connections) went to New York City, where he told a number of self-described Obama voters that the president’s policies are actually being supported by Mitt Romney.
Though Rudkowski has a history of “stirring the pot,” it’s certainly fascinating to see how people respond.
Romney was quickly called “crazy,” “his” policies deemed “unconstitutional” and “immoral.” The crowd seemed particularly disturbed by the expansion of the Patriot Act, the National Defense Authorization Act (which allows U.S. citizens to be detained without trial), and the proposed “Kill List.”
So what happened when Rudkowski had to tell the group that the policies they just eviscerated were actually being supported by their presidential pick?
To their credit, a number of the voters said they needed to look it up and do some more homework. Others refused to believe the man, while others spun 180 degrees almost immediately.
One girl concluded: “Well, I mean, I understand what you’re saying, but there’s a lot of other reasons I’m going to vote for Obama, and hearing that stuff honestly doesn’t change it…”
In the video’s description, the organization reiterated that their intention is not to support Mitt Romney, but to try to get an honest answer on certain issues.
Slate Magazine adds:
…two experiments are playing out at once. First: People are naturally inclined to oppose any policies if they believe those policies are held by the candidate they’re voting against. Second: How much attention have non-wonks paid to the kill list/disposition matrix? Almost none. How much of that is their fault? Well, how much sober coverage of the drone policy have they seen?

Romney supports both, with less regulation on the oil companies given subsidies. Yeah, he’s a capitalist alright. He also supports every socialist program since the New Deal aside from ‘parts’ of the ACA. (at least that’s where he stands now, who know what tomorrow will bring with Romney) Sounds more like crony capitalism to me.

He has been a congressman for 14 years and has consistently voted for spending,debt ceiling increases,continuing resolutions and unconstitutional auto bailouts and other unconstitutional spending including funding for the implementation of Obamacare. As recently as 9/13/12 he voted for a 1.6 trillion dollar continuing resolution that seriously contributed to the debt. The man is a complete fraud. I too was fooled into thinking he was a fiscally conservative budget guru until i looked at his voting record. Maybe you should do the same.

If you look here: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map.html where it shows the present electoral college with toss up states, and you scroll down and look at the polling in those toss up states, you will see that Obama still has the edge. Now if you go to this map: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map_no_toss_ups.html You can see what the electoral is without toss ups. When you compare the two maps side by side, you see that Obama wins according to the data. The only state that is tied in the polls on the first is Colorado, which if it goes to Romney, only takes 9 electoral votes away from Obama and Obama still wins. I really do not see Colorado going for Romney because of his stance on Marijuana and they are trying to legalize it on their ballot. Now, take into consideration, Paul supporter voting. Another huge disadvantage for Romney, and now you see how dire your hopes for a Romney Presidency is. This is just stating facts as I see them, and to me, it looks like another four because of Reince Priebus and the RNC. Time to ask for his resignation. You guys have to stop thinking that Romney will win by a landslide as the facts do not support it.

Also, the video in which Romney mentioned the 47% was edited, and context was removed. So, the 47% is just another fake narrative. Next…

The government isn’t responsible for morality. As much as I hate abortion, that’s not priority #1. As much as I don’t like homosexuality, it is no business of the governments, not to mention we have bigger fish to fry than whether gay people have the same legal rights as straight people.

Most of what I say to my three favorite paul-bots is to distract them. have some sport with their unrealistic view of what is going on. If we hadn’t had to suffer the last 100 years under the darkness of progressive lucifer worship, their ideal would be possible and probably beneficial. But that is not how it all came down, is it? We are currently looking at a convergence of dynamic forces never seen on this planet, at a time when the population of the earth is polarized as never before.
I don’t believe Mitt will finish his first term, or obama his second. Which ever way it goes our greatest test will be to preserve a spirit of liberty till the end. I am fully prepared to stand til I cannot.

There are 17 million evangelical Christians that have not voted in national elections, some of them ever. And this group has been awakened and are motivated. Most in the midwest. That is almost 20% of expected voters…..20%. And voting AGAINST Obama.

Obama killed Anwar al-Awlaki and two other U.S. citizens in Yemen from a drone attack. Romney agreed with the drop of this bomb. Herman Cain and Ron Paul were against assassinating a US Citizen on foreign soil.
Although this did expose liberal inconsistency – Romney and Obama are not much different in respect to the constitutionality of this type of liberty.
I know that my fellow conservatives on TheBlaze are consistent and have come out against the Patriot Act, NDAA and the killing of citizens without Due Process. Right?
I believe this is the same type of consistency we must have when we pass a law or a program. If you ask most liberals if they would be comfortable with George Bush running Obamacare or our Social Security System what would they say? They would say hell no. Likewise, if you ask a conservative if they would want Obama managing the Department of Homeland Security or Patriot Act, they would say Hell no. To this end we must always use this bar of measurement when we decide if we want a potentially intrusive law or program.
Government governs best when they govern least.

Headlines that day: Romney wants to de-fund the military.
On the patriot act: how do you think the FBI thwarted the attempted bombing of the Federal Reserve a few weeks ago? I can think of at least 4 thwarted terrorist attacks in the last few years. How do you think they did that? Do you think they just got lucky? The answer of course is the patriot act. Would you rather thousands killed in terrorist attacks?
Of course you would rather have had those terrorist attacks because you live in a sterile, strictly theoretical world where cliches like “those that would give up freedom for security deserve neither” rule above common sense.
It’s one of my favorites but its application has to be tempered with sober wisdom.
We live in an open country where our enemies are allowed among us who would and have done great harm to this country. The first responsibility in the Constitution is the defense of this country. How would you protect this country? Pretend the threat doesn’t exist? Be really really nice?
Wisdom and common sense should rule the day not blind idolatry to a cliche. It is true that it’s a fine line we walk but it’s hard to pursue freedom if you’re dead.
This is why I will always oppose those that think we live in a vacuum, we don’t. Only a fool would dismiss wisdom and logic over the Constitution. If we’re dead we’re free right?

However, the thing that sticks out to me is the fact that when presented With the truth at the end all but one of the interviewees dismissed the facts that were so shocking to them when they thought that Romney supported them. They were no longer upset about these issues and merely dismissed them stating they support Obama for other reasons. That is what is so disturbing about this.

No. I would rather have freedom and be safe at the same time. Yes, the saying is very true; those who sacrifice freedom for security will end up with neither.
I understand that living in a country like ours that is free (which is becoming less free by the day) comes with certain risks. The bad guys can freely come in and take advantage of the freedom we have. However, I would pick living in a free country with risks any day over living in a dictatorship/totalitarian country. Is it worth it to be put in a box and told “you’re free” when you’re really not? Not to mention that the whole “if we don’t have this law that will take away more freedom and give the government more power” excuse has been used so many times to tread on the people. The Overton window just keeps moving.

Romney is still the better choice. There is no such thing as a “perfect candidate.” The left’s perfect candidate from 4 years ago was completely manufactured, and unfortunately for us all, his incompetence and failure has worn America down to her core. Romney might not be the perfect candidate, but I’ll vote for him any day over what we have in office now.

I know that my fellow conservatives on TheBlaze are consistent and have come out against the Patriot Act, NDAA and the killing of citizens without Due Process. Right?
I believe this is the same type of consistency we must have when we pass a law or a program. If you ask most liberals if they would be comfortable with George Bush running Obamacare or our Social Security System what would they say? They would say hell no. Likewise, if you ask a conservative if they would want Obama managing the Department of Homeland Security or Patriot Act, they would say Hell no. To this end we must always use this bar of measurement when we decide if we want a potentially intrusive law or program.

Democrats simply do not want voter ID because they know it will diminish there vote totals by removing much of the fraudulent votes they count on each election cycle.
I truly am worried about this country. Have we crossed a point of no return? I hope not. Is Mitt Romney “Mr. Perfect”? No. But give me one President Romney for 10,000 Obama’s.
I only hope that there are still enough wise and thoughtful citizens in the nation that will cast their votes based on sound judgement and actual self-researched knowledge of issues.

If we expect a “New” government to do anything serious about that, well, we needn’t hold our breath! We can take back our government – maybe – but that won’t get us back our Country!!! The left is NOT going away; not unless we the People act to make it happen – and if we did, we would find our “new” government opposing US!

If you hate Obama’s views on constitutionalism then you hate Romney’s views on constitutionalism. If you hate Obama’s views on civil liberties/rights, then you hate Romney’s views on civil liberties/rights. and on and on… There are more similarities than differences. Romney isn’t vowing to end any of Obama’s policies other than the ACA which he’s already flipped on since the debates to now saying he’d keep part of it.

I have discovered in this election that the people who vote Republican will sell their souls to get a Republican in office just like the Dems. will. I can only imagine what excuses they will have to explain Romney’s incompetence after four years if he wins. I suspect unemployment will be over 7% for four more years,gas at 5 dollars a gallon, a 22 trillion dollar national debt, 300,000 troops at war in the middle east and a whole lot of blame and excuses just like the last four years. Also they will be telling us how great he has done and that we need to re-elect him. What do you think?
