Retired Lt. Col.: My Sources Say Obama Was in the Room Watching Benghazi Attack Happen

Retired Army Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer said Saturday he has sources saying President Barack Obama was in the room at the White House watching the assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya unfold.

Two unarmed U.S. drones were dispatched to the consulate and recorded the final hours of the attack, which killed U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

“This was in the middle of the business day in Washington, so everybody at the White House, CIA, Pentagon, everybody was watching this go down,” Shaffer said on Fox News’ “Justice with Judge Jeanine.” “According to my sources, yes, [Obama] was one of those in the White House Situation Room in real-time watching this.”

Shaffer served as a senior operations officer for the Defense Intelligence Agency in Afghanistan in 2003 and wrote a book critical of the policies there. The U.S. government purchased the entire print run for $47,000 in an attempt at censorship just before its 2010 publication, claiming it contained classified material.

Shaffer said the question now is what precisely Obama did or didn’t do in the moments he saw the attack unfolding. The CIA reportedly made three urgent requests for military backup that were each denied.

“He, only he, could issue a directive to Secretary of Defense Panetta to do something. That’s the only place it could be done,” Shaffer said.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said last week the military did not intervene because they did not have enough information about what was happening on the ground.

Col. David Hunt, a Fox News military analyst, said the military could have had jets in the air within 20 minutes and forces on the ground within two hours.

“The issue is always political with the White House, but the secretary of defense gives the order, has to be approved by the White House, they wouldn’t pull the trigger, and it’s disgraceful,” Hunt said. “We’ve got guys dead.”

This should be bigger on The Blaze than the latest Obama commercial. We know they are bad. The whole Democratic party is disgustingly without morals or any sense of decorum. The issue of being too yellow bellied (yes, I said yellow bellied) to send any type of rescue to these people who were being bombarded is disgusting. We pay millions yearly to train special forces for just this emergent type of situation. They were too afraid to send help? Were they afraid they might hurt the terrorists? The administration left these people without security in a radical Islamic hell hole!
Ty Woods and the others that went with him saved over 30 people by rescuing them from that building. They should be honored as heroes instead of their parents being dishonored by a disrespectful vice president. Obama should have hung his head in shame when meeting the parents of the dead CIA people. Instead he was a cold “dead fish.”

The Obama administration and the federal government should be sued by the families of those left to die and most of the major media should be sued for being complicit in the cover up.

A good indicator is the total info blackout from the WH. They are counting on the msm sweeping this under the rug. Your classic running the clock out. They screwed up big time why else not get out in front of it. They figure anyone watching fox news won’t be voting for them so lets roll the dice. I just finished watching Meet The Press. At one point Carly Fiorina brought up the subject of Libya. She was shut down immediately by David Gregory. He stated that they would discuss Libya later. Guess What? The subject was never brought up again! The mainstream media refuses to allow this atrocity to see the light of day.

  Maybe people should be made more aware of what his family in Kenya are doing with the huge sums of money sent their way from the Untied States. They are building mosques and sending thousands of young men to Koran school. Not to get a real education but to teach young men to memorize the Koran. They are highly rewarded for doing this. Obama’s grandmother is in charge of the fund. His cousin was interviewed on Al Jazeera. There is a video of it on YouTube. It is a legit Al Jazeera interview. Ever see the 1979 film “Being There”? Peter Sellers, in one of his last roles, played Chance, the sheltered slow-witted gardener to a rich man who suddenly died, leaving him to be turned out on the streets of D.C. with no money and no idea how to cope with daily life. Through a series of fortuitous events similar to those in the later “Forrest Gump”, he ends up in the highest circles of Government with his clueless pronouncements being taken as sage advice. When asked early on what he felt about the television industry, he responded “I like to watch”. Somehow this was the first thing which came to mind after reading this article. We have a clueless out of touch President who fiddled with the remote while Benghazi burned…what a guy!

Came across this report last night. Really want Glenn to see if he and The Blaze can dig into it. It’s a blogger who reported it, but the fact that General Ham was announced almost immediately as being replaced seems crazy.
