The Romney campaign is reportedly using at least one of its campaign buses to provide supplies and relief for those who are likely to be hit by Hurricane Sandy in the coming days.
Having canceled campaign events in the area, Romney spokespeople are saying the bus will be used to transport donations of basic supplies to those in need.
“Bring donations to VA Victory offices. Romney bus will deliver them to those affected by #Sandy. #RomneyRyan2012,” Curt Cashour, Romney’s Virginia communications director, tweeted.
ABC’s Emily Friedman added: “Romney campaign will load storm relief supplies into Romney bus in Arlington Va today an will collect supplies at all VA victory offices.”
Conservative-leaning sites are describing the move as a “true example of leadership,” though the more politically cynical could interpret the move as a shrewd campaign strategy to shake off Romney’s “elitist” image.
Twitchy, which helped publicize the story by aggregating tweets on the subject, concluded: “Kudos, Team Romney, for stepping up immediately to try to aid those in harm’s way.”
President Obama has also promised to help those affected by the storm, saying the federal government will not get “bogged down” by “rules” and “red tape” in providing local officials everything they need to manage the crisis.

Yes, he did say that didn’t he. It puts a certain King Canute into one’s mind.
King Canute ordered the tide to stop rising, which it obviously didn’t, in order to demonstrate the limits of regal power.
Mr Obama clearly missed that story while he was studying the Koran…

Funny that you mention King Canute. When I first heard Obama’s claim that he would affect the ocean levels, I was reminded of Xerxes flying into a rage at the Hellespont.
The Persian King Xerxes was so angry that a stormy sea would dare to challenge his authority by tearing his footbridge folly asunder, that he ordered that the waters should be punished with 300 lashes and that leg irons should be tossed into it. He also ordered his minions to curse at the water and shout insults at it.
Sounds like the kind of marching orders our tyrant-in-chief would give to the likes of Stephanie Cutter, Ben LaBolt, and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, doesn’t it? Well, I have more history to report to those minions of his: Xerxes had not only the sea punished for exposing his impotence, he also had all those who had done his bidding by attempting to bridge the Hellespont beheaded by a newer, different group of minions, whom he also, subsequently, commanded to bridge the strait.
There are several lessons here, and a couple of them should be of extreme import to the useful idiots like Cutter, LaBolt, and DWS. But I doubt very seriously that such hubristic and morally bankrupt shills as they could ever be bothered to recognize, much less appreciate, any lesson from history. After all, these same people completely ignore much more recent lessons concerning socialism and tyranny.

I now have rental property, not because I am rich, but because I am not able to sell my house and I had to move to get a job. People come to me with $850 a month vouchers for free housing bragging that the Government will pay me so I don’t have to worry about getting the rent. All the while, I am working 2 non-union jobs so I can pay 2 mortgages, real estate taxes, homeowners insurance, etc. and still have money to put food on the table and gas in my car. Really??? Give me a break with your Barry helping people bull…all he did was enable them to be freeloaders for life!!! I am all for temporary relief for people in need; however, that is not what happens. Once again he was using other people’s money. He has never done anything without an agenda. He spent most of his time teaching others how to harass landlords, bankers and credit companies. I seriously doubt if he ever got his hands dirty by going out into the street. He spent the time in the church only to bolster himself with the people in that area. He said that himself.
I don’t think that he has on cell in his body that thinks of anyone but himself. I honestly don’t think that Michele or the kids ever hold a candle to the love he has for Barack Husein Obama himself.

We haven’t seen honor for a long time with this criminal Obama-Clinton cabal in the White House. Apparently Hillary Clinton has gone overseas to avoid the shame of Benghazigate and watching four Americans die without doing anything about it even though there were C-130s and QRFs in the area begging to assist them. Apparently she’s showing her audacious face in Serbia to meet with the Serbian President Tom Nikolic and PM Ivica Dacic to try to persuade them to accept seized Kosovo. Fat chance they’ll have of that! Kosovo is the Serbs Jerusalem! 77,000 Christian Serb warriors and their Prince Lazar martyred themselves on that Kosovo Field in 1389 rather than live under Turk tyranny! The fact that she can show her face there is reprehensible in itself after what she and Bill Clinton have done in the Balkans by siding with the vile al Qaeda and Mujahedeen terrorists there and turning Bosnia, Kosovo, and Croatia into terrorist states, and meeting KLA Muslim Mafia terrorist thug Hashim Thaci, PM of seized Kosovo on April 4, 2012 and giving him her “full support!”
This criminal Obama-Clinton cabal is the shame of America, and for their egregious policies in Libya, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon in siding with the al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood terrorists, and in arming them via Turkey, they should be charged with treason and put behind bars,

I’m from Alabama where our state was decimated on April 27th, 2011. We had 29 tornadoes touch down in Central and Northern AL. The strength of these storms were unimaginable….our state was hit by the equivalent of FIVE Katrina’s. As our local meteriologist pleaded with people to take cover through their tears, 210 people died. Almost 2000 injured & 27 thousand homes destroyed. We are from tornado country & we know how to take cover but their was no adequate shelter to withstand 200+ mph winds. Obama did his obligatory photo op, proclaiming he had never seen anything like it before and promised to do everything he could to help our communities. Guess what, he didn’t keep his promise. The money we have received for our state has been slow and mired in red tape. 18 months later, we are still awaiting almost $100 million that was promised to rebuild our schools, our roads, our towns, our lives. Luckily, Alabama is a proud state and we believe in taking care of our own. We don’t just sit & wait on the government to save us. We rescued our own neighbors, fed our communities, created our own search and rescue teams. We coordinated our own disaster relief efforts. We didn’t get national telethons and celebrities urging donations. After a day or two of shock value photos plastered on the news, we were forgotten…by Obama & the cou

Can you tell a green field
From a cold, steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts,
Hot ashes for trees,
Hot air for a cool breeze,
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk-on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here
We’re just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl

Running over the same old ground,
What have we found?

The first verse deals with your failure to recognize the stark contrast between Obama and Romney. There hasn’t been such an obvious disparity between presidential candidates since Reagan vs. Carter – if ever. I know your argument: “They’re just opposite sides of the same coin.” Well, we are down to our last coin, and that RP Cola bottlecap you’ve been clinging to doesn’t fit the coinslot on the vending machine of State.
The second verse is about how you have traded American exceptionalism for some vague, intangible concept of harmony between Islam and The Constitution. And thus, instead of fighting to bring liberty to the oppressed, you wish to trade a “walk-on part in a war for a lead role in a cage” of isolationism and ONE-SIDED “diplomacy.” The people you want to negotiate with have no respect for your words, because they don’t believe a word a Western infidel says, unless it comes in the form of a threat with observable consequences.
The chorus is about how frustrating it is for people like me, who really “wish you were here” instead of casting your pearls about in the aether. This discussion continues to run “over the same old ground,” but “what have we found?” The same old fears: distrust, suspicion, and discontent. Those fears must be addressed. If you turn your back on them, they will consume you while your back is turned. I’m talking about both radical Islam AND progressivism/liberalism.

Wrong on nearly every account. Romney crosses a clear red progressive line. No matter how bad Obama is, we cannot afford 8 more years of a GW Bush type of republican – our country will surely not survive. I would rather go down with the small-government ship than brave a new world of compassionate progressivism or whatever Mitt Romney is promoting.
My position is based on repeated history as well as the actions of the republican party leadership over the last few years. It is a corrupt and evil organization.
At the end of the day we are left with the fact that people like me and millions around the country are either voting 3rd party or not voting at all. Instead of pointing the finger at me, perhaps you should think about our corrupt election system that reduces our choice down to two parties. This was not the intent of the founders. There are a number of changes that can be made to our election system that would allow 3rd parties to arise and still have those votes go towards Romney campaign

Oct. 29, 2012 at 3:48am@Soybomb….you said the key word….IF. Obama would NEVER do that. It just wouldn’t even occur to him to actually try to help anybody but himself. His disdain for the average American was not hidden in his debate performances. His self perceived intellectual superiority comes off as he truly is…a smug, self abbsorbed, pompous jerk who can not fathom being questioned on anything. He let Romney play him like a fiddle during the debates and Obama can’t stand it. Obama got played at his own game. Gotta love it!! BTW-Obama has had more troop casualties in 3 1/2 years than Bush had in almost 8. Let’s also not forget Benghazi. Each day more astonishing facts come out. Each day Obama is implicated in more and more treasonous acts. More and more dem’s will realize he will lose and will jump ship at a faster rate than they already are. They will want nothing to do with him and will rat out all his corrupt actions to save their own careers. Mark my words, he will go down as the worst president in history.

Oct. 28, 2012 at 8:08pm“Mitt Romney spent the last two nights at a Marriott Hotel on the beach in Delray Beach, Florida, about a ten minute walk from my house. How interesting to witness the fascist police state up close. First there was the ridiculous hour-long traffic jam on I-95 when our aspiring dictator of the planet arrived at Palm Beach International Airport yesterday. The town was abuzz with excited members of the booboisie proclaiming “Romney’s at the Marriott! Romney’s at the Marriott!”
On my Sunday morning 15 mile bike ride I started out by peddling the several blocks up to Rt. A1A where the Marriott is, and saw cops everywhere. When I stopped at the light a large, bullet-proof vest wearing, heavily-armed “cop” (probably a “homeland security” thug) walked toward me and glared at me (and anyone else around). Across the street in the Marriott parking lot was a huge police bus with “INCIDENT COMMAND CENTER” emblazoned on the side. Both entrances to the hotel were littered with police cars and barricades.”

Oct. 28, 2012 at 8:09pm“After the bike ride and a few chores I walked back up to the beach with my beach bag and afternoon reading. About a half hour after I got there a small pleasure boat wandered into the water about a quarter mile out in front of the Marriott. Two coastguard or homeland security boats with huge engines and manned machine guns mounted on the front raced toward the weekend boaters. After stopping them, and I’m sure scaring the daylights out of them, the boaters were apparently told to get the hell out of there FAST. The boat raced off, followed by both of the coastguard boats at a very high rate of speed. The men manning the machine guns had them aimed directly at the boaters the entire time. As soon as the boat was outside of their “perimeter” the gun boats stopped and turned around.
At that point for some reason I looked over at the Marriott (maybe to see if Romney happened to be on his balcony laughing his ass off) and saw several dudes on the roof. Probably snipers, I thought.
I walked back up to the beach tonight after a little Sunday football watching, and the machine gun boats were still there, as were all the other cops, secret service, homeland security, etc.
If our “beloved leaders” are really so beloved, one wonders why they need to have so many men with guns keeping us from getting anywhere near them.”

The first is to make points before the election, the other is a cover-up so the American people don’t find out the truth before the election.
May God spare all the people in the wake of the storm and may we all see Obama for what he really is —-a despicable, devious opportunist in the highest degree.
