Ann Romney Leaked Video Says America Needs a Grown Up in the White House

Mother Jones, the same left-leaning website that published a number of secretly-recorded Romney tapes at a private fundraiser that gave birth to the “47%” controversy, has now published another similar clip. This time, however, Romney’s wife Ann is coming under equal fire.

Speaking at a private fundraiser on March 27, Ann Romney reportedly said:

You know—the ship’s going over the waterfall, it’s almost there. And we look what’s happening in Greece, and we look what’s happening around the world, we look what’s happening internationally. This is a frightening world, and we need a grown-up, and we need someone that understands the economy. So I’m glad…Mitt is grown-up to you all.

Can you guess what’s drawing Democratic outrage? Yes, the fact that Ann Romney implied the Obama administration is full of children. A number of commenters on the left-leaning site the Daily Kos drew analogies between the remarks and the fact that slaves were often referred to as “boy” in the past, calling her “vile” and “[dripping] with condescension.”

However– as many have pointed out– this is hardly the first time the comparison has been made. The Obama administration’s seemingly reckless spending habits, tendency to personally demonize their opponents, blame others for their problems, and what many Republicans interpret as dangerous naiveté abroad are just a few examples of why the analogy to children is made.

Mother Jones also purportedly recorded Mitt Romney discussing President Obama’s approach towards small business, and how he might see business-owners as a “not so necessary” evil:

I’m convinced that if this president is reelected, the war on business and economic freedom will continue. I don’t think the president likes you very much. If you’re in business, I think he looks at you as a necessary evil—and maybe not so necessary. I love you, all right? I love, I love business. I love people who employ other people, who have dreams and ideas, and are willing to start enterprises, and put people to work—all good things grow from successful enterprises. Businesses—good jobs come from good businesses.

  No problem from me, Mrs Romney, I agree with your comment and Mitt’s. Obama has no clue how vital small business is to America. I guess if he had ever had a job pumping gas, bagging groceries or washing dishes like most of the rest of us have that he would see it different. When you are an elitist as he is, though, I doubt if anything will change except his address and yours.

  At the risk of being called racist, I would just like to say that I look forward to having a white President again soon – not because I am a racist.   WF, just looked up and read from wiki the define and information on mulatto. Found this interesting and toward the end:

  I was at a TGI Friday’s in OKC this last Sunday. A group of 15 Black people were behind me making complete asses of themselves and almost screaming in the restaurant. Every other table in the restaurant was getting fed up with them. I asked my wife, “is there a McDonald’s playland full of children behind me.” My son, being sarcastic said jokingly ” Are you a racist.? ” I know he was joking but his point was clear. You criticize a black person for their behavior and society goes right to Racists.
