Popular Anti-Obama Artist Releases ‘Runaway Slave’ Painting to Praise C.L. Bryant (& Expose Democratic ‘Enslavement’)

Artist Jon McNaughton is, once again, using his talents to make a social and political statement. His new painting, “Runaway Slave,” will be much like his old one in that it is likely to spawn controversy and debate. If the title of the artwork sounds familiar, it’s because it’s named after the Rev. C.L. Bryant’s documentary — a cinematic effort that explored the Democratic Party’s handling of racial issues.

McNaughton worked with Bryant to produce the piece, telling CBS News that the project was undertaken in an effort to praise the conservative civil rights leader (TheBlaze also profiled Bryant in August) for his efforts to help African Americans escape the chains that purportedly hold them hostage. Here’s how the artist describes the painting on his web site:

“This painting is a beacon to all Americans, to free yourselves from the government bondage that enslaves your very soul. Be free of the old taskmaster that will offer you all the comforts if you will but do his bidding. Rise up and be great in the sight of God! You are the ‘Runaway Slave’!”

The artist discussed the newly-released painting in detail, explaining that he believes that Democrats, like Obama, have failed African Americans.

“My position is that the Democratic Party has brought the demise of Black America,” McNaughton said in an interview with CBS Houston. “Currently, 95 percent of all blacks vote Democrat, and yet what do they have to show for it?”

The artist went on to note the economic issues that have hit the African American community, as he claims that 25 percent of this cohort are impoverished, 16 percent are unemployed and 30 percent of black babies are aborted.

The portrait shows Bryant unshackled and standing with a torch in front of the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial:

McNaughton’s decision to release the new painting one week before the election, he claims, was made in an effort to show the black community that Obama is not helping them.

Past paintings the artist have produced have also taken aim at Obama. One highlighted the president’s “dangerous atrocities.” Another showed the president burning the constitution — and a third presented Obama trampling the constitution.

It was a Republican president who had to send the National Guard to Alabama when the Demorat governor, George Wallace, tried to prevent Blacks from entering the University of AL.

You would expect that Blacks would know this, but they don’t. Furthermore, they don’t care. They’re happy living on the crime infested, drug infested, single mother plantation that the Demorats have set up for them. George Wallace could not have done a better job himself.

They also forget that it was democrats who instituted Jim Crow laws and kept blacks from voting. And they totally miss that democrats now keep many of them in the slavery of dependency. Look at the destruction of the minority family that began when welfare began. Many are trapped in inner city schools controlled by democrat unions who do not educate them!

@Bobaz….The reason they don’t know can be summed up in a statement made by the first lady (?) during the 08′ campaign. She said the following….. “We’re going to have to change our conversation,we’re going to have to change our TRADITIONS, our HISTORY”. Now I ask you…. how do you change history? I’ll tell you how, you ignore it, you rewrite it, you determine what is advantageous to you ideology to erase. These people are dangerous. Please, if you love this country, do your homework. @Alternativethought…. My grandfather, a Hungarian immigrant, passed away in 1964. As a young woman I had a conversation with him about the black unrest in the South. He said to me in his broken English…. “The black man will not be happy until he has the white man in chains”. At the time I thought he was a silly old man. I no longer think that, now I think he was a prophet.I fear for my race and my country. I honestly believe it may be too late.

You’re quite right about current events and recent history, but quite likely you do not know the true history of the War for Southern Independence. One aspect of that is this: when Lincoln crafted the Emancipation Proclamation it applied only to those Negroes over which Lincoln had no legal authority, those who lived in the Confederate States. It did not apply to those enslaved Negroes who lived in the Federal States. You are correct that modern-day day Republicans have a clean slate where civil rights are concerned regarding Negroes, but it was not always so.

Shylow you dont understand how lowering taxes works then. Lowering taxes does not cut revenue to the federal government. IT INCREASES IT. It allows the private sector to GROW. MORE jobs, more prosperity, more people will be paying taxes.

Please examine Reagan years a little more closely. Objectively.

This liberal administration has spent more than all presidents combined. If you were upset at Bush for his spending (I was too) then how can you conclude Barack Obama is the solution to that problem? Honestly, do you think democrats are the party of fiscal sanity?

Since the dawn of history the blackman has owned the continent of Africa – rich beyond the dream of poet’s fancy, crunching acres of diamonds beneath his bare black feet and yet he never picked one up from the dust until a white man showed to him its glittering light.
His land swarmed with powerful and docile animals, yet he never dreamed a harness, cart, or sled. A hunter by necessity, he never made an axe, spear, or arrowhead worth preserving beyond the moment of its use. He lived as an ox, content to graze for an hour. In a land of stone and timber he never sawed a foot of lumber, carved a block, or built a house save of broken sticks and mud.
With league on league of ocean strand and miles of inland seas, for four thousand years he watched their surface ripple under the wind, heard the thunder of the surf on his beach, the howl of the storm over his head, gazed on the dim blue horizon calling him to worlds that lie beyond, and yet he never dreamed a sail.” — Charles Darwin

Pride causes suicide if you bring shame on yourself by being an imperfect human. Pride does not let you admit when your wrong and change your course. PRIDE IS EVIL

      Shylow,
Newsflash; Linclon was wrong, all men are created men, but all men aren’t created equal. In the parable of talents; God created 1 one man with 5 talents, one with 2 talents and one man was given 1 by God. Each man was FREE to use his talents as he saw fit, in an effort to increase his master’s estate. The faithful man with 5 talents was given 5 more, and the faithful steward who was given 2 was given 2 more.
God is saying here that he is looking for productivity. The way the master increased his estate was by entrusting more to those who produced the most.
The man with 1 talent hid his talent and because he was unproductive, it was taken from him and given to the most productive.
In your narrative, the man who made 5 talents more would have to give his income to the unproductive servant, contrary to God’s ways.
No doubt there is greed. Having a Biblical world view kept greed in check in times past, but man is loosing his moral compass. The answer when this happens is; change the system. If a man can’t govern himself than government restraint must be enforced. In the end, the cure (government control) is worse than the disease (greed).
The cure is to we need to restore and reinforce man’s moral compass and return to Christian values. We need a reformation, not more government regulation.

The left do not want blacks (or any other ethnic minority) to be free, but rather dependent. It wants their subservience and their votes. I so wish we could awaken more of them to the truth sooner, but the left has been at this for more than a century. Strange but an absolute strategic truth that the left hides its own bigotry by accusing people like me of being a bigot, almost redefining the word itself to fit their divide and conquer agenda.

I meant to add that I commend the man’s courage to do what the 60s’ left used to do – speak truth to power. I many not have his talent, but I hope I can at least have his courage.

The Paul Shanklin of the visual arts, perhaps? A great subject well presented. Every little bit helps at this stage in the electoral process.

What’s the point. The only people who will get it aren’t voting for Obama anyway.

That’s true, I would bet that 98%, or more, of the black population, couldn’t tell you who C.L. Bryant or E.W. Bishop are, but that doesn’t take away from the power of this painting.

Why would democratic slaves run away from their democratic master? Democratic slaves do not work. Democratic slaves sits on their ****. Democratic slaves just have to praise their master and walk to the mail box to collect the welfare. I don’t see this changing. Why would you change if you were a freeloader? Real change would be get off your duff and work.

Just like any stay at home son only four things get them off their butts.

1.) An invitation to go party with… well anyone.
2.) Hiding their stash from the cops/parents
3.) Their girlfriend (yes, I’m not kidding) is coming over.
3.) Having to go to work because their parents died.

When Mommy and Daddy welfare stops feeding the sloth, the sloth either moves or dies.

I know Jon and he is not only a great painter but he is a really nice man. He gets it!

His paintings are spot on the subject matter. Jon is one of the most inspired painters today.

      Keep up the good work.

I think they both are spot on. They are enslaving with entitlements aka “free stuff”~
Loved Runaway Slave, it’s available “On Demand” and also on ITunes. Alot of great Patriots are contributors. Thank you CL Bryant and thank you, t Jon McNaughton.
