In an “Obama-style” Halloween prank, Fox News contributor, actor and comedian Steven Crowder paid a visit to young trick-or-treaters at a local church’s “trunk or treat” event and attempted to “redistribute” their candy to make the system more “fair.” In the video, Crowder, dressed in a monkey costume, says the stunt is an attempt to teach kids about the American tax system.
Of course, the Obama administration’s official stance on tax policy is based on the belief that the rich aren’t paying their “fair share” in taxes — despite the fact that the nation’s top 10 percent of income earners pay roughly 70 percent of all federal income taxes.
As Crowder reaches into kids’ candy baskets and gives it to other children with less candy, the idea of redistribution is met with great resistance.
“Hey, dude that’s not cool,” one kid says. “It’s not fun to take people’s candy…That’s my candy, I worked hard for it.”
“But you had more than him,” Crowder replies.
‘That’s OK.”
Others simply lost their cool when their candy was unfairly taken from them.
“Seriously man, I’m out of my mind… You just stole my candy!” an older kid says.
“I didn’t steal it, I’m redistributing it so it’s fair,” says Crowder. He later told the same kid of his costume, ” You didn’t build that.”
Before the prank was said and done, at least one child threatened to “call the police” over the candy theft, er…redistribution.
After being repeatedly chastised by the pint-sized trick-or-treaters, Crowder concludes that even children think it’s most fair “to be able to keep what they’ve actually earned.”
“One percenters,” Crowder says jokingly.

Ever heard of charity?… Not to mention we’re talking about kids going trick or treating. They aren’t old enough to work. Nevertheless, what would you say about this situation:
A school decides to have a fundraiser and kids have to go sell cookies. They are told they will be given a reward for doing it. Little Jimmy comes up with a good way to get people to buy them and sells the most, while little Bobby goes to a few houses, sells very few cookies, then decides he doesn’t want to try to sell any more because he could be playing video games instead.
A week later the kids go to school to count the sales. Little Jimmy had the most due to his good idea and hard work. Little Bobby had the least due to his laziness. The Teacher comes and sees Jimmy’s massive amount of sales and Bobby’s very small amount of sales.
“Wow Jimmy, you made a lot of sales!” the Teacher says, “But Bobby could barely make any. How about we give some of your sales to Bobby so he doesn’t feel bad.”
Jimmy is speechless while they level out his sales with Bobby’s.
“Well, it looks like you guys tied, so you get to split the reward! Wasn’t that fun?” the Teacher says enthusiastically.
Jimmy had a scowl on his face due to not getting anything for his hard work. Bobby was smiling and jumping for joy since he got rewarded even though he didn’t have to work hard for it.
THE QUESTION: What do you think Jimmy will do the next time there’s a school fundraiser

Do you raise children or were you raised by them? The life lessons you were taught are embarrassing.

Oct. 31, 2012 at 6:30amMy son has been warned by one of his teachers that he will fail one semester (or actually 6 week grading period) because he’s going to do an experiment in socialism. I’m thinking I know what it is….redistribution of grades. My son is extremely intelligent, but also lazy (and that’s not for lack of me trying to change that). If he sees that his work is not being rewarded with a good grade, he’ll quit trying and let someone else work for his grade. I have a rule, since he’s capable of being an A student, any C and I take a priveledge away. I mean come on, he has a cell phone (no service, just for games), a DS, an ereader, a TV in his room, and computer privelidges on the main computer as well as a Wii in the living room. I’m not stopping that just because his teacher wants to teach how unfair socialism is.
