An exhausted and droopy-eyed Chris Christie joined the “Fox & Friends” crew Tuesday morning to give a rundown of the storm damage to his state of New Jersey. And while most of the conversation was about the devastation and how the state was reacting during the difficult time, Christie did let his trademarked fiery spirit show when one anchor tried to throw presidential politics into the mix.
After talking about what was being done in response to Hurricane Sandy, host Steve Doocy asked about rumors that Mitt Romney would be accompanying Christie to tour the damage. That’s when the governor let loose.
“I have no idea nor am I the least bit concerned or interested,” Christie said. “I’ve got a job to do here in New Jersey that’s much bigger than presidential politics, and I could care less about any of that stuff. I have a job to do, I’ve got 2.4 million people out of power, I’ve got devastation on the shore, I’ve got floods in the northern part of my state. If you think right now I give a damn about presidential politics then you don’t know me.”

The Campaign Hurricane e-mails: Obama seeks $$, Romney sends prayers
Author
- Greg Halvorson
Mr. Halvorson subscribes to both party’s websites to compare electoral junk mail and in this morning’s batch Michelle is encouraging people not to let the havoc dissuade them from contributing to Obama’s campaign, and Win! a chance to be at the Obama election night bash.
Romney on the other hand, and Ann, are encouraging people to prepare for the storm, and after making sure they are safe, if possible check on their neighbors, especially the elderly, and see if the local Red Cross needs help.
Says it all right there.
Those already saying Romney’s playing opportunist just don’t seem to understand that Obama could have sent the same kind of message but, it’s this fundamental difference in philosophy, in a basic way of thinking, that prevents such an idea from occurring not only in Obama’s mind, but in the democratic mind in general as nobody in Obama’s camp thought to suggest such.

Oct. 30, 2012 at 12:11pmI agree. Also, didn’t Romney’s camp start a “supplies” drive for those who might be hurt by this storm? I believe it was in Virginia? I haven’t heard anything about Obama’s camp doing the same.

Look, we are adults here, we don’t look around in a crisis and say, “That guy isn’t doing his job.”
We handle it, give credit where credit is due and just get the people safe.
Right now, let’s leave the game playing to the libs.

Oct. 30, 2012 at 7:48pmAlong with the NYT using the hurricane to justify endorsing Obama in the direct aftermath of its death and destruction (which is pathetic in its own right), it figures that Barry and Michelle would exploit the tragedy further…actually, it’s beyond pathetic. Romney has once again risen above the petty fray. And, Chris Christie is a hero and a TRUE LEADER, something Barak/Barry/Hussein just doesn’t understand in the least. Obama wouldn’t know true leadership if it hit him in the head. But, he did “take the shot” to kill UBL…my hero.

Nov. 1, 2012 at 11:00amHas NO ONE on this site actually heard your ‘hero’ Gov. Chris Christie praising President Obama for the assistance which is being supplied – without beaurocracy – to the affected storm victims???
Oh, and by the way – as a ‘veteran’ VOLUNTEER at these types of catastrophes, I can VOUCH for the fact that donations of cans of beans, jars of peanut butter and rolls of paper towels – are MORE A HINDRANCE than a help. These types of donations require TIME and effort of ‘on site’ volunteers. Each truck load of ‘goods’ has to be inventoried, sorted, checked for damage and the items must then be rerouted to where they are needed. On the other hand Money can be used to purchase the ACTUAL needs at the ACTUAL site. For example – a truck load (which includes ‘donated’ diapers and baby food) is USELESS when it arrives at a shelter where mostly ‘seniors’ are housed.
I’m sure that Romney and his followers mean well, but donations of MONEY is MUCH BETTER SPENT!

Oct. 31, 2012 at 11:47amI’m all for giving credit where credit is due….and apparently Obama has served NJ & Gov Chris Christie well. Kudos to him.
HOWEVER, there is a more tactful way to answer that question. You don’t want to get into politics, fine….but DO NO HARM. He has been one of Romney’s biggest supporters, and just because some REPORTER injects Romney in the conversation, you don’t need to throw Romney under the bus….JUST after you’ve talked up & down how awesome of a leader Obama has been in the process.
DO NO HARM…as Beck suggested this morning, just say that you don’t want to get in politics and if Obama or Romney want to help, they will take any assistance they can get.
Also, Christie doesn’t need to re-tweet Obama’s campaign slogan “Lean Forward” when referencing how great of a job Obama is doing.

Of course I love their politics, but I do get real sick of pandering or anything even slightly fake. And I don’t put it past anyone anymore. I was absolutely SICKENED to watch Kelly Wright all bundled up with water spraying in his face to be so dramatic in Sandy coverage. It was almost as disgusting as seeing the king of Fox fakery; Geraldo hanging onto a light pole in that other super windy situation years ago. GAG me with a fricken spoon!!
Anyway, I fell off the Chris Christie train well over a year ago as I listened to Glenn Beck on the radio one morning telling of Christie conceding to the man-made global warming lie.
