Here’s How the Zombie Apocalypse Is ‘Hypothetically’ Possible

The Marine’s and other law enforcement at a counter-terrorism summit last week jumped on the zombie apocalypse bandwagon as a theme for emergency preparedness. But, honestly, according to science, would a zombie apocalypse ever really be possible?

The short answer, as told by  Mitchell Moffit and Gregory Brown in their latest ASAP Science YouTube video, is “hypothetically, yes.”

We’re not talking the back from the dead type of zombie, but a virus affecting the brain and causing the victim to lash out in zombie-like fashion, which at least has stronger possibilities.

Heres How the Zombie Apocalypse Is Hypothetically Possible

The slightly more than two minute video explains how neurons could be used by the virus.

“This zombie virus would have to use specific neurons that affect particular parts of the brain to induce a zombie state,” the narrator said.

The crux is that the virus can’t damage the entire brain. So, if this sounds unlikely, the narrator goes on to explain that your own nasal passages contain olfactory nerves linking to parts of the brain that if infected with the currently fictional virus could lead to “zombified effects.”

“Essentially, transmission of a virus through the olfactory nerve could create super hungry, agressive, brain dead beings that can’t recognize family and friends or control their own actions.”

    The government could control more than half the population just by offering free porn & beer. Be real, why spend billions making a virus when you can control people with food stamps, beer and porn? Oh and free phones too, so you can get that free porn wherever you are.

      IMO this is just another aspect of leading by fear.

      They’ve already accomplished the aspect of divide and conquer by political views, skin color, religious preference, etc., With the divisions in place it is easier to control 10 small groups, rather than one unified group, and is also easier to target specific fears of an individual group, or weaken them all with the proper tactics, or propaganda.

      Remember the word “conditioning” and it’s easy to see that this is just a part of it.

      I ain’t buying it!

    The virus is called Marxism. The virus is called drug, alcohol, or government dependency addiction.

    There’s no such thing as a virus that can take control of the brain; there has never, in human history, been a virus that took over a human body and turned it into a zombie. There is, quite literally, zero possibility of a ‘zombie apocalypse,’ but there is a ‘Marxist Apocalypse’ that has been planned, that’s ready to go, not long after the election.

    Why do we put up with stupid ‘news’ stories that discuss crap like zombies, when there are so many stories that aren’t being written, even by ‘The Blaze?’

      Actually there are viruses that cause uncontrolled agressive behavior. (Rabies)…. I’m certain that with lots of money and some expert tinkering such things are possible.

      Sorry, it has never happened, in world history. Rabies does not produce Zombies. Zombies do NOT exist, and the only reason that people buy into this crap is that they have been indoctrinated, rather than educated, in government schools to a point where they do not have the ability to use critical thinking, to logically analyze, such ‘news’ stories. Basic logic, reason, and the application of evidence to a theory, using basic scientific principles, makes it easy to discern the fact that the so-called ‘Zombie Apocalypse’ is simply impossible, as one would have to ignore the facts, and exercise a false faith in a fantasy hypothetical in order for it to come to pass (in their mind, of course; in reality, it’s simply impossible).

      how exactly would you know that? Rabies is one example that would do it. imagine a genetically altered version. They can already target ethnic groups with tailored viruses. Ever seen the movie “Jacob’s Ladder”? The government has done experiments with agents that could lead to this.

      Basic scientific principles? what are you talking about, the video discusses those basic principles. It is a pretty bold statement to say there never was or never could be this virus…There are many cultures that have a history with “zombies” and there are quite a few cannibal tribes who’s behavior could be compared to what we consider zombies. Heck we had one this year eating a guys face in Florida.

    Strangely enough I already thought that most people were zombies, or maybe it’s clones. Case in point they tell you a hurricane is coming, and so you leave dozens of taxi cabs in low laying areas instead of moving them, and they all get ruined, but no problem all the zombies will pay for them through higher premiums. Or how about this one? People are spiritually married to another person, but they don’t care so they marry someone else’s wife. Or how about not many people care about what the truth is? That’s really zombie-like. We are already surrounded by millions of zombies who are just waiting for the dole to get cut-off so they can literally behave like zombies.

    This is why the government is preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse.
    In order to survive you need to be in a cave or at least 10 feet underground.

      TonyPro: You Sir are on the Right Track! … There has been 2 or 3 Zombie Cases in the US and 1 in China! … As you know the 1st Case was in Miami FL and the Police had to Shoot and Kill that Attacker! … Then I remember that there was another case somewhere in the US (There may have been a 3rd Case in the US) where the Attacker had been taken into Custody. … But I have never heard the outcome as to whether the Attacker was hospitalized or quite possibly returned to the Government Lab from which he had been infected with what ever the Government is trying to Create to put in effect to wipe out a third of our population! … There was a case in China where I never heard the outcome of that attack! … There is a Monument Site in GA that will explain that the world needs to reduce the Worlds Population down to 500 Million World Wide and a Zombie Apocalypse would be the best way to accomplish it!
