While the country starts the long recovery process following superstorm Sandy’s devastating destruction, the presidential election is still just a week away, and despite some knee-jerk speculation, it won’t be postponed. So what do the current poll numbers look like with one week to go?
Stu Burguiere, executive producer of the Glenn Beck radio program and the guy who dresses up in funny costumes for Beck’s amusement, broke down the latest figures on TheBlazeTV Tuesday. The race is going to be a tight one, Stu explained, but he also brought up a few interesting points to keep in mind.
One-by-one, Stu went through each important swing state and revealed that if the election were held today, the next president of the United States would be Mitt Romney, according to the polls.

Oct. 31, 2012 at 2:27amIs this a joke? There is no poll which indicates Romney is in the lead and no election model which predicts a Romney win. Romney is trending up, just as Reagan was close to the 1980 election, but as in that election current indications are that the race is extremely tight; thus far Obama has consistently maintained the lead in all state and national polls.
Romney might pull out a sweep on election day just like the 1980 election, but as in the 1980 election there is zero statistical evidence for such a prediction. The facts are that the polls all have Obama in the lead.
If this video is not meant to be a joke, it is a serious breach of journalistic integrity by the Blaze. There is no indication that Romney will win and voters should not be given misleading information to the contrary.
I am very concerned by the Blaze’s demonstrated lack of knowledge when reporting on political events. It is shockingly evident that no one on the Blaze staff knows what they are talking about. Reports are made based on misinterpretation of the data, emotion, hearsay, and wishful thinking. While I value the Blaze for its reporting on non-political stories, I fear the Blaze is a laughing-stock when it comes to serious political reporting. Other news outlets may spin political stories to suit their partisan interests, but this is no justification for the Blaze writers to become partisan hacks.
Report the facts, please. The facts are Romney is currently losing in the polls. V

I feel the liberal’s pain, its how I felt when Barry looked like he was going to win. That sure was nasty. Even nastier, though, were the last 4 years. Of course I wasn’t reall happy with John McCain and his Bugs Bunny impressions. Anyway, I can’t wait until Barry and luv chunks (his make believe fashion plate wife) are gone along with all his czars and czarets. Oct. 31, 2012 at 7:08amI just took a look at your 10 most recent posts, and I posit that you are a troll—a clever one, but a troll just the same. You’re doing the old “I’ll pretend to be conservative and say horrible things with sincerity to make all conservatives look stupid” ploy. For example—you claim women’s suffrage was the worst thing that ever happened to the USA. You assert that democracy is faulty because Americans are so stupid.
Several models have predicted a Romney win. He’s led in the polls for weeks now. Obama is down in several strong blue states—CA, OR, and MI come to mind. Your claim that polls unnamed all show an Obama win, coupled with your understated “disappointment” in The Blaze try to suggest you are a rational, fact-oriented person saddened by the delusions of your party.
Newsflash: conservatives are so much more educated than you naively presume. We don’t just read the polls. We read the cross-tabs. And we dig. Obama is not just going to lose. His loss will create a new comedy-sport: going back and laughing at the outrageous MSM stories and polls, laughing at the old electoral map projections. Welcome to the new America, buddy. The swing to the right has been a hard right, not just a gentle curve.

Oct. 31, 2012 at 7:36amThe facts are that RCP currently shows Romney leading in the NPR, Rassmussen, Gallup (Up 5) and ABC/Wash Post polls. Pew shows a tie and Politico, IBD and CBS show Obama up by 1 (the overall average of all the polls is Romney up by 1). University of Colorado’s model shows a 330 electoral point Romney landslide. Romney is expanding his map and Obama is forced to defend Michigan, Minnesota and Pennsylvania?

Oct. 31, 2012 at 8:21amReagan was losing in the polls too. But won in the biggest landslide victory of the modern era. A recent poll taker for the MSM admitted publicly that they phrase the questions and bias the demographics of the pool they poll in a way that intentionally affects the results. Typically this is done in a way to try to account for variance in turnout by different demographic groups, the tone of the ads in the local area, and the polster’s own idea of what the key issues might be.
Polls can only be as trustworthy as the individuals who conduct them – the MSM has repeatedly demonstrated where their colors lie. Why would anybody trust their polls?

How do you explain the consistent margin Romney has held in most of the tracing polls? How can you explain the clear swing of Independents and women toward Romney during the past 4 weeks? How do you account for the poll of early voters that show Romney with a 7 point lead?
I know and have talked MANY people who voted for Obama in 2008 who plan to vote for Romney.

University of Colorado is a brand new model that has never been used before. The model was created after 2008 election. It has never predicted any election yet. They used historical data to predict the past election!!
Comments from Michael Berry, one of the two professors behind the University of Colorado model. He writes: “Mr. Silver and others confuse a prediction with an estimate. Our model was developed after the 2008 election. The only election that we forecast is the 2012 election. When we populate the model with data from each of the election years from 1980 through 2008, we correctly estimate the winner in each of those elections.”

In addition, if you look at the unskewed polls, all, if not most, swing states go toward Romney. If the president is doing such a great job, then why isn’t he winning 50% or more in each state?

California- Last spin around the toilet bowl with increased taxes, millages, regulations, massive layoffs.
Chicago- Slam dunking with typical lame liberal threats of police and fire reductions (what a thug sham that is), more regulations, layoffs, higher taxes, massive corruption and cronyism.
Liberals suck at running anything. They lie, cheat and steal. This election will be the end of them as a political group one way or another. Either they lose and we run them so far underground with the truth, or they win and become the tyrants they always wanted to be.

The Republican house has sent 30 jobs bills to the Senate. Guess what Dingy Harry did with ‘em. Tabled ‘em… ALL of ‘em. Wouldn’t even bring them up for an up and down vote. Know why? Because they were from Republicans. Reid is your obstructionist, not the Republicans. You know Harry… the same guy that has refused to pass a budget because “we don’t want the people to know how much money we’re spending”.

Oct. 31, 2012 at 8:13amSocialists think of themselves as enlightened, but they are actually just lively fools. Socialism ALWAYS expands the ranks of poverty and makes all, but a few political elites, poor slaves of the state. ALL of our economic woes are due to previous enactments of socialism. The current economic collapse was triggered by democratic policies to compel banks (thru community organizer lawsuits) to lower their lending standards so that more minorities could “qualify” for home loans, by democratic policies to entice banks to go along by Dodd and Franks manipulating Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to promise to buy up all the bad, subprime loans, in bundles with other good loans. Thus, they beat on the banks in the courts and offered them a no-risk way out in the market. We all know how that “social experiment” is ending – But now, the left has the audacity to tell us that the solution for the ills caused by prior socialization can only be solved by accelerating our rush over socialism’s cliff. They entice us to go along by seductive lies that feed a public sense of entitlement, with empty promises of hope and prosperity. The concept of forcing some men to share their property with others is inherently criminal, unethical, illegal and wrong. Plus – it is futile and when the criminal enterprise aka socialism is enabled by law – will lead to the downfall of civilization.

The reason why the house voted against your beloved Dictator is because he does not understand how jobs are created. The government does not create jobs!!!! Do you understand that? More “Government jobs” are a burden on the tax payers!!! If he wanted to help with jobs he would have asked for lower taxes, and less regulations. He would have passed the Canadian pipeline, and did away with the EPA so we can build more refineries. More American oil yes the real / true energy is what is cheap and allows for growth.

Obama would have to declare Martial Law across the entire nation, not just States of Emergency in those States affected by Sandy….
State governments control local and State and Senate and House elections but Congress by the Constitution controls the Presidential….
I know that many of you that tend to anarchist think that there will be a conspiracy and Obama will try to cease control of the nation…but that could only be done with the support of the Naitonal Guard and Military..and he doesn’t have them…not to mention that “fly over country” has more guns and ammo than our military has….
they would have to try and use a court order speaking of “disenfranchised” people..but that would have to be already in place…and the Supreme Court would have to take it up immediately…but since it is NY State and NJ mainly effected..and they are 90% going to Obama anyway…I don’t think they will magically go for Romney just because of this…but who knows..

Oct. 30, 2012 at 11:06pmI saw a drastic error in those polls that if true, would make the whole polling thing a sham and Romney ought to run Obama out on the rails. TEXAS has Romney ahead 58-41?!?! Really?
Not even half of the locals that flew Obama signs last time even bothered to get one, which I’d take as a significant loss in enthusiasm for him while the number of Romney signs I have seen doubles the amount of McCain from 2008. That is a significant increase in enthusiam.
Now I know Texas is a little “higher thinking” than lots of the swing states, ;) but my estimate would have Romney at about 70-29 over Obama.
Hopefully the polls in the swing states are off about that much, and we will indeed see the old vaudville hook yanking Obama off the Presidential stage before long.

Oct. 31, 2012 at 1:33amThere is also the possibility, Old Sarge, that those people who were polled as supporting Mr Obama will, in fact, not show up on the day.
There was an item about this effect in Chicago (I can’t find it in all my stuff at the moment), saying that people had lost faith in Mr Obama, but could not bring themselves to vote republican, so they would likely just stay home.
This would not be shown in the polls, as I say, because they would still tell the pollster that they support Mr Obama.

The Gen. claims he was never commanded to send support to save the Americans while Panetta claims he was part of the team that decided not to send forces. What I hear is Tyrone Woods had painted the target for the air strikers who were then told to stand down. My bet: Gen. Ham followed orders from the WH to stand down. Four American heroes died.

There is no way that so many people could be so ignorant as to believe that obama is doing even a fair job.
Benghazi should be the one that broke the race… obama watched for 7 hours… ignored the pleas for help from the heroes that rescued 30 people… then went to Las Vegas to campaign and for 14 days he blamed a video…. if it is not Benghazi, then it should be high gas prices, high unemployment, no budget… WOW… the pile of cr_p from this loser is incredible!
