More Electronic Voting Machines Changing Romney Votes to Obama: We Looked Into It and Here’s What a Vendor Told Us
Editor’s note: TheBlaze TV will be broadcasting “The Machine,” a documentary on voter fraud at 8pm ET tonight as the first of an occasional news magazine series called “For the Record.”
——
Last week, TheBlaze brought you a story from a North Carolina voting precinct using electronic voting machines that was already experiencing issues where votes for GOP candidate Mitt Romney were being changed to Democratic candidate Barack Obama. Now, it’s allegedly happening again, this time in both Kansas and Ohio — and we talked to a vendor supporting the machines about the issue.
Nancy from Topeka, Kan., who asked that her last name not be used for reasons pertaining to her husband’s work, told TheBlaze she fears if voters aren’t double checking their selections, they’ll be “robbed of their vote.”
Nancy explained that while her husband was casting a vote for Romney, the touchscreen highlighted Obama.

An electronic touch screen ballot machine such as this has to be calibrated correctly to allow voters to chose the correct candidate. (Photo: AP/Tom Gannam)
“He played around with the field a little and realized that in order to vote for Romney, his finger had to be exactly on the mark,” Nancy wrote in an email. She said “the invisible Obama field came down about 1/4 [of an inch]” into what should technically have been the Romney area. In a phone interview with TheBlaze, she explained further that her husband said he felt the area on the touchscreen that could be pushed to vote for Obama was larger than that for Romney.
Nancy and her husband called the Kansas Secretary of State to report the problem and were informed that it was most likely a calibration issue.
“My concern is, is this intentional?” Nancy said. Posing this question to the Secretary of State’s office, Nancy told us they said it is unlikely that voter fraud would be occurring in Kansas, as it’s not a highly contested state.
The Marion Star also reported Wednesday that Ohio resident Joan Stevens experienced a similar case. She alerted a board of elections member at the voting location about the problem, who then called in the vendor providing support for the machines to check for calibration issues.
Sophia Rogers, director of the Marion County Board of Elections, told TheBlaze the Marion Star “got it wrong.” She said when techs came out to review the machine, they found everything was calibrated correctly.
The Marion Star reported Rogers saying the machine seemed to have been working fine for her and other voters as well. Still, the local newspaper did note Stevens saying that board of elections member Jackie Smith mentioned to her that the machine had been experiencing issues all day. Smith did not issue a comment to the Marion Star.
Regardless if there was issue or not, the fact remains that direct-recording electronic voting machines can experience calibration issues. It’s something that happens every election, and when voters come across a machine not recording their vote correctly, they should report it. With such seemingly inevitable issues, which to be fair do not occur with every machine, TheBlaze decided to look into who was responsible for making sure the machines was calibrated in the first place; how calibration issues occur; and how the problems are fixed.
In Marion, for example, Rogers told TheBlaze it is standard procedure to call in a technician from the vendor to tend to the machine in question. She referred us to the vendor of their touch-screen machines Dominion Voting.
Spokesman for Dominion Chris Riggall told TheBlaze that many of the machines in the field — which he says are “legacy machines” not manufactured by Dominion but by companies that Dominion now owns — are up to 10 years old.
“They have been in the field many years and through many election cycles,” Riggall said. “It is certainly possible [for them to get] out of calibration.”
As when you purchase any electronic, you can sign up for a warranty or added customer support. The same concept applies to voting machine technology. Riggall said he believes the Marion jurisdiction does receive support from Dominion for its machines, meaning it could be called in to check and fix calibration issues. He said there is a calibration test built into the machine’s software and that the machine can also be tested through a sample ballot, which of course would not be cast as an actual vote.
“It is not uncommon to put a unit back into service when [officials] are 100 percent confident it is registering correctly,” Riggall said.
Although Marion may have vendors helping in such situations, Riggall said tech support provided for machines is jurisdiction dependent. It is up to the states or jurisdictions to decide how often machines will be checked for accuracy, and who will perform this check and fix problems when they occur.
Read more about different voting technology and how some jurisdictions are making the switch to less high-tech systems in favor of verifiable paper ballots in a new article from TheBlaze here.

The better answer is go back to the old paper ballot system, (it takes a stroke of the key board to wipe out digital votes, and it takes more effort to get ride of paper votes). I do not care how many trees it takes, how many man hours it takes, our liberties and freedoms are worth it.

Why is it an ATM can operate properly and instantaneously come rain or shine, freeze or thaw, day-in and day-out, carry a quarter-million dollars cash in unmarked bills inside it without need of a security guard anywhere in the vicinity, and a freakin’ touch-screen counter cannot correctly tally 0, +1, +1, +1, +1, +1… for a 13-hour day every 4-years?

Posted on October 31, 2012 at 9:15pmThese problems aren’t “news”. There have been reports AND demonstrations of “electronic” voting machine manipulations for YEARS. I saw on on YOUTUBE this year. It took less than 5 minutes and less than $1.00 in Radio Shack parts to make a ‘fraud’ generator.
No one wanted to do anything about it before the election. NO ONE.
Storage facilities were unlocked and unguarded. Machines are not secure and have no ‘seals’ to indicate tampering.
Now, I’m getting a bit long in the tooth. But I can tell you that neither party CARES one whit about the ‘security’ of the election. Both ARE corrupt, to the bone. In other words; it doesn’t matter who wins or looses. Both are the same. One takes the fast road the other takes the slow road.
Career government employees are 90% criminal in their job FUNCTION. I’ve worked in government. I’ve seen it.
Whistle blowers end up dead or destroyed. I’m not going to be either, before my time, now, after all I’ve been through.
Corruption “IS” what this country stands for. If you don’t believe that, you are a tool or ignorant or both. No country “IS” righteous. It just isn’t possible, today. If it ever was.

You folks have been spoon fed propaganda from Beck Hannity and Levin and actually think Romney is some kind of constitutionalist who will “save” the economy. Its pathetic and in my opinion you should not be considered a Constitutionalist or supporter of Liberty (like so many of you claim) if you cast a vote for any candidate that supports NDAA TSA or drone strikes against American citizens, not to mention a centrally planned economy, unconstitutional wars and unsustainable debt.
The Blaze/Beck is a huge disappointment, considering how quickly they fell to their knees to lick the boots of the GOP and their self proclaimed progressive candidate.
Luckily for you all, there is a movement of true Americans who will not bend to the political pressures and will staunchly support the Constitution. The Ron Paul Liberty/First and true Tea Party movement will be the conscience and stead fast rock for our natural God given rights despite which progressive wins this next election.
The old, over weight, dullards who support this one party system will be outdated and out done by the youthful, principled and constitutionally inspired Liberty movement. Posted on October 31, 2012 at 11:37pmJoseph Stalin ( a political and philosophical blood brother to Obamao) said that the vote count didn’t matter nearly as much as who was doing the counting. With electronic voting that does NOT leave a paper trail, there is nothing to prevent a single hacker from simply hacking the state elections server and selecting whomever they want to win. All elections should be done on the Phoenix Arizona model. Paper ballots are filled out and then run through an automated tabulator. At the end of the day, you simply cross reference the paper ballots with the electronic count and as long as they match, you upload the data. That combined with voter ID laws would eliminate most voter fraud. Get rid of motor voter while you’re at it. It allows far too many ineligible people to vote.

Posted on November 1, 2012 at 5:05amA rudimentary electronic voting machine would probably be less pron to fraud than paper or the complicated touch screens. Minimal programming, that’s the key.
But lets face it, fraud will be an ongoing problem. States have different machines and it’s not clear to me who is ultimately responsible to insure there is no fraud. And, it seems to me that election officials don’t have the tools to know if the machines are fraudulent or malfunctioning.
How would they know if, deep inside the programming in just a handful of machines in a critical state like Ohio, their machine was a cheater or being controlled off site. Only the “technicians” would know. Or would they even know?
A simple fix for all of this would be receipts. Voter gets 2, one to keep and one they put in a box. The ballots in the box must match the electronic tally.
I am available for consulting for a fee by the way. I am a problem solver!

Posted on November 1, 2012 at 9:51amIf this is just a “calibration issue”, why is it that every time I hear about this, it’s always Romney-votes being changed into Obama-votes? This is the third time I’ve heard of this happening, and I have yet to hear of an Obama-vote being changed into a Romney-vote. This is no calibration issue. The country is being stolen.

A Spanish, on-line, voting company, associated with George Soros, will count the votes in 26 states. http://www.westernjournalism.com/spanish-company-will-count-american-votes-overseas-in-november/?utm-source=Western+Journalism
This is why Obama didn’t say to the Russian, “If I win”, he said “When I win”. The only thing he
is worried about is that the voting predictions will remain close. If the predictions remain close the public won’t riot when he wins. Anticipating such rioting is why we have UN people here, and why he just signed legislation to give the Department of Homeland Security additional powers.

They can test calibration all day long and it will come up OK, you have to check the program and the layout of the touchscreen in particular. It depends on how many pixels vertically and horizontally each catagory is laid out. I can make the pixal layout just above the Romney text if I want. Check the Program Layout for the Touch Screen sensitivity!

I, too, fear that the leftist radicals and radical Islamic jihadists who engineered and financed his election are not going to easily give up the power they’ve gained by having this traitorous POSER in the White House, and I have feared that voter fraud was how they intended to make sure he did not lose. I believe their act of “desperation” is just another stunt to distract attention from their efforts to steal the election through rigged voting machines, “losing” military ballots, dead people voting, etc.

Posted on October 31, 2012 at 3:19pmAlthough there is credible indication that after obam betrayed the elites by siding with Saudi King Abdullah they are now subsequently dumping obam. However, obam has the greater number of electoral votes. There is also indication that it is nothing but theatre… that the elites are not dismissing obam… just creating the illusion of dumping him… so that the presidential race appears to be neck to neck… so that the masses invest heavily in one or the other… so that there is a higher and volatile level of political party alliance, hostile rejection of the electoral system… resulting in overwhelming agitation that will lead to widespread racial wars, anarchy, riots, etc.

Posted on October 31, 2012 at 3:03pmI agree. As a computer software person, I could make that machine say you voted for Obama no matter what you pressed. Even if you pressed nothing for a president vote. I could even say only do this one out of every 5 times so it is harder to find. And only on certain days, like say, Nov 6th. 2012.
Software is checked and approved I am sure. But with a little help from the one who “approves” the testing, I could get my candidate a lot of votes. And there would be no way to prove it happened because you do not get a RECEIPT of how you voted..

Posted on October 31, 2012 at 11:02pmWell these machines could be updated to pront out a paper copy of your selection. To avoid voter fraud the vite would be tied into the SS number of the voter and that SS verified with a thumb print reader. I propose a much tighter method of registering for voting by submitting the thumb print as a hard record which would also require at the time of registration a valid form of picture ID (passport, drivers licence or State issused ID ) a correct address, BC and a form from the IRS saying your tazes are paid and up to date. Those arrears in paying taxes are exempt from voting until they have cleared up the debt. If there are disputes about back taxes a board could could issue a waiver under the appeal allowing the voter to cast his ballot. This system although a PITA could revolutionize the process eliminating fraud by a huge margin. Those truly invested in the process with skin in the game will have their votes count rather than being cancelled out. Such measures in this day and age should not be very difficult to impliment nore would they be difficult for the average citizen to comply with. All citizens are born with a BC and are given a SS number….all one needs to do from there is submit the thunmb print and apply for the picture ID. The you register to vote. You need ID for everything else thesedays…it’s ridiculous not to guard the vote from fraud and abuse.

I trust the polling stations alot more than I trust electronic machines bought and serviced where one person can control the outcome. Hand counts are usually double verifed.
I think America is being intentionally duped. This only make sense. From an accounting standpoint the safest accounting is always hand verification.

What is happening is not different than the ballots printed by NAZI Germany.
They had different size circles (check boxes) to indicate (NUDGE) to the voter the correct way to vote.
A good program should have been tested enough & the programming &^ machines should ROBUST enough that this should not happen.
The programmers know how many pixels & other resources they have to work with. But the programmers do not have the GOLD so they don’t make the rules or decide how the program.operates.
More people need to take programming course online or at local colleges. If every one took like 2 course in Visual Basic (VB), then some of these excuses would not fly. We would be going to the town square with ‘pitch forks’ looking to get these felons jailed.
2 semesters of VB won’t make you a 1st rate programmer, but you would learn some programming concepts & it would be much harder for them to LIE!
