Romney’s New Spanish-Language Ad Ties Obama to Dictators Fidel Castro & Hugo Chavez

Allegiances expose quite a bit about a candidate’s character. Upon close exploration, they can be a powerful and persuasive force, which is why politicians’ efforts to tie opponents to extremists often make their way into political advertisements. Consider Republican Candidate Mitt Romney’s new, Spanish-language ad airing in Miami, Florida.

In the video, President Barack Obama is tied to Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez, former Cuban Prime Minister and President Fidel Castro and Mariela Castro (Fidel’s daughter). The clip features images and video of the aforementioned figures publicly supporting the president — endorsements that Romney is clearly hoping will damage Obama’s re-election prospects among Hispanics.

The Miami Herald translates the ad:

NARRATOR: Who supports Barack Obama?

CHAVEZ: “If I were American, I’d vote for Obama.”

NARRATOR: Raúl Castro’s daughter, Mariela Castro, would vote for Obama.

CASTRO: “I would vote for President Obama.”

NARRATOR: And to top it off, Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency sent emails for Hispanic Heritage month with a photo of Che Guevara.

CHAVEZ: “If Obama were from Barlovento (a Venezuelan town), he’d vote for Chávez.”

ROMNEY: I’m Mitt Romney, and I approve this message.

Considering Florida’s designation as a battleground state, National Journal notes that this is a tactic the Romney campaign has used before. And taking into account the high population of Cubans and other Hispanic groups in Florida, the ad is perfectly suited for the locality.

Most of honest Americans are well aware of Obama’s friendship and close ties with Chavez and George Soros. Now we can add Castro too? Well, isn’t this the cats meow. Why don’t we just sit back and let the monsters of the world (who managed to get wealthy from screwing innocent people) because they are now getting away with murder. The Supreme Court would have stepped in on Libya, and we need to get rid of the UN. It’s a pain in the ****! Truly, we need to wipe out everyone in Washington D.C. and start over. Farmers have much better intelligence then who is currently serving. I’d rather have Elmer Fudd then Bubba Obama.

I feel like crying just like Abbey. She’s smarter then Biden, Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Holder, and the entire batch who have ruined our country. We’re sick of the political ads. Too much, too long, and they should be limited to only one month before the election. If you don’t know who the heck you want as president by now, you need to move to Mars, and many belong there anyway. With no exception, all the democrats!

  I was just forwarded this local scandal about to break in Ohio involving Obama campaign offices honoring Che Guevara as well as Obama slapping his face now (not just the campaign symbol) on American flags. Looks like Holder is attempting to block the local stations from airing their findings nationally. The still photos and screen grabs of the photos are starting to leak from the news stations staffers on blogs, craigs list etc. See the link below – it’s great to see some people in the media actually care. Looks like some Beck and Breitbart fans working at the stations as well.

  Hell I know people in their fifties who were born into and grew up under the Romanian Communist dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu. They ESCAPED in the early 1980′s and came to America and started over. They learned English, went to school, got jobs, and completed citizenship. Today, members of their family visit from Romania and marvel at what they have because that nation largely still lives in the late 19th to mid 20th century.
  
  After all of that, these people STILL support Barack Obama. Why would anyone go through all of that to get away from communism and then vote a damn communist into office here? It is insane.

This add is really good. The most Hispanics voting for Obama are Puerto Ricans. Cuban Americans are mainly Romney supporters. As also are many American citizens that left behind guerrillas in Colombia, Chavez in Venezuela, stupidity and socialism in Ecuador and Bolivia, and many other who escaped dictatorships in Central American.

That is a clever and true commercial. Obama is a socialist at the least. He would vote for Chavez if he was in Venezuela. Obama is someone who could not be mayor of Possum-trot Georgia, much less the leader of the free-world. He is way above his brain’s pay scale. Obama should be pushing a broom at some run down inner-city school.

  As with the recent Jeep lie, another instance where Romney displays himself as an individual of low character, integrity and ethics. If his stances and policies were so good and well thought out, he would run on them. Instead he lies, and when called out on the lies has his campaign respond that we will not be guided by fact checkers. Translation…. lying is fine if it helps you get elected. And spare me the comparisons to campaign promises and reasonable interpretations of events. Romney lied about Welfare to work, Medicare and now Jeep and he knows it. Ryan knowingly repeats these lie and adds his lie about the auto plant in Wis. that closed in Dec of 2008 under Bush…. note Obama.
