Flooding Leads to Another Viral Vid of a Dog Catching a Salmon in the Middle of the Road

Although bears are usually the ones doing the salmon catching as they prepare for hibernation, dogs are having a go at it in Washington state as the migrating fish are swimming over a flooded road.

Video from KOMO-TV shows one salmon didn’t make it Wednesday when it was caught by a dog that walked away with its catch near Union, about 40 miles southwest of Seattle. Check it out:

The salmon-crossing-the-road scene is replayed nearly every year on the Skokomish River. It frequently floods after heavy rain in the Olympic Mountains. It’s also not the first time a dog has been shown to nab one of the fish. Here’s a video from a couple years ago:

  Awww my home state. I guarantee enviro’s will be prosecuting the owner of that dog on behalf of PETA. We are in perhaps one of a few states that allows insane environmentalists a seat at the table when governing land use development and sprawl.
  
  Matter of fact, these enviro-mentals are considering banning wood stoves from Pierce County, WA.

1st instinct to fill ones stomach,hope moosechelle doesn’t find out that he had the whole salmon to himself/HERSELF:)……..did the dog do a calorie count? could that salmon be redistributed? will it’s owner get fined for not ensuring that it has the fda approval?can the phrase “you didn’t catch that” be used here? my oh my i could go on and on but wish the gov’t could solve all these problems and questions for me………….

  @Cloudsofwar….sad thing is there are 2 massive generators that they will be using at the marathon…however, very few gas stations have power to pump gas. Why aren’t they taking those 2 generators and hooking them up so the gas stations can pump gas for all those people standing in line.
  
  And if they can’t do that how about taking those generators to the neighborhoods….each on can support over 400 homes with power.
  
  Sad thing is the MSM will not cover this and the people in that area will still vote for Bloomberg and Obama, who by the way campaigning.

Reminds me of the saying “Give a man a fish he eats for the day, teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime”.

What is sad is this dog shows more drive then most americans….he went out and got his/her fish but I most americans would wait for the government to bring it to them instead of doing what this dog did.

We're having our annual fall Salmon run up here in Michigan.They come up through small creeks to lay eggs and die off.My son's Rottweiller likes to jump in and nip at them.If the Michigan DNR ever caught his dog actually catching one,he'd probably be $fined$ big time and lose his fishing license.

  My dogs even catch a whiff of salmon, and its drool city. And they get nasty if they don’t get any. Good thing this pooch is in Washington, my gang, thieving buggers that they are, would mug him for sure and make off with his stash!
