Geraldo Absolutely Explodes at Co-Host Over Libya Story on Fox: ‘You Are a Politician Looking to Make a Political Point!’
“Please, I didn’t come to argue.”
That’s how Geraldo Rivera started his segment on Fox News Friday morning as the conversation turned to Libya. But while he may not have come to argue, that’s exactly what happened. And it was one of the most heated arguments in recent memory on the news network.
In short, Geraldo continued to trumpet his argument from last week that the U.S. military could not have done anything to save those attacked in Libya.
After fill-in host Eric Bolling suggested how disgraceful it was that the government did “nothing” to help the eventual victims, Geraldo wasn’t having any of it.
It’s an “obscene lie,” he said emphatically.
“You are a politician looking to make a political point!” he added after Bolling challenged him, later repeating the point: “You are misleading the American people because you want to make a political point.”
Geraldo was visibly disturbed, raising his finger and voice and even shaking. He even lightly chastised the father of slain former SEAL Tyrone Woods for attacking the president over the debacle. He even added that what Woods’s father was insinuating — that Obama went off to Las Vegas instead of trying to protect his son — was a “a lie.”
While visibly angry at the administration detractors, Geraldo did say that there was room for criticism, mainly regarding why we had our ambassador in Libya if we couldn’t protect him. He also said it’s “legitimate” to investigate whether the government covered up the “genesis” of the attack, referring to the YouTube video the administration blamed.
Eventually host Steve Doocy had to calm him down, resting his hands on Geraldo’s back and leg to ease him.
“Geraldo, we get where you’re coming from.”
But that wasn’t all. Gretchen Carlson went to tease an upcoming segment on immigrants and college and that’s when Geraldo threw all caution to the wind: “Oh great. Now they’re going to go get lynched.”

This is a lie. Though it is true, that if you do nothing, nothing can be done, it is also true that if you take action at the beginning of the hostility, that much can be done. Had action taken place ‘before’ the hostility began, had the administration heeded the call of those on the ground in Benghazi, none of this may have happened.
Geraldo has never changed his progressive ways. He is a Jewish, Puerto Rican, van Jones.

Fighter aircraft should have been prepared and placed at the ready. Special forces should have deployed as far forward as possible. This debacle is an example of lack of leadership and incompetence.

I grew up in the SOUTH, many generations of my family. I never, ever, ever recall disliking someone due to the color of their skin…in my experience, no one I was ever around felt prejudice either..it was just “not done” – it was considered RUDE…TACKY. Once years later, after I was married and doing the IBM (I’ve been moved career life) in a place other than the South, the wife of another exec. made a derogatory comment about another race and I invited her to leave my home…to hell with the corporate politics ….
People like GERALDO and LARRY O’DONNELL, ANDREA MITCHELL, and the rest of those hysterical TALKING HEADS need to be STOOD UP TO and NOW. THIS is one of the main reasons I’m for ROMNEY. During the debate I saw him stand up to an opponent. He was strong as an OX, he was brief, businesslike, without malice but boy he got the job done. THAT IS WHAT WE NEED. PRAYING !! Let me set something straight. After 9/11/2001 happened, I was a Crew Chief on an F-16, and when put on “Alert”, after the alarm sounded, it took about 5-10 minutes for the pilot to be airborne. The speeds that can be reached, with the F-16, would have allowed for those on “Alert” to reach the Consulate, or Annex, from Aviano, Italy, in less than an hour.
Let’s see, Mr. Geritoldo, “What day did the Benghazi attacks occur?” Oh, it was 9/11??!!!
Even more reason for the military to be on a “Heightened” state of alert!!!!
With the previous information, sent by Ambassador Stephens, any reasonable person would have put more resources, closer to Libya, which I would be almost certain was the case. But, but, the “Order” never came!!!!! At the very least, with the information now out, the Obama Administration should be held, and charged with ‘aiding’ the attackers, by virtue of non-action!!!!
Conclusion: Mr. Woods was correct, in his assessment, that the Obama Administration is guilty of inaction, which lead to the Murder of his son!!!!

I totally agree with you. I was raised in the South, too. The closest I got to seeing racism was when my mom wouldn’t let me double date with someone because the other couple was a mixed race couple. She was afraid everyone wouldn’t know who was with who. My parents were “equal but separate” and I was color blind. I treat people like they treat me. My son is handicapped. When he was about 7, he went running to this little black kid in our neighborhood to give him a hug. The kid looked at him like he was going to stab him. I said, he just wants to hug you. He hugged him, but looked around to make sure no one saw him hug a white kid. I’ve smiled at kids that look like they’d just as soon cut your throat, and had them smile back at me. This president is the one dividing people, bu race, sex, and class.

Being that I am in the military; if something went wrong with the operation, it could have ripped the already poor realtions we have in the region back 10 years. Its the before and after that are in question, and that alone Obama has to answer for.

Amoungst some of the non flattering comments about him, she said he was a loud, obnoxious, pompos ass, and cheep, to boot, when it came to the tip. She kinda got the impression that he wanted the restaurant to pick up the tab because he had graced their establishment with his presence. While the management didn’t, there was some talk about it, between the manager and owner, hoping he would then leave. On top of it all, she claimed he used the bathroom, where they were then forced to open the window to air it out, after a number of complaints. Believe it or not!

As a former military member I can tell you that it has probably upset a large portion of our military. To know that there are americans in harms way and not be given to the order to help is simply unthinkable to most of our military. This scenario has a lot in common with the somolia incident that Bubba flubbed up because he didn’t want to upset the Pakastanis or some happy horse crap like that. To tell you the truth I am kind of offended that Geraldo thinks that he is a military expert now just because he rode along with some soldiers while we were busy kicking Iraq’s ass.

Notice how if he can’t attack the content of the argument successfully he attacks the character of the person he disagrees with…”You are a politician looking to make a political point.” Geraldo would be much more comfortable at NBC or MSNBC but then whom would he argue with?

Posted on November 2, 2012 at 3:41pmAs much as I regularly take issue with Geraldo, and I am NOT a Geraldo fan, he brings up an interesting point–suggesting that we were incapable of responding to the attack in Libya! Well, folks, if we’re going to use ex-military on the ground, maybe we need some ex-military assets in the air, too! I cannot get the image out of my mind of a Seal on the ground, exposing his position by illuminating an enemy mortar, while listening to a drone overhead, but not knowing the drone was ‘armed’ with only a camera! His death is OUR responsibility! He did his part; we didn’t do ours!
