Mother of State Dept. Official Killed in Benghazi: ‘I Believe Obama Murdered My Son’

The families of the four Americans killed in the terrorist attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi on Sept. 11 continue to grieve, however, they are also continuing to speak out.

A father and a mother used the word “murder” when discussing the Obama administration’s response to the attack while an older brother of one of the victims is not questioning the decisions made in the heat of battle, UT San Diego reports.

Patricia Smith, the mother of Sean Smith, a State Department computer wiz killed in the assault, told the paper that she blames President Barack Obama for the death of her son.

β€œI believe that Obama murdered my son,” she told UT San Diego from the living room of her Clairemont home. “I firmly believe this.”

Believe it or not, the mother actually voted for Obama in the 2008 election because of her son, Sean, who encouraged her to do so. Sean Smith was reportedly an avid supporter of the president.

Charles Woods, the father of slain former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, argues the White House should have made an effort to save the Americans under attack in Benghazi.

β€œI’m a retired attorney, and I know that these actions legally do not constitute murder. But in my mind the people in the White House, all of them who have authority to send in reinforcements to prevent what they knew was going to be the death of my son, are guilty of murdering my son,” Woods told Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Sunday.

The older brother of Glen Doherty, a former Navy SEAL from Encinitas working as a U.S. security contractor, said Doherty and Tyrone Woods were part of the force that responded to the consulate attack.

β€œThey rescued a bunch of people and brought them to the (consulate) annex, and then people defended the annex after Glen and Ty fell. All those people didn’t get overrun and wiped out. They had enough people to fight off that battle,” said Greg Doherty, who lives in Kensington in Northern California.

In that light, Doherty said the debate over needing more help doesn’t make sense to him, unless it might have been U.S. airstrikes against a mortar position used by attackers.

β€œBut then you are getting into real specific strategy, and I don’t think it is civilians’ job to pick apart an actual battle and talk strategy, unless you are a general,” said Doherty, reached by telephone Thursday.

GOP lawmakers and others have criticized for Obama administration for what has been perceived as a lack of transparency in the aftermath of the attack. The White House also spent nearly two weeks blaming an anti-Muslim YouTube video for the attack before eventually admitting that itΒ  was a coordinated terrorist attack on the anniversary of 9/11.

Currently, the Obama administration is under the gun and being asked to explain why more resources weren’t sent to Benghazi to save the Americans that were under attack. CBS News reported on Thursday that a key counter-terror task force wasn’t even convened that night.

Former SEAL Brent Gleeson of San Diego said it is questionable whether help might have been able to arrive in time. Additionally, flying in troops from another country would have required ground support.

β€œLogistically speaking, it’s not as black and white as people are making it sound. It’s not just, call for help and they fly in the reinforcements,” Gleeson said.

β€œIf they fly people in, well great, how are they going to get to the target? They need vehicles. Where from? Unless the vehicles are staged there already, logistically in that situation it’s kind of a nightmare. They weren’t prepared for this, obviously,” he added.

      I have offered my service to the People to vote me in on their Ballot as United States Sheriff, I am totally committed to the People and my Country to put a stop to these type of tirades. I Lonnie A. Smith would arrest Obama himself, along with the rest of his Corrupt Admin., and this is a long list. I would use my Authority to arrest any Politician for Criminal Activities against American’s, regardless of their Parties. The Constitution cannot and under my Authority would not be disregarded as Obama has done. The Senate; The House of Rep’s. and SCOTUS would adhere to the Laws of The Constitution. These Criminals Cannot Go Unpunished for their Crimes. God Bless America.

    I don’t buy the idea that these people were sacrificed because the violence in the Libya doesn’t fit into the administrations storyline. Something much worse has happened. Our enemy there has something, some evidence or information, something so damning to this administration that all 4 of these people were sacrificed to keep it a secret. When US made missiles are used against Israeli military aircraft or commercial airlines we will know what the secret is. I think this administration has given our mortal enemies state of the art US made military weapons. The cover up is the least of the crimes committed.

    The administration was playing a dangerous game of funneling weapons from Libya to Syria through Turkey and got caught and the ambassador was sacrificed and the other three were collateral damage. I feel for the parents and glad they are speaking.

      I agree Stelex. In May 2008, the media was dead to me. Told the Denver Post where to throw their newspaper, and watched Fox News only until they axed Glenn. I now get my news on the internet…The Blaze just posted an article on how the internet news spreads faster and farther than any media outlet. Roger Simon of PJ Media also touched on this. I believe once Pres. Romney is in office, the lame street media needs to be more than smacked down. The media is guilty of treason.

    The guys on the ground had the ability to paint any target for the spector to clean up. Mortors were the biggest problem, not the small arms fire from the story I heard. What ever happend to carpet bombing? That is the way to go, low tech and devistating. There are no friendlies in the general population over there.

    This is especially heartbreaking that Mrs. Woods and her son both helped vote Obama into office. I hope this is a wake up call for more people who were duped by his Greek column presentations. Thank you Woods family for raising a son who loved America to give his life. I pray God’s peace washes over you.

    If the requested support over the previous month prior to the attack had been in place…the whole affair would have been thwarted. So, yes..Obama IS responsible for these deaths. AND his decisions armed known enemies of the U.S. So, yes..Obama committed treason. Straight Up.

      While O’scama is ultimately responsible this falls on the State Dept. because the woman who testified under oath said she was the one who denied the security! Now she may have did this on orders from the WH (likely I might add) until someone comes forward and proves otherwise he will get away with this in the legal sense! I hate to say that but at this point its sad but true!

      Hussein can’t have it both ways. If he wants us to believe that he did not know our consulate had already been attacked twice, and that the Brits had left, the Red Cross had left and Israel knew of an impeding 9/11 attack, then he is totally disengaged from current events and therefore doesn’t give a damn who gets killed in terror attacks.

    “Logistically speaking, it’s not as black and white as people are making it sound…” <- I don't know where they got this person, but this is contrary to every single person in the military I have spoken to including 2 people who are *currently* active SEALs. It wasn't even a matter of getting a bunch of troops into position, it was a matter of already having the target painted and just needing somebody to fly over and drop the limited area payload! Whether from a drone, plane, or other *readily available from multiple positions in the area* deployable units.

    I am not buying it one bit. This all needs to be exposed and explained. ASAP.

      Well said, Stelex. I wish I could stand back and not judge until all the facts come out, but the truth is the head of this admin has done nothing but lie to the American public for nearly 4 years. And, he again lied for 2 weeks about the attack being due to a stupid video, claiming this 6 times from his teleprompter at the UN. That he is an accomplished liar is what steers me away from giving him the benefit of the doubt. Right now, everyone is trying to cover up…this is one big clusterfluck where the lives of 4 Americans are lost due to doing nothing. G-d will see that the truth comes forth.
