‘Flip the GOP the Bird’: Here Are the Sights from the ‘Million Puppet March’ in Washington

The anti-Mitt Romney demonstration dubbed “The Million Puppet March” descended on Capitol Hill Saturday in support of public broadcasting. President Barack Obama’s supporters trashed the GOP candidate using signs branded with mostly Sesame Street-themed one-liners as they made their way through the streets of Washington D.C. dressed as Big Bird, Elmo and even Big Bird holding a trash can with Romney in it.

While you may be glad that you are not there right now, TheBlaze has compiled some of the best photos from the protest/puppet party:

A100 classless people using profanity with children around. Didn’t Oscar, Big Bird, Ernie, or Bert teach you manners? Sorry to say, but your old George H.W. Bush doll doesn’t look too much like Mitt.
TheBlaze didn’t post the video that Breitbart did. These people are clueless, don’t even know what they are protesting for, just that Romney is “meeeaan.”

Great message to send to the little kids!

Besides Sesame Street makes millions off merchandising royalties but they set up a second FOR Profit corporation so they could continue to leech off the taxpayer. But they don’t advertise that little fact. Let them pull their own weight! They have more than enough money.

Think about it…all these a-one top-notch people have nothing more to be concerned about than a lack of public funding for puppets that make a fortune. I cannot help but be soooooo positive that after this supportive and sweet demonstration for the Sesame puppets, all–or at least 75% of them will pile into vans and trucks with all the food and blankets they have collected for the storm victims in some of New York City’s other Burroughs than Manhattan–like Staten Island where there is no water, power, blankets, and let’s not forget that unnecessary luxury item–toilet paper. Here’s an idea, the kids in those areas could really use the distraction of a puppet show because they cannot even find their Tickle Me Elmo, or any other toy. They are finding dead bodies after the tractor unloads what he has cleared. Ya know, a few laughs would help them believe that they have not been forgotten. Give it a shot after such a meaningful march for Big Bird’s rights. I would venture that Big Bird and all the other Sesame characters would be pretty ashamed of the adults in the room–if there are any remaining.

PBS was established in a time when many people didn’t have access to family friendly and educational shows for kids. Now we have Hundreds of channels to choice from, on demand and the internet with hours of educational entertainment of adults and kids. Also, PBS now makes more than enough to run all there shows without government help. Where did all that money go from the tickle me elmo’s, and thousands of other crap you can buy about sesame street.

Absolutely correct: for the younger than 50 crowd – Up to the mid sixties, there were three TV channels in most major cities; ABC, NBC, and CBS. By the mid sixties “Public Broadcasting” which was referred to at the time as “the Education Channel” or simply “UHF” was a daily sequence of shows meant to be aired in local school classrooms. They were things like earth science, mathematics, English grammar, history, etc.

At that time it was the local educational tax dollar that paid for the production of these TV shows, and justified because they actually contributed to the local educational system. These were NOT commercially viable programs. (although I actually enjoyed the science programming we were made to watch in the 7th grade!) If a county wished to utilize the programming, they contributed to it’s production. If they chose not to use it, they didn’t pay!

To me, this is just another example of how a tax program that may be a good thing when handled on a local level can become a twisted monstrosity when taken to the federal level. At the local level it’s the people paying taxes that decide where that money get’s spent by participating in their local school board. At the federal level it is the un-elected bureaucracy officials that make that decision – regardless of what the people paying the bill actually think.

As Dr. Frankenstein would tell you – once created, monstrosities usually turn on their creators and are usually very difficult to kill.

MMM. Puppets. What more appropriate symbol could the Democrats pick to represent themselves? Their elite leaders tell them what to think, what to say, what to eat, what to smoke, not to resist when someone or the government assaults you, what TV show to watch, and what God is appropriate to worship. And if any of the people they think should be their puppets start to think for themselves, like Stacy Dash, Allan West, Mia Love, Etc., Democrats will spare no slander, or threat to bring them back in line.

Obama and his minions continue to prove their smallness, over and over and over. Childish and petulant. Were I a participant in this travesty I should feel humiliated to the core.

And knowing Obama’s penchant for “revenge”, the march must have delighted whatever passes for his soul.
