‘Wasn’t Advertised Properly’: Fewer Than 200 Reportedly Show Up for Pro-Obama Rally Featuring Stevie Wonder

Fewer Than 200 Show Up for Obama Rally Featuring Stevie Wonder at Cleveland State University

Cleveland.com is reporting that fewer than 200 people showed up for a unique get-out-the-vote rally for President Obama featuring legendary musician Stevie Wonder.

Located at Cleveland State University, Brandon Blackwell of The Plain Dealer writes that the event was primarily to encourage early voting, but that perhaps Obama supporters weren’t given enough warning to clear their schedules for the mini-concert.

Blackwell relates:

Obama for America Ohio, which hosted the rally, informed its nearly 34,000 followers on Twitter about the event around 10 a.m.

“Perhaps it wasn’t advertised properly, but the people who are here are fired up,” said Bill Milhoan, of Mentor.

Milhoan, who said he supports Obama, was one of the few people in the crowd who have not already voted.

“It would be disingenuous to say I am here because of Obama,” he said. “How do you pass up a chance to see Stevie Wonder?”

The event did start pretty early, with Wonder reportedly taking the stage at around 10:30 a.m.Β  Many just followed the music, apparently, and had no idea they were walking into an early-morning get-out-the-vote rally.

However, apparently the Obama campaign has had high hopes for the impact of the president’s Hollywood backers.Β  ABC News wrote today that the president is finishing his campaign with a “star-studded blitz” and “banking on a final burst of star power to boost his get-out-the-vote effort.”

To that end, Wonder reportedly told the roughly 200 people in the crowd: “I do a song. You go vote. You come back. We do some more music.”

Was just on the Drudge and it showed a guy in the Rockaways with a bow saying he would not hesitate to use it…..awesome….a bow is the perfect weapon for the patient hunter….almost silent and always lethal….good hunting brother.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL This is funnier then anything I have heard today. I wouldn’t be surprised if nobody showed but that is a pipe dream of mine. But then I am a patriot & can’t tolerate a leader who will not defend our own people. I’m talking about Benghazi. This is a music video tribute about why you should respect our flag & all those who watch over us and give their lives to keep us free! We lost 4 good men who gave their lives for nothing because this administration would not try & save them.

I’m pretty sure that Stevie Wonder could get more than a crowd of 200 to stop and listen in an unannounced street concert. The Obama rally was the people repellant. Everything turned out fine. They told Stevie there were millions of people there and he left happy.

Due to security and crowd control concerns, it was necessary to keep the rally small and intimate. I hope no one told Stevie Wonder about that though. He’s probably taken nearly that many as staff and crew on concert tours with him in years past. Let’s hope those that showed up were not on his payroll in the past.

“Due to security and crowd control concerns, it was necessary to keep the rally small and intimate.”

If that was the case, why would they send out Tweets announcing the event to 34,000 people and feature entertainment by someone that should ensure a large turnout? What puzzles me is that Stevie Wonder gave a free concert on a state university campus and only 200 bothered to attend. Granted there was short notice, but even so, it wouldn’t be out of line to expect at least a couple of thousand to show up.

You are talking about the October surprise being the kidnapping of Stevens. That was most likely the plan. However, the SEALS blew it. That was most likely the reason that they were told to stand down. I imagine that Stevens was not in on the ploy so he then wound up dead. Now the CIA is claiming that they sent help within 24 minutes. But, the only response within 24 minutes was the two SEALS, Woods and Doherty. So I guess that now the story is not that they were told to stand down.

      Pitiful, just plain pitiful.

@WHITERIGHT – 0 is ineligible. An Attorney Mario Apuzzo, Esq. has done ALL the research on Article III and said “for he is neither a “natural born citizen” nor a “citizen of the United States at the time of the adoption of this constitution.” He has all the proof and related court cases. The reading of it is intense and long…could take a week. But he has proved 0′s ineligibility to hold the office of President. What a mess. Can someone ineligible be tried for treason if he’s not even a citizen?

I don’t give a crap about a “relatable narrative”, whatever that is. Your mistake Mr. Obama is that you want to turn America into a third world craphole as a penance for all the “wrongs” you think we have done to the rest of the world. If you would have presided over this great nation as though you love it, instead of denigrating it at every opportunity, in front of every tin pot dictator and communist in the world, we might have a much different opinion of your presidency.
