Bill O’Reilly took on fellow Fox News host Geraldo Rivera over his explosive Benghazi confrontation on “Fox & Friends,” demanding to know when he turned into a “waffler.”

Rivera got into a shouting match with Fox News’ Eric Bolling Friday morning, accusing him of “misleading the American people because you want to make a political point” by attacking President Barack Obama.

“You’re wrong on the wrong side of this and here’s why,” O’Reilly told Rivera on “The O’Reilly Factor” Friday night, pointing to documentation that U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and others had asked the State Department for additional security in August, a month before Stevens and three others were killed.

“You are not one of these touchy-feely, politically correct liberal people on these issues — surely you’re upset that the State Department of the United States would not protect their own. Surely you are,” O’Reilly said.

Rivera said Obama has been “absolutely slandered on this story, he’s been called a liar and a murderer.”

” — not by anybody here and not by rational people,” O’Reilly cut in.

Rivera said he thinks the president is owed an apology and held that Obama did everything he could to protect the personnel in Benghazi, and that there is no reason to criticize him for what happened the day of the attack.

He did, however, call it a “fair question” about why Stevens wasn’t given more security.

“That’s a fair question and that’s why I believe there should be vigorous hearings to determine whose idea was it to keep our people in harm’s way with so little help,” Rivera said.

He said it was also fair to question U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice’s television appearances after the attack when she said the best information indicated it was due to an anti-Islam web video.

“That also deserves severe inspection because I believe there are real valid questions about whether or not to protect the president’s image as ‘Bin Laden killer’ they spun an act of terrorism into an act of vandalism,” Rivera said.

Rivera agreed with O’Reilly that Obama should have immediately held a press conference to answer about what happened, but said it wouldn’t do much because of the required secrecy for the national security issues at stake.

“He’s running away from it because it would hurt him in the election,” O’Reilly declared.

“I just think we have lost some good people under really tragic circumstances that need really to be vigorously investigated, but it’s not a political issue,” Rivera insisted.

“When did you turn into a waffler?” O’Reilly demanded. “When did that happen?”

“It’s not — Bill, I am a war correspondent,” Rivera said. “I am a war correspondent, I’ve been in combat in Benghazi, Libya.”

  TOO bad they missed. This piece of bull dung is in the tank for the liar in chief, and the only “war correspondent” to give away the position of our troops in the Iraq war. He should have been tried for treason then!
  It just amazes me how they can just out right lie to your face and never answer a direct question. Why? because they know they are wrong!!!

  Sure, no idea where you get your information but your formed opinion of Bill O is, as he would say, “on the wrong side of this.” The No Spin Zone is exactly that in case you haven’t taken notice.
  
  If the man is willing to interrupt POTUS 19 times furing an interview, I’d say he has the nads to ask the hard questions that nobody else in the media has…. Suffice it to say the O’reilly Factor has dominated the cable news for 11 years (in a row) and has even torched the main stream media news on several occasions in terms of ratings.

  So, how was it that Orielly was able to interview ‘bama (4) years ago? Because…, Orielly is soft and ‘bama knew it. After his interview, Orielly praised him (whereas it was Hannity who at least challenged ‘bama’s validity). As for Fair and Balanced??? Orielly presents an opinionated show, not factual. He wants to give both sides of an issue equal value… so how is that supposed to help you distinguish between right and wrong? After watching his show, you end up with more questions than answers. Geraldo is just a chair stopper. I agree with SOCIALISTSLAYER… Orielly and Geraldo both suck.

O’Reilly is willfully uninformed and ignorant, in my opinion, and a coward to boot.   “I am a war correspondent” So what?.. Gerry has never served in the military period. He knows nothing of the experience outside of palling around superficially with service men in order to get a story. It rreally was humorous watching him when he was running around Libya with a bunch of cartoonish/ Keystone cop rebels who apparently had just picked weapons a few days earlier. He almost got shot by the rebels who didn’t really know what end the bullet comes out of..as result he literally messed his pants and went off camera

  Neither Bill nor Geraldo will ever go. O’Reilly appeals both to the Reagan Democrats and the Nursing Home Republicans (both of whom still miss the days of the Ted Koppel, Dan Rather, and Sam Donaldson media). Rivera appeals to the Chicano Republicans. Rivera said Obama has been “absolutely slandered on this story, he’s been called a liar and a murderer.” Which only proves what I have DESPERATELY been trying to get through all of you White Folks’ heads: ONLY the White Man is fool enough to commit sui-genocide.   Geraldo Rivera is as big a race baiter as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. His Fox show ALWAYS – no exceptions – covers something to do with race (blaming anything he doesn’t like on race).

  He assumes that the cover-up was not implemented to hide gross miscalculation and ineptitude.

  Well, MY assumption is that if the WH did all that it could to help these people on 9/11, it would be very easy to explain all that they did, who was there and what was said.

  It is starting to look more and more like Obama’s administration was engaged in a “Fast and Furious” debacle in the mideast, and were arming Al Qaeda insurgents in order to overthrow both the Libyan and Syrian governments. If those allegations are true, then all administrations officials who consented to it are guilty of arming sworn enemies of the United States – which is an act of treason. If that is not what happened, then why is the administration refusing to tell what they knew, and when they knew it? Something really stinks here. There needs to be a special counsel appointed to investigate.

When my father in-law diedc my wife and her brother wetre in agreement over the holographic will he had made, but the estate lawyer said that what my wife & her brother agreed on was not what he ment.   Geraldo – is in the war zones behind the troops, relatively safe… There are a ton of things that could have been done… F16s, F15s could have buzzed the area at Mach 1.5 which could have rattled the attackers. Why did CIA & ex Seal think a specter gun ship was in the air? Its about 800 miles between Incirlik AB, Adana, Turkey and Benghazi, Libya – there are 15s and f 16 there. How long do you think it would have taken the alert aircraft to get there and help… Just a hint (less than 2 hours)… Don’t tell me there wasn’t anything the military could do about it… With the laser and laser guided bombs, the terrorists would have been obliterated… There is all kinds of shocking things we could have done… I think the President wanted the Ambassador dead… That’s what I think and the rest is just collateral damage… Prove me wrong… Please….

He was feeling neglected because the real investigative reporters were being praised and listened to so he had to do something to stick his nose into the mix so we would be talking about him again.   Geraldo is out for himself. I wonder what Obama promised him? Obama is a liar, thief and murderer. Yet no one is calling him it on it. His inaction and refusal to provide more security directly led to the deaths in Benghazi. His allowing guns to be given to drug lords directly led to the deths of our border patrolmen and 100′s of Mexicans who sold their dead countrymen down the river to vote for Obama.
  Obama has murdered an American 15 yr old boy whose only crime is that his dad was a terrorist. Obama is issuing Treasuries so he can buy them in anticipation of more borrowing at a higher interest rate which will be paid by taxpayers. BTW he will pay the same effective rate as Romney.

Bill O’Reilly has been closing his eyes and ears to this whole thing as well. News sources know very well that the reason we have a cover up concerning Benghazi is because the people there were selling guns and recruiting people to send to the Islamic forces in Syria. Something that is illegal to begin with. If O’Reilly pretends he doesn’t know that he is just as bad as Gerado.
The Obama administration is working with the Muslim Brotherhood to help them establish their monopoly in the middle east. I would call it what it is– caliphate –except most people do not acknowledge what that is. Once they have established total control of all the once secular governments they will attack Israel. Then they would like to set their sights on the US. Do you wonder why Hillary and Obama keep covering for the Islamic radicals? They are in the tank with them! That is the UN policy so that is what Obama and Hillary will do because they are globalists. They want a UN dominated world with international law enforced. No borders. Geraldo is NOT a war correspondent! Even if he were a “war correspondent” it still does not make him an expert in any capacity!! I saw him in Libya running and hiding behind things! All he does is put on his little helmet and follow the real military people around and wait for a photo op. He actually puts real military people in danger because of his presence. If they deny him access he puts up a big stink with the government until he gets in. He is a disgrace to even be around real military people who have fought in real battles! He has no sources, no insight, nothing! War Correspondent!! That would be laughable if it were not such a huge lie!
He attacked the father of Ty Woods on F&F yesterday! Imagine he thinks Obama needs an apology and not the father of Ty Woods?? Geraldo is a disgrace! Fox should send him packing to MSNBC where he belongs.

I agree that I don’t know if you can call him a murderer, but he sat for 7 hours while the embassy was attacked. He did nothing while 4 Americans were killed.
