Beck Discusses the Choice America Faces Moving Forward in Special Election Edition of the Glenn Beck Program

Buck Sexton and Glenn Beck During a Special Election Edition of the Glenn Beck Program Sunday (TheBlaze TV)
With Americans heading to the polls in less than 48 hours, a special election edition of the Glenn Beck Program aired on TheBlaze TV Sunday night.
“This is the most critical choice America has ever faced,” Beck said in the show’s opening. “We won’t survive another four years of this.”
The show examined the economic distress of the last four years, in addition to foreign policy failures of this administration that have come to the forefront of the national discussion in recent weeks.
While examining the stark choice of ideology Americans face between Obama and Republican Mitt Romney, Sunday’s show pointed out how different each campaign views the purpose of voting. During a rally Friday, President Obama said “voting’s the best the revenge.”
The tough choice of words caught the attention of the Romney campaign which released an ad Sunday outlining the differences in the way each candidate views voting. While voting may be an act of revenge for Obama and his supporters, Romney said during a rally Friday and emphasized again in the ad; “I ask the American people to vote for love of country.”
“The truth is very, very clear,” Beck said after laying out the two visions for America presented by each candidate. “The president is on the wrong side of history.”
Beck argued Sunday that Obama is the most anti-business president in over a half century, creating 11,327 pages of business-killing regulation in his first three years, while making ideological decisions like denying the keystone pipeline that cost America thousands of jobs.
To discuss the negative impact Obama’s policies have had on business, Beck was joined on the show by Cato Institute President John Allison, former Ameritrade COO Pete Ricketts, Friess Associates Chairman Foster Friess, and CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce Harry Alford.
Sunday’s show also put the spotlight on the decision America faces in regards to foreign policy and how each candidate wants to represent the United States on the world stage. Over the last few months we’ve been reminded of this administration’s approach and response to crises abroad that threaten American lives. Along with not meeting the security concerns of Americans in Libya leading up to a deadly Sept.11 attack on a consulate in Benghazi, the Obama administration has failed to a present a clear representation of the facts in the subsequent investigation into what really happened.
“The president knows what he did and did not do, and the facts are not evolving,” Beck said Sunday.
TheBlaze’s national security editor Buck Sexton joined the show to discuss the timeline of events leading up to the Benghazi attack, the mixed-messages we have received from the administration trying to explain what really happened, and what has been discovered through investigations since September.
In addition to Libya, Beck and Sexton discussed the president’s leadership during the Arab Spring and his approach to halting Iranian nuclear weapons development.

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 6:03amI work in the financial markets. The debt and inflation “hockey stick” Glenn explained in this video is a great concern to me. Once we bring back real economic growth, all the money that the Fed has electronically “printed” will unleash unbridled inflation. Romney had nothing to do with that, but it will manifest itself once the economy takes off again. Romney has promised to replace “Bubbles” Bernanke, but Bernanke’s term doesn’t end until January 2014. He needs to ask for Bernanke’s resignation on day one and make the case to Americans why this is so critical.
Bernanke has painted us into a corner. Historically, to fight inflation, past Fed Chairmen (Volcker, for example) raised interest rates. But Bernanke can’t because the interest costs would consume ALL federal tax revenues and would thereby bankrupt the US Treasury. He has left us no way out!
Big government, expensive entitlements, staggering debt, and money printing are hallmarks of socialism. They destroyed the Chilean government in the early 1970′s, causing hyperinflation. We need to be prepared for this when Romney restores solid growth.

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 2:47amI want Romney to win so bad I can’t stand it. I am really scared at all these “polls” that have Obama taking it in a landslide. How can Americans be so blind? You have white liberals voting for Obama just because he’s black. You have blacks voting for Obama just because he’s black. You have illegal aliens, who shouldn’t even be voting, will vote for Obama just because they think they’ll get a free handout. You have Jews going to vote for Obama just because they are liberals. What an uphill battle it is for Romney.
Obama is a radical Marxist. Just look at radical upbringing from his mom to all his commie buddies. I know the Marxist Media is protecting him at all costs, but wake up people. Voting for Obama is like voting for Castro or Hugo Chavez. I hate to say it again, but if America reelects this radical Marxist, then we will get whatever punishment we deserve from God. It’s all about free will. We have the freedom to choose, but be prepared for the consequences of our choice.

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 12:47amSOY – i know that technically there are more than 2 choices, but because of the system we have, there are only 2 people that have the possibility to win. this is not me buying into the media’s BS, this is just me looking at reality. I wish it weren’t like this, I pray that someday our whole entire election and voting process will get a complete overhaul, but this is what we’re stuck with for now. like I said, it’s gonna be impossible to undo all the damage that has been done all at once, but i really feel that if we can get obama out of the white house, the process of rebuilding america won’t be completely impossible. but if we get stuck with him, we’re totally, completely f-ed. we will have no chance of ever turning our country back to the constitution, let alone overhauling the election process. in a 2nd term, he doesn’t have to worry about re-election, so he won’t have to give a crap about what the people think of him. he can sign himself into complete power, declare martial law, and send us all into FEMA camps on the grounds of our conservative beliefs. yeah, this sounds like doomsday, but it’s really not much of a stretch if you really think about it and look at how he has just skipped right over congress and signed all these executive orders. a 2nd term gives him free reign to do as he wishes, and he basically said so himself to some dude – russian leader? UN guy? i dont know, dont remember – when he thought his microphone was off.

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 12:37amplus the fact that the majority of people are not extremists. most people are fairly moderate-minded about most issues, having a few specific issues that they are very passionate about. a leader who can work with all types of people who have differing opinions and ideas and be able to accomplish whatever task or issue they were tackling is a great leader. that is what we need, and that is what so many americans are longing for – someone to unite everyone again, regardless of if people are democrat or republican. right now, our country is so divided it’s disgusting. we need a leader who can bridge this gap that’s just totally erupted due to Obama’s constant attacks and pitting one side against the other. we need someone who will bring people back together and lead us to become better than what we have been and to expect better things instead of settling for how it’s been. wake up america! it’s time to come together and turn our country around!

That is not a great sign for America – it is a warning sign. IF Romney were to win, American people are still just as ignorant as the day Obama took office. It is going to take something massive to change the hearts of America – and Romney obviously isnt it

FACT – Obama is a socialist
FACT – Romney was liberal to start with and has moved to the left after the republican primary
FACT – Romney and Obama are neck-and-neck 2 days before the election
THEREFORE – American voters are pretty much just as liberal today as they were 4 years ago (even after 4 years of seeing it firsthand)
CONCLUSION – If 4 months of full-time Romney publicity and campaigning has not moved the voters to the right, then he will not as president either. Do not pretend it will be sunshine and lollipops if Romney gets elected. On this subject, Glenn Beck fools himself and it is probably more to do with the ‘first Mormon president” thing just like other people were saying “first black president” 4 years ago. Dont be fooled

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 12:22amLook, I know that alot of people don’t want to vote for Romney cuz he’s not conservative enough. But, unfortunately, when you boil everything down, we are essentially only given 2 choices. it sucks, but that’s how it is. choice A or B, like it or not, ya gotta pick one of the two. yes, it’s atotally messed up system and we should have other viable options to choose from (that actually have a chance of winning) but this is what we got, so it’s up to us to decide which of the 2 candidates is closer to what’s written in the constitution. I know that Romney is definately nowhere near being the ideal constitutionalist candidate, but he’s a whole hell of alot closer than Obama, who has spent the past 4 yrs wiping his a$$ with our constitution. It took a long time for the liberals to tear us down to where we’re at today, & it’s gonna take alot longer than one election period to fix it. I pray that in each future election we’ll have candidates that are closer and closer to upholding ALL of what is written in the constitution. but if obama wins, i am extremely fearful that any chance of ever repairing our broken country will be totally gone. At least with Mitt Romney, we are inching a step in the right direction. anyone who holds the constitution to be the supreme law of the land and chooses not to vote because Romney isn’t conservative enough is aiding and abetting obaminator

Romney has never been a liberal. He has always been a business man and worked across the aisle, but with a conservative mindset.
I don’t know what you are trying to achieve…. do you want 4 more years of communist influence?

There are more than two choices. You have accepted the narrative that there are only two – but there will likely be 3 to 5 choices depending on where you live. Do you always blindly follow what the media tells you? A huge benefit to voting for Gary Johnson is that it moves us closer to breaking the two-party monopoly system – you should support that. It will never be convenient for the republican party so i am not going to voluntarily make myself a hostage. If you want my Gary Johnson vote – nominate a Constitutional candidate or change the election laws

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 12:54amSOY – i’m honestly not trying to be a smarta$$, im just trying to understand. how is a vote for Gary Johnson moving us a step closer to breaking the 2-party system? i understand how voting for him could be considered “making a statement” against the current election process (which totally sucks), but i really think that there is so much at stake here in this election that now really isn’t the greatest time to make a statement or to try and fix something that’s gonna take a lot of time and effort to fix. before we can fix the things that need fixing, it is absolutely imperative that we remove obama. by removing obama, we are one step closer to overhauling not just the election process but everything else that’s wrong as well. an obama victory would mean that we’re never gonna have more than 2 parties, it may even mean that we’re never gonna have any political parties ever again to vote on because he could crown himself almighty dictator and king of the world.

I responded to your question in your post above. Voting Gary Johnson does indeed break the 2 party monopoly, for the reasons I listed. If he gets 5% this time, and with the name recognition, extra money, and instant ballot acces – it isnt hard to imagine him getting 15% next time – which means he will be in the debates. 38% of voters describe themselves as independents
I took exception to your initial post because the whole “there are only 2 choices” argument is usually made by the ignorant in order to distort facts. I hope you would not throw your hat in with them. You seem like a genuine person – there are no hard feelings, I just wanted to make sure we are clear

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 1:27amI understand what you’re saying, Soy, but I think that Mr Romney is taking a low key approach so as not to “frighten the horses”, so to speak.
You must remember that he is also attempting to persuade those that are mildly left of centre to vote for him. While it would be very satisfying to yank things around to the hard right, I think that many democrats would be so alarmed that they might prefer to stay with the devil that they know.
Mr Romney has repeatedly hammered two main points, and rightly so IMHO. Firstly, creating a job friendly environment; there will simply be no recovery if people cannot find work. If there is no recovery, there is not much point in talking about anything else.
Secondly; education reform. Many problems that now exist in the western world, in my opinion, are there because control of the education system was ceded to the left. They taught the children their ideology and in many cases, it stuck.
I think that Mr Romney will gently but firmly steer your nation back on course. And that will be to the great relief of all free nations, I’m sure.
