Romney Landslide: Here Are the Biggest Names Predicting It & How It Will Happen

More and more pundits on both political sides are taking the electoral leap and predicting a landslide for Mitt Romney. Here are some notable ones:

1. CNBC Anchor Larry Kudlow

Kudlow said on his CNBC show “The Kudlow Report” on Oct. 25:  ”I am now predicting a 330 vote electoral landslide.”

2.  MSNBC Host Joe Scarborough

Based on Scarborough’s insights on Politico:

“But my gut tells me there are two likely scenarios: (1) President Obama will squeak out a narrow Electoral College victory or (2) Mitt Romney will carry Ohio and be swept into office by a comfortable margin.

After practicing politics for 20 years, I suppose I would rather be in Mitt Romney’s shoes than Barack Obama’s. Incumbents who are under 50 percent two weeks out usually go down to defeat.”

3.  Strategist Karl Rove

Rove said Wednesday in the Wall Street Journal:

“In addition to the data, the anecdotal and intangible evidence–from crowd sizes to each side’s closing arguments–give the sense that the odds favor Mr. Romney. They do. My prediction: Sometime after the cock crows on the morning of Nov. 7, Mitt Romney will be declared America’s 45th president. Let’s call it 51%-48%, with Mr. Romney carrying at least 279 Electoral College votes, probably more.”

4.  Columnist George Will

George Will outlined a huge Romney Election Day in an interview on ABC’s “This Week,” predicting a 321-217 landslide that included nearly every swing state including Minnesota.

5.  Pundit Dick Morris

Romney Landslide: Here Are The Biggest Names Predicting It & How It Will Happen

In a recent editorial for The Hill, Morris explained in detail his landslide prediction:

“Reasonable voters saw that the voice of hope and optimism and positivism was Romney while the president was only a nitpicking, quarrelsome, negative figure. The contrast does not work in Obama’s favor. His erosion began shortly after the conventions when Indiana (10 votes) and North Carolina (15) moved to Romney (in addition to the 179 votes that states that McCain carried cast this year).

Then, in October, Obama lost the Southern swing states of Florida (29) and Virginia (13). He also lost Colorado (10), bringing his total to 255 votes. And now, he faces the erosion of the northern swing states: Ohio (18), New Hampshire (4) and Iowa (6). Only in the union-anchored state of Nevada (9) does Obama still cling to a lead.

In the next few days, the battle will move to Pennsylvania (20), Michigan (15), Wisconsin (10) and Minnesota (16). Ahead in Pennsylvania, tied in Michigan and Wisconsin, and slightly behind in Minnesota, these new swing states look to be the battleground.”

Morris also predicted a huge day for the GOP in the Senate:

“The most likely outcome? Eight GOP takeaways and two giveaways for a net gain of six. A 53-47 Senate, just like we have now, only opposite. Barack Obama’s parting gift to the Democratic Party.”

6.  Columnist Micheal Barone

The Washington Examiner columnist says Romney will walk away with 315 electoral votes:

”Bottom line: Romney 315, Obama 223. That sounds high for Romney. But he could drop Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and still win the election. Fundamentals.”

7. Las Vegas oddsmaker Wayne Allen Root

Root said in a column posted on FoxNews.com:

“I’m predicting a 5 to 7 point popular vote victory. Electorally it won’t even be that close. Romney will win many states that went to Obama in 2008. I’m predicting Romney victories in Ohio, Florida, Colorado, Virginia, Iowa, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Indiana. I predict a Romney victory by 100 to 120 electoral votes.”

 7. Israel

Romney Landslide: Here Are The Biggest Names Predicting It & How It Will Happen

Abe Katsman of the Times of Israel writes of the Romney landslide among American voting in Israel:

“The Presidential election results are in.  Well, at least the votes from Americans in Israel.  Not one to keep readers in suspense, I’ll reveal the most important numbers up front: Gov. Mitt Romney received 85%–85%!–of the vote; President Obama managed only 14.3%.  This,  according to exit polling just released by iVoteIsrael, the non-partisan group promoting and facilitating voting by U.S. citizens currently in Israel.  Their statistics reveal some fascinating results.  More importantly, these results have implications for the outcome of next week’s election.  (Again, not to keep you in suspense: those implications favor the Republicans.)”

BONUS: Glenn Beck

“321-217 victory for Romney in the electoral college.”

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

      @Monk: hopefully

@Think: I expect the final choice of the SCOTUS will be to give the election to Obama. It is the only way he can win in the end short of declaring martial law, nullify the elections and proclaim a dictatorship.

IF he does that (I figure 1 in 3 chance) then we have a civil war on our hands.

If Romney wins by a landslide, it will be because of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vs-HOaZzeMs
The same way they did the primaries and caucuses, and you guys are so against Democrats doing similar.
I still do not see these so called experts taking the Ron Paul supporter affect into consideration, little monkey wrench, and we are hopeful that all of you will blame us if Romney loses, in fact we are looking forward to the blame, if it happens.

      Hi West Coast Patriot,

Your video states that those same voting machines were in place in 2007.

So how did Obama win that County in 2008 when those same, supposed Repub backed machines, were in place?

The video and the accusations make no sense.

If he refuses to leave, I think he will go peacefully, there are agencies, beginning with the secret service, to remove them. Buh bye, Valarie.

The-Monk, Gosh, McCain did not have an interest in this company and Romney would not be in this race if McCain had won in ’08 now would he? That is the best explanation to your question that I can come up with.
Research the primaries and Caucuses this year, and if you do good research, you will find that there were many shenanigans going on in Romney’s favor, to actual violations of federal law and possible vote flipping.

No, maybe not but, if the “company” likes Republicans so much and if they’re willing to violate Federal law now (like the video is suggesting) why didn’t they cheat back in 2008 and support McCain?

The-Monk, Here is something I found quite interesting this week. I just got back from a trip halfway across America to visit my ailing mother, and I had the pleasure of talking with my uncle, who is a lot like all of you Romney supporters. He espoused the same old rhetoric; Lesser of Two Evils, Our country is toast if Obama gets another four, a vote for anyone but Romney is a vote for Obama, etc… I told him I was going to tell him where he did his research, and to tell me if I was right. I said; “You get all your research from Fox News as that is all you watch all day, right?” He paused for a moment, and then he said, “Yes.” I sat with him for an hour each day over the week and showed him research that I had done over the last year, and he just kept telling me I was bursting his bubbles. He is now rethinking his vote and I just chalk that up to one for the good guys. I have tried on many occasions to put up links that I have researched over the last several months, but a lot seem to be blocked by The Blaze, in fact, I find that my posts go up quicker and get through when I have not posted for a while, but after several posts, they start taking hours to post again, or do not show up at all. I find it quite strange.

The-Monk, You are not thinking in the grand scheme. Do you really believe that there is no conspiracy going on to move us toward a One World Economic Order? This is what is happening. It is the powers to be, the central banks and large financial companies, that are calling the shots. Obama was supposed to win (backed by Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Powerhouse Waters, Credit Suisse, etc…). Now Romney is backed by those same companies, and they are the ones in control. Research these companies, especially Credit Suisse who was illegally helping Iran with its nuclear program. Interesting things going on these days. Of course, Ron Paul was crazy, a loon, a racist and all these other false accusations, because he was the only real honest candidate in the race. We blew our chance for regaining the liberty that has been stolen from us, but the battle will continue no matter who wins.

Dude, can’t you just lose gracefully? You’re like Uncle Rico “man, if coach would have just put me in that last quarter, you bet things would have been different”. Seriously, Ron Paul lost, he isn’t coming back and it’s time for you to move on with your life. Whether or not you agree or ever agreed with anything he stood for (for the record, I did agree with a lot of what Ron Paul said but I have my own reasons why I don’t think he’d be a good President), was there really anyone who ever seriously thought Ron Paul was going to win? He has this great record of always voting the same way but he does not have a record of actually accomplishing anything. And I’m sorry but your allegation that Romney will win by manipulating software is nonsense not only because of the reasons THE MONK has already pointed out (and which you have still not completely answered, you just tried to dodge it is all), but also because there has already been evidence of voting machines being tampered with in OBAMA’S favor. It makes me sad that one who would lambast people who supposedly vote for the “lesser of two evils” would relish his own admitted part in electing the greatest of the three evils (I counted Ron Paul there just for you) and look forward to flaunting it in the faces of Romney supporters. Voting for Romney isn’t voting for the lesser of two evils, it is choosing the best choice from the only two viable options available. Sorry but RP was never viabl

Ha Ha, You guys make me laugh. Time_2, you are just a anti-constitution guy, the rest of you are just followers of what the establishment wants. I am not rooting for Ron Paul anymore, he is out of the game, but I will vote for Liberty and not status quo. I just point out that you all let the media dictate to you that he was crazy, but a person who can predict this, in my humble opinion, is not crazy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifJG_oFFDK0
As far as MOMMATANGO’S Link, Real Clear Politics (A Conservative Polling Site) has it this way: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map.html
If you scroll down and look at the polls in the toss up states, you see Obama leading. If we just give Obama the polls that are 2.8+ he wins with 271 electoral votes. If we give him all states he leads in the polls, he wins with 290 electoral votes. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map_no_toss_ups.html
Of course, polls do not mean everything, but Real Clear Politics has always been pretty good in the past. To say Romney wins by a landslide is just disingenuous. Time_2, I will concede that you knew somehow of the criminal activity and blatant disregard of the peoples voices at the convention, but just shows that you are for mob rule and not for Constitutional Republic values.

Most of you folks wern’t around in 1980 when Carter was running for re-election. I see no difference than what we have right now.The unions including the UAW were pushing Carter. A new car loan was 2% and new home loans were 17%. Rich folks got very rich – a $10,000 cd paid 17% for 6 months. Remember George Soreass buying a billion bucks of gold 2 years ago when gold was $900 a ounce and it is around $1700 a ounce now. I think it was $700 when Obama went into office. About 1/5 of the country was laid off back then like it is now. This is scary stuff and why we need term limits.

Woah there, you’re sounding a little… angry. I guess that’s your thing though so, whatever. Anyway, nobody ever asked Ron Paul supporters to go away, I just said stop whining about it already. I also love the wild assumptions you make about me just because I don’t believe in your false Messiah. I mean, how can I possibly argue with your extreme clairvoyance? By the way, how is Miss Cleo doing?
Like I said, I have my own reasons for not wanting Ron Paul as President but that doesn’t mean I don’t like him or harbor any… anger… towards him (I wouldn’t want to be taking your job, now). In fact, I think Ron Paul is desperately needed in Romney’s cabinet and what irks me more than almost anything else about the Ron Paul campaign and his supporters is that they have been so stubborn and have behaved in such a way as to ensure that will never happen. Maybe it would have helped if you weren’t just angry…

If you support someone that supports socialism, you’re a socialist. If you support someone that has no respect for the Constitution, then you have no respect for the Constitution and so on. If he had, he would have been a lot more successful, and could have maybe kept the country from getting this screwed up…….and would not have damaged so many of his unstable followers.

Whenever I come on here, it seems that people like bashing Ron Paul supporters. I tend to agree with a lot that these RP supporters say. I was going to vote for Romney, like I did in the primary, but since the rule changes perpetrated by the Romney campaign and the RNC in Tampa, I just cannot do it. With the Democrats doing the same at their convention, it tells me that our supposed two party system is not a two party system anymore, but two parties working toward the same goal, big government that controls all the aspects of our lives. I am not sure who will win, but I am very skeptical about this landslide victory this story boasts. I watch the polls and I just do not see it. Well, we will all see in two days. I will be casting my vote for the Libertarian Party.

California, Sacto area. Unfortunately it really doesn’t matter who I vote for because the super majorities in the major metropolitan areas of LA and San Fran drown out the rest of the state. Geographically, the state is much more conservative than it is liberal but not population-wise. I’m actually considering writing in Obi-Wan Kenobi because 1) I’m not really fully satisfied with either candidate 2) There’s no way my vote is changing California going for Obama and 3) Obi-Wan Kenobi is our only hope.

My old neighbor is a racist, and he was just up in arms that a black man was running for president, and there is no way he voted for Obama in ’08, so I do not believe any actual racist voted for Obama. I am not racist, but I did not vote for Obama in “08, because I did not like his policy beliefs. Get a life, and quit judging people by the color of their skin and start looking at their character and belief system. You will be better off in life if you do.

I agree that the rule change was pretty low. However, was it more low than the Ron Paul campaign’s attempt to steal the election by grabbing delegate seats? I don’t know. I personally think that delegates, like any representative, should be voting for what the people they represent want them to vote for, personal preferences aside. The Ron Paul strategy was the opposite of this, in fact it was to get people in there to vote for Ron Paul no matter what anybody else said or how the primary votes came out. I understand that this is technically not against the rules but it’s also not really the most honest way of winning. So really, you try manipulate the system and then get mad when it bites back? I can’t really support the outrage over that.

I have heard a lot of people say a lot of similar things and I hope you are not one who would be starting the fight because it would be doomed to failure. The original American Revolution would have utterly failed if they had not first established a Continental Congress that brought all 13 colonies, with all their differing concerns, into one unified group with the same common purpose. That Congress, by necessity, existed outside of the official political structure of that day. No such equivalent exists today and if people started fighting and tried to start up a new American Revolution, it would be fragmented and disorganized and labeled as domestic terrorism and it would be treated as such by Federal and local law enforcement as well as the military. Likewise, no single politician will save America. If America is to be saved or restored, it must be done by a full Congress working together for the same goals. If any violent revolution were to occur, it would need to be organized and established nationally if it wanted any chance of success. Otherwise, maybe the government would be toppled but we would only have another French Revolution (and that led to the rise of the bloodthirsty tyrant Napoleon, not liberty) and anarchy.

There is one other thing that is funny, this seems to happen quite often after Time_2 responds and I respond back. I was responding to you and him and it has not shown yet. It may show up by tomorrow, which keeps others from actually seeing it. What would you say to that? I am doing an experiment just to get some clarification on what it is that is happening, but I cannot say what at this time. @Something is Wrong, This is the typical response that I have seen from others, and it shows me that most Americans do not understand our Republic, but think we are in a Democracy which the founders did not like. Ron Paul and his supporters did exactly what is expected in a Republic and it was set up this way to help keep any rich candidate from buying an election. That is what a Republic system is for. A Democracy is majority rules, which is a mob rule effect, 51% of the people telling the other 49% what they can or cannot do.
Our elections were set up so that the candidate that can get a grassroots movement behind them that would fight for that candidate, has the ability to challenge the establishment. If a candidate does not have what it takes to move his supporters to do the groundwork for him/her, how can you say they are the best pick? That is what happened, by all the rules, by Constitutionally sound principles. Romney’s campaign and the RNC are the ones who committed election fraud from the very beginning in Iowa. They violated federal law 42 USC 1971 (b) by sending letters to delegates and forcing them to sign under penalty of perjury if they did not vote the way the RNC demanded. Look up the law and read it.
I understand that you are writing in Obe-Wan Kenobe. No different than what some Paul supporters are doing by writing in Paul. I want to give the Libertarian Party a chance in the future, since the RNC has taken the grassroots voice away. Liberty!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I’ve had a busy day. I know you think I don’t understand that we are a republic or how a republic works but in actuality we are not really a republic. We are also not really a democracy. Democracy, as you stated, is mob rule and does not really work out in the end. A straight republic where the delegates do whatever they feel like doing with no regard for the will of the people is also not right and it is really the same thing that existed in Ancient Rome. What we have in America is a Democratic Republic which is a mixture of the two. Since our representatives are chosen by the people, they are beholden to try to do the will of the people, so long as the people’s will is legal and Constitutional. Otherwise, they would hardly be “representatives” because they would only really be representing themselves and their own interests. In fact, the fact that so many of our current Congressional Representatives and Senators act only in their own self interest and work only their own agendas is largely why Congress’ approval rating is so low and why people don’t trust politicians. The answer to whether or not it is morally “right” for Ron Paul’s campaign to have behaved the way they did is found not in whether it was legal or not (I’ve already conceded that it is technically legal) but in the principle found in the reason why there are delegates in the first place.

Are delegates chosen because they’re smarter than the populous and their judgment is needed to make a decision? Or are they chosen because it is easier and more realistic to have one person representing the will of a specified group of people? Do we not believe that consent to govern is derived from the people? Would that not also imply that all power to govern lies with the people themselves and that those who govern are only using the powers and authority delegated to them by those people? If those principles are true, then does it not also stand to reason that those selected to govern or represent should also seek to do the will of the people who delegated that authority to them? Roman Senators were not selected by the people, they were selected by the Emperor and other political factions and they represented only themselves and their own “wisdom”. We are not Rome. Ron Paul’s delegates thought themselves Romans and decided that their will was more important than the will of the people and so weaseled their way into positions where they could ignore the will of the people and do as they pleased.

      Concluded:
If they had succeeded in nominating Ron Paul and then somehow weaseled their way into the Electoral College and done the same thing (Electors work basically the same way as these delegates do except that electors vote in accordance with the will of the people in their state, not out of obligation but out of honor), Ron Paul would have been a huge failure of a President and would have been hated and rejected by America more than I think you realize or can even imagine. America will be what it chooses to be. You and I might not like what America chooses but we cannot force through what we want or we are no better than those we oppose. In fact, we might be even worse. Unless Ron Paul can win with the popular vote, he cannot lead. Sneaking in only gets you kicked out and that’s basically what happened in Tampa; people got sick of Ron Paul’s people sneaking in and they gave them the boot. They weren’t really threatened by Ron Paul’s people and I’m sure nobody even thought for a second that Ron Paul’s people were going to change the outcome with Mitt Romney as the nominee. I think they just wanted to send a message that you can’t just go stealing elections with no regard and no respect for the people. Like I said, it was low of them to do it and wasn’t the best conceived idea but I understand why they did it and I can’t blame them too much for it.

      Mad,
Sorry, one last thing. I’m really only serious about the Obi-wan thing because I live in California and it really does not matter who I vote for, there is no possible way I am going to sway my state from going for Obama. Otherwise, I would vote for Romney because, of the choices available, he is the best. Not the lesser of two evils, but the best viable choice available. If a third party becomes a viable party and they put up somebody worth my vote at some time in the future, I will gladly vote for them.
If I’m organizing a catering event (I’m a chef) for a group of 100 people and the majority of them want split pea soup or cream of broccoli soup but I can make only one kind of soup for the whole group, the guy screaming for minestrone and who refuses to eat anything else because minestrone is his favorite and he’ll only vote for his favorite is pretty much not going to get his way and he’ll either have to eat the same soup everyone else chooses and be pissed about it or not eat at all and still be pissed about it. Wouldn’t it be smarter for him to just choose which soup he likes more? Like Rush (the band, not the radio host) said, “if you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice”

If Romney loses Ohio you can blame the Jeep ad. It was a transparent attempt to scare voters, caused a lot of resentment in that state and likely motivated union auto workers to get out for Obama. Ohio is the key. Romney has no chance without it. I predict another 2000 result. Romney wins the popular vote but Obama wins the electoral college by 20 or more. In four years the country will still be standing and all of this fear mongering will begin again against Hillary, we’ll all still have our guns and corporations will be more powerful than ever swaying the laws toward their benefit while thrashing the safety net and middle class wages so they can have more billions in their pockets.

I have found exactly the same proplem with my own posts. Isn’t it strange that a website (which is supposed to welcome ALL points of view and conversations) is NOT doing the job it claims!

I know that Glenn likes to quote passed leaders of this country – but when he spoke at the ‘Values Voter Summit’ last year he espoused ‘Malice towards NONE’. However, he failed to quote the whole Lincoln line – “With malice toward none, with charity for all, …let us strive on to finish the work we are in, …to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.
Abraham Lincoln, Second Inaugural Address, Mar. 4, 1865″ 16th president of US (1809 – 1865)”

Unfortunately, the posters on this site pay NO attention to what their leader admonishes them to do.in public speaches about being Christian) – and instead makes statements like these which are an affront to ALL Christians. http://sojo.net/blogs/2010/03/11/glenn-beck-responds-social-justice-perversion-gospel

I’m an Atheist BECAUSE TOO MANY ‘unchristian’ CHRISTIANS have completely forgotten about the Book of Mathew – especially Chapter 5! Mr. Beck seems to forget that Jesus Christ was this world’s VERY FIRST SOCIALIST – and loved everyone equally – regardless of their sins or impairments!

It REALLY is too bad that this website is filled with folks who believe that Jesus DIDN’T MEAN what he preached – and act in exactly the opp

To end the two party system, give another Party automatic ballot access in the next election, give another Party election funds and challenge the RNC and its blatant rule changes to suppress the grassroots candidates in future elections. Many will leave the Republican Party because of this and we will try to make the Republican Party useless in the future. What they did was divide the Republican Party and the price is not yet known, but after this election, and the next election, they will start feeling the pain. I understand that tomorrow, either Romney or Obama will win, but I am trying to give the Libertarian Party a shot at 5% in order to gain automatic ballot access and election funding in 2016. That will mean a win for the Libertarian Party in my eyes and will give them more influence in elections going forward to challenge the status quo since the RNC took away the grassroots ability to be viable in the future. You see, Ron Paul supporters (most all registered Republicans) are not voting for Romney, because of the blatant rules violations and criminal activity perpetrated by his campaign with the RNC. Mad
Aside from a lame attempt at making fun of my name, could you please expand a little on where I am wrong. I explained to you pretty well where I stand & how I see things & why. I would love to hear the same from you if you would be so kind. You know, I really don’t care what organization name dropping you want to do, saying people from Freedomworks are voting with you doesn’t give you any added credibility or lend any added intelligence to your argument. That’s great that you have found some like-minded friends & I hope you all have fun dreaming about how great it would be to eat your minestrone soup but by refusing to choose from either of the two viable options you relinquish your right to complain when you end up having to eat split pea soup. From the majority of your latest reply to me, I have come to the conclusion that really your vote for Gary Johnson is almost completely based in anger & from what you stated were the goals of that vote, it looks to me like you just want revenge for not getting your way in Tampa. Let me tell you something, you will fail; & the biggest reason why is because you are motivated by the wrong things. Acting in anger, hatred, & vengeance is what brought about the French Revolution, October Revolution, Cuban Revolution, & the list could go on & on. The American Revolution, the only one in history that was truly successful, was based on love for their fellow man and the pursuit of liberty for all. Tearing down is not building up.

      WEST COAST
Hey, I knew you couldn’t stay away! I just wanted to say that I love how you, JUSTANGRY, MADASHEII, and the other super supporters for Ron Paul post so many youtube videos to back you up on what you’re saying. Because, I mean youtube is such a credible source for information right? I’m not really trying to tease you here (ok, maybe a little) but seriously, I think people here would maybe take you a little more seriously if you would post more credible sources than youtube to back you up. That, and it might help if you dropped your elitist attitude and stopped insulting people when they try to engage you. For what it’s worth, it’s just my observation. Oh, and just so you know I don’t harbor any ill feelings towards you, I gotta say I love the West Coast. Not real fond of the politics here in Cali but the people, the mountains, the big trees, the beaches… there’s nothing else like it!

and a danger to the Republic.

This little addition by Dick Morris is REALLY good news. We HAVE to take the Senate:

Morris also predicted a huge day for the GOP in the Senate:
“The most likely outcome? Eight GOP takeaways and two giveaways for a net gain of six. A 53-47 Senate, just like we have now, only opposite. Barack Obama’s parting gift to the Democratic Party.”

Of course those so-called “news” sources would report obama ahead in the polls. They are all biased in their reporting AND their polls. When I took statistics in college, my professor said never believe what polls tell you. Rather, look at who is producing the polls and their political agenda. Only then can you really know if the polls are even anywhere near accurate. Without the bias, the poll sources you cited generally poll 7 to 10 times more liberals than conservatives, which tilts their polls. If you take the “liberal lean” out of those polls, Romney leads in them all by a minimum of 4 percentage points. That number is outside the margin of error, and is a more accurate indicator where the race stands. Looks to me like these people who report a “landslide” may be a bit over-zealous, but I believe that Romney will win by a decisive margin nonetheless.

You’ve got to be kidding! Dick Morris is never right about anything. If he predicts a Romney victory, that means Obama can’t lose. Name one thing he’s ever predicted correctly in all his years on the air. This is the guy who wrote a book back in 2007about the upcoming presidential election between Hillary Clinton and Condeleeza Rice. Bill O’Reilly used to bet him a dinner every time he made a stupid prediction on his show, but he finally had to stop taking advantage of the guy or he would have ended up fat and Morris would have gone broke.

Folks, I just came back from driving through Canton and Massillon, Ohio — this is the heart of Ohio’s steel country; or rather what USED to be Ohio’s steel country. It is also big-time union country. This is a solid Dem county.

We drove the main north/south and east/west commercial thoroughfares, and I saw NOT ONE Obama sign. Not one. I am not making this up.

I obviously can’t do it from within the crooked GOP, so I’m advocating Libertarians get 5% of the vote so we can have our own party, same ballot access and funding. You guys don’t want us in your party anyway and I think it’s time for rational and mystic conservatives to part ways.

      @Angry,

Don’t label me in with the crooked GOP, I agree with a lot of things you have to say. But the best way for you, and me, and other Libertarians alike to have a real impact is not to vote for GJ. I’m saying this with complete sincerity. Can’t you see the changes that are happening inside the Republican party? Discard Mitt for just a second and look at some of the people running for Congress. Look at Montana for instance, both Rand AND Ron Paul are endorsing Denny Rehberg over Libertarian candidate Dan Cox. Look at all the top name Libertarians that are coming out in support of Romney too. I know none of this will likely sway you or some of the others on here. But I think now we need to come together more than ever. Don’t you even want the satisfaction of getting Obama, Pelosi, and Reid out of any sort of position where they have the power they do?

I seen the rules changes at the convention to silence folks like me. Missing trucks in Aimes and a lot of other unethical stuff during the primaries. I seen the 2010 Tea Party candidates get to Washington and abandon everything they said they stood for. And I see a bunch of Republican supporters that still think they’re decent people. I wasn’t referring to you as part of the crooked GOP unless you’re an insider and in a leadership role.

@bpodlesnik, I neglected to mention that I do believe there are still good folks within the GOP that want to change the party from the inside. (not many) Rand Paul, Justin Amash and a couple others come to mind. If that’s your intent, I’m fine with it, but it wouldn’t hurt to work both angles. I do think there are people at the top that are shady and will not go quietly.

Don’t forget that social media is a very specialized type of advertising aimed primarily at those under 30, although a lot of us over 30 use Facebook. However, social networking marketers know who they are talking to. I wrote an article recently on the use of the internet in this election’s ad campaigns and Obama’s campaign used social media at 12 times the rate of Romney’s. This would be a real problem for the Romney campaign if he was depending on the college-age vote–but he isn’t. My personal prediction is that the youngsters simply aren’t going to turn out in force this time because Obama lost that impetus from 2008 some time ago. I have a daughter who is 25 and works for a college, and she and her age group are incredibly tepid this time around. The five-to-one advertising margin would be brutal for Romney if the groups being targeted were going to show up at the polls, but my personal feeling is that they will not.

@Antitheist – I suppose you’re like a fish in a fish pond. The fish is oblivious to the whole world outside his pond. Athiest are that way, they can’t see it so therefore it doesn’t exist. Yet there is a whole world around the fish that they are simply unaware of, (i.e. the world we live in). We can enter the fish world, yet the fish can’t enter our world. As a Christian, I agree with that view. Some people (athiest & scientists) just can’t see the bigger picture because they are blinded by their own reality. Christians know there is a whole world unseen by man just outside this one. God can enter our world and does, but we haven’t been allowed to enter his just yet. You may call us all simpletons, but I’d say your own blindness makes you a much more simple minded person than the average Christian. I prefer to call athiest Lucifer’s squid. Fits them quite comfortably. Keep swimming in your spiritless pond, but you should really consider reviewing your stance prior to judgement day for there will be a second death you will not be able to escape. Fish food for thought.

False. Silver’s method requires him to change the weight of polls he selects in order to produce his models. For example, if he feels that democrats are not properly represented in the results due to the latino population, or attempt to compensate for a lack of cell phone based polls. His attempt to change to explain the polls requires GUT FEELING that the numbers don’t reflect what they should.
Silver has admitted that the polls probably contain a systemic problem that over-samples and represents democrats based on 2008 enthusiasm.
“If Romney wins, I’ll receive too much blame. If Obama wins, I’ll receive too much credit” -Nate Silver

His sabermetrics are based on baseball methodology. We don’t play a 7 game series for president, we have one election, and statistics simply can’t quantify all the factors that result in voter turnout.

      Can Obama win? yes
With the 83% chance that silver spouts? Absolutely NOT

Anti what is so wrong with Christians? I assume that you believe that they are oblivious to reality and that they deny mans true greatness etc.. The battles going on in this country right now are a result of mans values not God. The bible that you devote your life to discrediting promotes morality which in turn promotes values that are against violence toward one another and truly without exception that all men our created equally. Atheist or not you cannot contest the fact that man without God is any better than with. If the atheistic belief man is his own god means so much racism, violence, class warfare, judgment, and bloodshed in the name of science or power, I will pass. Have a problem with the people that have distorted Christianity for their own cause, not those that follow Christianity. Many men have distorted religion for bad causes the same as men have for the causes of man but this is not true Christianity and for this reason you should go a little easier on Christians. It is not such a bad idea for a man to feel accountable for his actions whether you believe in a God or not. God may seem like ignorance to you and appear to only appeal to those without any intelligence but I will take that “lack of intelligence” any day over the brutal hatred that you spew on people that love peace and thrive on the hope of a better future. A future not blinded by mans quest to be a god but by the wonderful experience in being humble to a power that is truly more powerfu
