SHOCK: Media Matter’s Eric Boehlert Mocks Mother Of Slain American in Benghazi Terror Attack

Media Matters, the left-leaning media watchdog based in Washington D.C., is prone to employ the controversial and opinionated. Recently one of their senior fellows, MJ Rosenberg, was forced to step down based on a history of harsh, anti-semitic remarks. Now it appears the line has been crossed again.

Senior Media Maters Fellow Eric Boehlert has seemingly mocked Patricia Smith, the mother of slain State Department employee Sean Patrick Smith, who recently blamed President Barack Obama for her son’s death.

“Until I find out anything, Obama killed my son, my only child, the one who was going to take care of me when I’m old,” Patricia Smith said on CNN this week.

Boehlert took to Twitter to comment on Smith and her sorrow at losing her only son, writing this Saturday afternoon:

The tweet seems to imply that Mrs. Smith has been getting her information from Fox News, one of Media Matters’ favorite targets, and that her conclusion is therefore invalid.

Fox News, along with TheBlaze, have broken a substantial number of stories on the Benghazi cover-up and consequential failures of the administration that cost four Americans their lives.

Others on Twitter also took to mocking Smith’s loss, following Boehert’s lead. Some referred to the grieving Smith as “stupid” and a “poor pathetic uninformed person.”

The tweet has since been deleted from Boehlert’s profile without a retraction or apology message.

If Media Matters has a problem with Fox News’ reporting then why don’t they do some of their OWN investigative reporting!!! But noooo! They are completely ignoring the issue of the Benghazi attack. They are hoping they can ignore it until after the election, or they are hoping that people will forget about it all. Well, the mothers and family members of these 4 men will NEVER forget about it! Fox News and the rest of us won’t forget about it either!

  Mothers of future soldiers are none too happy either and as I am one, I can tell you this, my daughter will be permanently delayed in going into the military if we don’t get answers soon. If Obama, by some freak of nature or force of the machine, wins on Tuesday I will throw all the influence I have into keeping my daughter from going to basic training in January. This whole Benghazi thing blows my mind. There are a myriad of possibilities as to what happened and why. And why Obama is so tight-lipped. It just seems implausible that so many of our top leaders did absolutely nothing. I do not buy that there wasn’t enough time and there was nothing that could be done. It is almost as if they wanted the Ambassador dead or something. And that no major news organization is reporting on it astounds me. How this is being swept under the rug not only disgusts me, but makes me even more terribly sad over my country. I think the damage is done. I do not know if even Romney could pull this nation together. We have been professionally and purposefully divided and Obama should go to jail! Not for being incompetent, but for trying to destroy this country.

  Losing viewers hasn’t affected network news. They blame loss of viewership on one of the hosts. How about we don’t like your propaganda! This is America and we should be able to turn on our news and hear what is really happening! With Sandy, Benghazi, Fast & Furious, Solyndra or Acorn, they cover up, don’t report or lie. There might be one way we can turn them into true honest journalists. If we don’t watch ANYTHING on their networks, they will lose advertising, therefore they will lose money and that is the only thing they understand. Sadly, I think they believe what they say. Truth is not a variable. Either BO acted or he didn’t. It is obvious that he didn’t. I knew it the minute I heard about the attacks. I just didn’t know details. So, who is pathetic here? Obviously both Mrs. Smith and EB. Mrs. Smith has hope though. Grief has a way of taking care of itself and her fears for her future will find resolution somehow. EB, though, has bet his life on lies that are destructive to himself and others. There is a very small chance that he will wake up to truth. If he does, he will have a whole lot of repenting to do.

  I also figured it out pretty quickly. Ever since the details came out about the killing of Osama bin laden, I knew our military was in horrible danger. Seriously, if Obama was anything other than 100% sure about that operation, what does that say about his decision-making skills of lesser priority operations? As the commander in chief, you are often not given days to ponder- you must act. Lives are at stake. The Benghazi tragedy is an unfortunate example.
