Shock: New York Daily News Endorses Romney After Picking Obama 4 Years Ago

Shock: New York Daily News Endorses Romney After Picking Obama 4 Years AgoThe New York Daily News endorsed Mitt Romney on Saturday, a major switch for the metropolitan paper that backed President Barack Obama four years ago:

Four years ago, the Daily News endorsed Obama, seeing a historic figure whose intelligence, political skills and empathy with common folk positioned him to build on the small practical experience he would bring to the world’s toughest job. We valued Obama’s pledge to govern with bold pragmatism and bipartisanship.

The hopes of those days went unfulfilled.

[...]The trend over the Obama years: Goodbye to middle- and high-income jobs in New York City; hello to positions that pay less than $45,000 a year.

Recovery from the disaster that Obama inherited was going to take time. But four years is a long, long slog. Had the President guided a typical upswing, America would by now have regained essentially all its lost jobs. At his present pace, Obama would reach that milestone in the third year of a second term.

The regrettable truth is that Obama built a record of miscalculations and missed opportunities.

[...]

Romney’s approach is the stronger.

Critically, he has tailored his policies to create jobs, jobs, jobs.

[...]

No, Romney’s not perfect. His overall immigration policy falls below comprehensive reform, and he’s no friend of gun control. But, under these circumstances, growing the economy takes precedence.

Offering a rosy vision of a country already on the rise, Obama argues that he would lead a resurgence by staying the course. He posits that spending in areas such as education and clean energy would be beneficial, and he sees raising taxes on high-income earners as key to “balanced” deficit reduction. Each on its own is attractive, but the whole comes up short.

The presidential imperative of the times is to energize the economy and get deficits under control to empower the working and middle classes to again enjoy the fruits of an ascendant America.

So The News is compelled to stand with Romney.

The Daily News is one of the largest newspapers in the country, and the third-largest in New York behind the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

I’v noticed that a bunch of papers and magazines have finally woke up. Four more years of Obama will destroy our currency and when we go to a barter system the folks won’t be swapping food or ammo for a paper or a magazine. Under a real socialist system everyone works for the state and what they do print comes from some little state twerp that hands a paper to them and then orders them to print it. Even Woppie will finally see the light when the state tells her what to say and when to say it. Of course the state will keep the name “The View.”

This isn’t a shocker. More and more radicals are gonna say their for Romney. Many businesses, trying to drum up support, and try to pull the wool over our eyes, will try and pull every stunt they can to make us forget who they really are.
We can’t allow ourselves to be bought with their lies and double talk. If they want to ‘invest’ in Romney, so be it, but right now Progressives, on BOTH sides, are gonna play this game. Another reason for term limits in our political and judicial positions.
Once Romney does win, watch the radical go into hibernation status, in who they really are. We can’t go to sleep, as a Constitutional Republic, after the election. It will be time for accountability and restitution to take place.

As a New Yorker–until just recently I lived on Long Island and worked in NYC–this is shocking. The Daily News is very liberal democrat – just as much as the NY Times but in a more tabloid/working-class way. For them to endorse Romney is amazing. (The NY Post is the Republican/Conservative rag in NYC.)

Even New Yorkers who rely on the Government for their own best interest are going to have to come to grips with the reality that if the government is poor because of its leaders, all of its promises will be broken and the poor will be the first to know. The Government can’t handout what it hasn’t got.

The judgement of President Barack Hussien Obama will unfold by ‘the rule of law’ as soon as we can ship him off to his new mansion in Hawiis’ new communist district. House arrest for the ‘alleged traitor Obama’ will be as strong as a coward like Senate leader Mitch McConell will beg fore as the truth is known. The voting age needs to be increased to 21 years with military exclusion of 18 year old so the foggy eyed pissy pants college morons cannot elect an anti American Global Colonist again. But of course, many news-papers are attempting reverse psychology in order to sponge off people’s motivation to make sure they don’t show up to vote, because “Hey, we got the news-papers now.” Does it make sense that they would support Romney when Romney publicly said he would cut-off funding to PBS? Which means he probably won’t bailout news-papers either.

In layman’s terms this is commonly called a MUTINY:

500 Admirals, Generals to Endorse Romney
      http://freebeacon.com/post/34912944618/500-admirals-generals-to-endorse-romney
The spokesman added that 389 of the individuals on the list are on the Romney Military Advisory Council, too.

Barack Obama can not defeat Mitt Reagan
      http://www.votemittreagan.com/
It really is like 1980 all over again. The skewed media polls in October of 1980 made it look like Jimmy Carter was running strong against Ronald Reagan who was about to crush Carter in a landslide. But this year is different. Barack Obama is by far the worst president in the history of the country. Obama is the only president in our life times who has actually thwarted, via his economically ignorant policies, what could have been a robust recovery.

We also have a president who is entirely clueless, totally out of touch and is so ideologically bigoted that he couldn’t care less what affects his failed far left policies have on families and small businesses. This president has absolutely no sympathy or empathy for the victims of the economic destruction he has caused. In that he borders on showing symptoms of being a sociopath.

Pay VERY CLOSE ATTENTION to that last sentence.
