‘This Is…Silliness’: Christie’s Heated Response to Fox News Reporter About Obama Praise
Fox News reporter Rick Levanthal prompted a heated reaction from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie during a press conference on Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts. He asked the governor about criticism he’s drawn by some in the Republican Party over his tour with President Obama of damaged areas and praise of the president’s commitment to helping the state recover.
Levanthal said to Gov. Christie, “While people understand your commitment to the people of New Jersey and the need to get them help, some have questioned where you are now with your endorsement of Mitt Romney.”
Gov. Christie fired back, “This is the kind of silliness that, that really drives me crazy….

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 8:00amActually, I think it is quite smart how CC answered, even though the Fox got the blow back, Fox gave him the opportunity to set down the rumors, emphatically. So the ‘media’ have no grounds to ‘speculate’ as to what CC thanking BHO ‘really means’ garbage.

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 9:11amTiming is EVERYTHING. I also think Christie cut his own throat if he has any hopes of running for President in the future. What conservative voter would vote for this guy in the primaries if Romney loses this election? My prediction is that he will jump the fence and go over to the other side, and in my opinion, they can have the RINO.

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 3:55pmWilma, it is one thing to thank Obama for whatever Christie says he did for NJ – which is mostly talk so far and a photo op. for Obama with a popular Republican like Christie before jetting off to Las Vegas yet again. It’s another thing to be as emotionally effusive as Christie was in praising a President who has shucked and jived through his presidency, blamed everyone else for the mess he has created but himself, and has viciously attacked his political opponents. Also, he hasn’t helped or even shown up after many disasters across the country. For example floods in the upper mid-west – where Americans cling to their guns and religion as he said they do in Pennsylvania – and fires in the west, not to mention his exploitation of the BP oil spill as Gov. Bobby Jindal has eloquently described. In the meantime Obama has falsely and viciously demonized Bush for the federal response to Katrina which was PRIMARILY a failure by the New Orleans Levy Commission who were investing in casinos and not the maintenance of the levees, Democrat Mayor Ray Nagin who refused to use school buses to evacuate the city and a Democrat Governor Kathleen Blanco, who delayed sending in the National Guard and was so embarrassed that she did not run for re-election.
You have to consider the totality of what this administration has done and not done so that cutting him some slack is placed in proper context.
Thanks, of course. Effusive praise, for doing his job? NO!

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 1:36amGov christie was dead to me from the moment he made his remarks about global warming and coal fired plants; he is an ass. He gets carried away with himself and here is another example and proof of why he will never go anywhere in politics, he is crude and provocative. He made an ass of himself again maybe he was tired but he has went as far as he will ever go now. I also want to say when he went on his most recent rant about the election, I think it was in part because he wasn’t selected as the running mate, yeah I said it I think it was sour grapes. Well he is dead to me he tried to betray Romney and I will never vote for him for anything he is what he looks and sounds like a crude little pig.

He’s a showman and full of himself. I hope he does well by NJ. He is 100% better than the crook Corzine. He’s a big man with a big job and an outlandish style. All I have seen is liberals claiming that this happened. They cite Rush’s statements on this subject, but blatantly miss his point — that Obama was treating Christie arrogantly.

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 4:26amGov. Christie and a lot of the leadership up the east coast have behaved like sissies, in my view.
We get walloped by hurricanes and tornados every year. Nine times we’ve been smacked. Presidents come and pass over us to pull photo-ops in communities of color – despite the fact that they are hit much less severely. It’s just their politics. Fine, we like it that way, where the Gov. leaves us alone.
We work through it all, file our insurance claims, eat the inevitable loss, and we rebuild – beginning the day of the storm. We prepare. We have food, water, fuel, tools and we bend our backs, work like rented mules and then we bend our knees to offer prayers of thanks for our many blessings.
As bad as it is, these guys up north have no idea of how bad it can be. They ALL should have prepared to take care of themselves and their neighbors.

Posted on November 4, 2012 at 11:14pmActuallly, that was a very good answer.. we honestly do need to give credit where credit is due and not be afraid to work with the other side. That IS what is wrong with the system. On the other hand.. has Obama really done such a wonderful job with the Sandy relief…. not so much from what I have seen but truth be told… FEMA is NOT a relief agency… they are more a recovery agency… thus all the people with clip boards. They are management… not the down to work types.

here. ANY Gov’ner of a decimated state HAS to be nice
to any president controlling the purse strings. Also,
Christie has been pro-Romney from the get-go.
Christie is someone I was glad to see on our side

Your post, on the other hand, is one of the ugliest pieces of dross ever to grace these comment pages. Christie could hardly have made himself any clearer as he graciously answered the reporter’s question. He did his job as Governor of New Jersey by seeking federal aid in the face of a major natural disaster, and it is now up to the President to deliver on his promises. Joe Biden has neither the inclination, the intellect, nor the executive experience to display the kind of gravitas Chris Christie did.

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 12:30am1. Christie didn’t have to “throw Obama a lifeline” days before the election order to get federal aid, but he did, and Obama got a bounce.
2. It has recently been revealed that Christie was rude to Romney several times and so lost his spot in the ticket, and that obviously pissed him off. It seems his size is commensurate to his ego.
3. Christie is a loose canon, just like Biden was at his age. If he’s still in politics in 20 years, he’ll be drooling on himself, just like crazy uncle Joe.
The last thing this country needs is another loose canon with power.

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 1:57pmAdvection: Christie may be a loose cannon. For that, he will end up marginalized like Newt if he runs for President. I know something about this, being somewhat of an iconoclast myself. The last President who was of that ilk was Harry Truman, and he’d never get elected today. Christie actually bolstered his status as Governor of NJ, and the delays getting relief to those hard hit by Sandy will only make Obama look more ineffective. No one seems to recall that the Governor of Louisiana rebuffed Bush’s offer to federalize the National Guard to provide assistance after Katrina. They will remember broken promises Obama doesn’t come through soon. NJ will go for Obama, but the margin may be a lot slimmer than expected.
