So, what’s a few more?

From Ike To Obama 60 Years of political campaign ads

Image: YouTube screen capture

This clever compilation of Presidential campaign ads from “Ike to Obama” was created by a gentleman named Hugh Atkin, and it’s worth a look.

Akin’s YouTube post describes the collection this way:

A supercut of US Presidential election ads from the 1952 Eisenhower campaign to the 2012 Obama campaign. Find out what’s changed and what’s remained the same over the past 60 years.

If Atkin’s name sounds familiar, he is also responsible for a YouTube video featuring President Obama’s “You didn’t build that” statement cleverly woven into a parody of MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This.”

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

I had forgotten how much Dukakis irritated me and how much I liked Barry Goldwater.

you know what I am tired of? Barrassed Huckster Obloomers yelling at me during every new break. I have more than had it with this putz bellowing that I suck, am racist, am stupid, am violent, am wrong….

    screw him.
Please vote this POS out, or I guess I will be dumping all my media reception boxes… I cannot listen to the propaganda any longer, I cannot listen to obloomers snake voice any longer. I hit that wall in 2009. Last 4 years have been torture – I have not broken yet…… but I do not think I will last another 4.

So dump bloomers, or media goes for me.

These videos are great! Goes to show you that everything old is new again in the world of political advertising. The danger here is that over time no one believes that the outcome of the election really matters.

The outcome of this election will lead to two very different Americas. I live in South Florida and the news media acts as if every hurricane season is going to be the worst of ALL TIME. Seasons come and seasons go, life goes on and eventually we numb to the message that the media is selling. Then a Hurricane Andrew, a Hurricane Katrina or a Hurricane Sandy COMPLETELY changes your life. This election’s outcome has the potential to change our lives FOREVER. We must not numb to the reality. We must vote ourselves and we have a responsibility to inform friends and neighbors that are not already Zombies.

If he was trying to drown out the sound in the clip with that loud ding ding ding, he did a wonderful job

The guy’s name is Atkin, not Akin — it’s right there at the end of the video. Somebody obviously has the Missouri Senate race on the brain.

I’ve been alive for all of those sixty years. Of course I was too young to vote for almost two decades of them. Today, I’ve come to the point where I realize that re-electing Barack Obama would be a disaster for America. America needs a real Leader who knows that Islam is an enemy of the USA. Get ALL of the Muslims out of this Country, now! They are undesirables,

I don’t agree that they are all undesirables. Limiting or ending immigration from Muslim nations would be a good idea though. Democrats have skewed immigration policy over the last several decades in an attempt to destroy the American culture as we know it. It may be a time to put a temporary moratorium on immigration until our economic security is re-established.

I remember those commercials from the way back machine. The black and white tv’s in those days were very grainie. It made no difference who the candidate was, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Nixon, or Johnson, we all sat around the tv and listened to our parents talk about how amaizing it was to watch. It was almost like a new day dawning. Eisenhower won the war and Kennedy was going to lose d/t the fact he was Catholic and Goldwater would use the bomb. The ads weren’t as nasty as they are today but were still deceptive in their own way.
