Sick Vid: ‘Big Bird’ Punches ‘Romney’ in Face…During School Performance

Ever since Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said he would cut funding to PBS and Sesame Street if elected, the left has championed Big Bird as a way to verbally attack him. Now, video uploaded to YouTube by the Texas Sports Center takes it a step further, showing Mitt Romney being punched in the face by the iconic character during a school halftime performance.

According to the Texas Sports Center, the the Beaumont Central High School marching band decided to have a political “dance-off” instead of a more traditional show, and the director began by asking whether everyone is going to vote on Tuesday.

After “Obama,” identified as the athletic youth in the white shirt, dances and does a back flip, the beloved Sesame Street character taps a young man wearing a Mitt Romney mask on the shoulder.

“Wait a minute, I got somebody for you, Mr. Romney!” the announcer calls. “Mr. Big Bird is in the house! Big Bird!”

“Romney” then moves out of the screen while Big Bird does a brief dance, but when he comes back Big Bird decks him in the jaw, sending him straight to the ground.

Though the political bias is pretty clear based on the captured video, the Texas Sports Center adds that Romney also did a dance of his own.

“Tasteless inappropriate influence of and use of high school students,” one commenter concluded, while another said it was “beyond the bounds of decent taste.”

But the Texas Sports Center asks: “Was this halftime show political or silly?”

It’s culturally insensitive to say “Big Bird is in the house” ;) It excludes people who live in apartments and makes them feel like second class citizens.

  I hate racism..When will we EVER comprehend how ignorant and dangerous racism is?? Everyday we see examples of it from liberals & democrats, while they simultaneously accuse Republicans of the same.
  That said, how will we ever get this country moving in the right direction if REPUBLICANS & CONSERVATIVES do the very same thing??   I love living in a country where we have freedom of speech and expression. However seeing this from my home town, sickens me. The teachers should never have let this happen, and honestly they should be suspended just like the students should be. Violence is not the answer, never has been against hatred and ignorance.   The video was carefully edited so you cannot see the race or skin color of the participants. The two actors are wear gloves. Can we find out if its a black school. Lets watch how they react on Wednesday after Obama looses. Since the US Secret Service can not be trusted to guard Romney, he should ask for the Vatican to provide body guards.

  Sadly the only response from BISD has been ” A press release from the school states that the performance was not in support of any candidate and was to raise awareness of voting.” According to the local paper (Beaumont Enterprise). honestly it saddens me, but does not surprise me from BISD things have been messed up there for years.

  81% black 15% Hispanic 3% white as of 2010 . Isnt crazy that many kids could be taught such ignorance by a handful of idiot teachers. Sad sad future for the kids. Kinda like the little 9 year old who told the reporter that if Romney wins “we will be back in the crop fields” and his ignorant dad just chuckled and was so proud. Just a question….Does this High School and or local school system receive any federal money? Isn’t there a conflict of interest if they do? I don’t know the law, but it seems that if the school is acting as a political interest group there should be some repercussions….just sayin’

  The superintendant from this school district is the highest paid in the state of Texas. His name is Carrol Thomas. He has a wonderful stadium built in his name, while he’s still on the job. BISD is corrupt and racist. I know, I live here in Beaumont. My kid went to that school ONE day. I had him pulled out immediately. When you see the interior of the school, you know something is amiss. It’s an African motif everywhere. Animal skin prints, Obama calendars and faculty wearing “traditional” African garb. This school used to be a good school… Now its just another school with a really long meaningless name, doing their part to dumb down our children.

As a Texan I am ashamed of this. As an American I am starting to hate that silly bird. PBS is so low on my list of concerns that they are non existent but this seems to be very important to the liberal, gimmee crowd that idolizes the Democrat ideology.

This wasn’t half time fun and games. This was a political statement by the band director and the school authorities. They should all be fired.

And by the way………if someone had decked the Obama character would that school be a burned out shell today?.

I wonder how many people walked out. I’m not very familiar with Beaumont, but if this happened at our local highschool, the parents would loudly object. Obama is about as popular as the chicken pox here.
