Appearing on MSNBC Monday, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz argued that there is a “systematic effort to stop people from voting” by Republicans in her state of Florida and across the country. Schultz was responding to the early voting situation in Florida, where long lines and other issues have caused tension at polling places. Democrats, who like Schultz believe voter suppression is to blame, have sued to extend Florida’s early voting period.
TheBlaze previously reported on the chaotic “election meltdown” in Florida over the weekend.
Calling it an “unconscionable” act, Schultz said the GOP can’t run on the issues so they have resorted to suppressing votes in an attempt to steal the presidential election.
“The proof is in the pudding, in states across the country in early vote, in absentee ballots cast,” she said. “In early voting, we have just been running circles around [Republicans] because of our ground game.”
