WhoDat? Meet the Saints Cornerback Who’s Been Campaigning for Romney in the Locker Room

An NFL football team’s locker room might be the last place you would expect political discussions, but the New Orleans Saints’s practice cornerback is making it a talking point.
According to Baton Rouge’s The Advocate, cornerback Nick Hixson — who is described as “the leader of Team Romney for the Black & Gold” — is known among the team to have the most political knowledge.
“I don’t understand some of these guys,” Hixson, #30, said to The Advocate. “I thought there would be more conservatives in here.
“Some of them are pretty hardheaded, but then I can be too. We’re having a lot of good fun and educating ourselves about things though.”
The Advocate goes on to report safety Roman Harper saying that the election seems to be making its way into locker room chatter more this year than in the past.
Hixson, who was picked up as a member of the practice squad after graduating from the notoriously conservative Hillsdale College in Michigan, said he “[tries] try to base my arguments on economic philosophy and personal philosophies about the role of government.”
“That’s what this country was founded on,” the 23-year-old continued.
Who is the “Team Obama” leader then? The Advocate reports defensive end Will Smith has been filling the slot since linebacker Scott Fujita left the post in 2009 when he joined the Cleveland Browns. Here’s what teammates had to say about Smith’s perspective:
“Scott had his facts right and made strong cases,” linebacker Scott Shanle said. “Will just throws out stuff all the time.
“He’ll say things like, ‘When Obama took over there was like 35 percent unemployment.’ and I’ll say ‘What?’ Then there are a lot of guys who don’t care.”
What’s Hixson’s call for Tuesday night? Let’s just say he thinks the Saints have a better chance of winning Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles than his preferred candidate has at getting into the White House.
Read more about Hixson and the Saints team perspectives in The Advocate’s article here.

Posted on November 6, 2012 at 4:21amSeriously. Why are we giving our money to these worthless players? It’s obvious that 90% will vote Obama. They’ve made tons of money from us and don’t give a damn about the rest of struggling Americans. I say boycott football basketball and whatever sport that has Obama supporters. If Obama wins most of us will not be able to afford going to games. And I don’t think we should let them make money through advertising from our viewership. I’m done giving my money to people that trash America and haven’t a clue how the rest of us live. They’re spoiled rich because of us. I say lets bring them back down to where we are.

Posted on November 6, 2012 at 1:14amDO NOT TAKE PICTURES OR CALL A NATIONAL HOTLINE ABOUT VOTING AT THE POLLS. You might get arrested and your vote may be thrown out. If you have a problem at the polls with a machine or see something suspicious, YOU ALERT THE ELECTION JUDGE AND OFFICIALS AT YOUR POLLING LOCATION!!!
Your state runs the polls, not the feds or a federal hotline. There is false information out there trying to cause a voting crisis at every polling station. Photographing anything at a polling location is AGAINST THE LAW. Using wireless devicies at the polls IS AGAINST THE LAW.
Do NOT encourage people to break the law at their polling location, and do not call some national hotline to give your information to faceless 800 number with a lawyer ready to pounce to hold up the election at your location. You have no idea what that 800 number links to.
Do not usurp your state rights and keep things within the law. You know occupiers are going to cause as much crisis as they can. Do not help them.

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 3:13pmHonestly, in another ten years, when it is really explained what Democrats have done to the United States of America, and people realized they gave the benefit of the doubt to a bunch of people who gave priority to elections and chaos rather than ethics and US Constitutional values, there are going to be a lot more conversations in locker rooms that will not be about politics, because we learned our lesson about what happens when we take the political system for granted, that it does not run on auto pilot?
No more head injuries colliding with Democrats and their “failed” policies, not even wearing a helmet of ignorance can protect you from the life long disability of those injuries?

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 3:35pmSo you really don’t recognize what 8 years of Bush did to the economy and our standing in the world. Let me remind you that Reagan was unable to turn around a recession 1/4 th as bad as the BUSH recession in four years. You present yourself as a Belief Entitled individual. That is someone who believes what they believe despite the facts, scientific findings and rational analysis. Just tell me your not one of those folks who really thinks the world is only 10,000 years old. Because they are part of your Belief Entitled group.

Hahahahaha!
Still trying to spin the opposite of reality, eh, El Twinko?
My love for the country makes me pull for a Romney win, but my hatred of what it is becoming makes me wish for an Obama win, because I want to see this deteriorating empire explode into civil war after an economic depression that will certainly befall this nation if the American-hating, white-hating community organizer is re-elected. It will allow millions of us to purge this country of many divisive elements.
And make no mistake about it. When the SHTF, there will be a knock on your door.

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 5:47pmI held my nose and voted for Romney. I am in the camp that believes too that whoever is the next POTUS will have a nearly impossible task of trying to get us out of the quickly collapsing fiscal mess we are in.
If Obama wins, my solace is that he will guarantee social and economic collapse. He and the Democrats will be holding the bag and receive most of the blame. After much pain, maybe things can be rebuilt. I don’t know.
This republic is indeed very ill. Life is close to dramatically changing. Those who are clued in are in the midst of preparing. Cities will explode. The military will be overwhelmed along with civil authorities. Not good, but it is what has been wrought by decades of excess, hedonism and a rejection of God.

I know it sounds bizarre but a complete collapse of our country would probably create an America closer to what what we started out as than what we have become.

It doesn’t sound bizarre, it sounds accurate. Many experts are saying we’ve deteriorated so badly the only way we could ever win is if we implode economically and have the matter settled among the populace.

I agree completely with what u said. Conservatives like to choose facts and only always like to deflect blame. Obama was not a perfect president by any means, but he did a damn better job than GWB

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 3:39pmSo I guess this guy is someone who thinks the Saints bounty hunting was just good capitalism. Don’t even see how the average person would consider someone (in this case Romney) who keeps their money in the Cayman Islands and Switzerland as being a citizen. But Romney seems to lie rather well considering how many people here don’t seem to mind his lies about Welfare to Work, Medicare benefit cuts, Jeep jobs to China. But I guess there is honor among liars.

Why is it that no Democrat has a problem with Kennedy’s keeping off shore accounts? Or the Democratic chairman of the Committee of Ways and Means (responsible for writing the tax code) claiming ignorance of the tax code as an excuse for not paying his taxes? For that matter how many people working for the Obama administration had “tax issues”? 30? And then there was John Kerry registering his boat in a different state so he didn’t have to pay taxes. Or how about Nancy Pelosi realizing the a bill would raise her taxes and thus changed the minimum so she would be excluded. There’s Harry Reid stating he is “on a fixed income” at the same time he is voting himself a raise. Wasn’t 1%er Michelle Obama’s job at the hospital in Chicago to get those who were uninsured to other hospitals? But she’s not an evil capitalist? Maybe because she wasn’t a 1%er until her senator husband secured federal funds. Why are you not demanding that Obama give back the millions of dollars he took in campaign contributions from wall street? Those fat cat bankers gave more to him than any other candidate in history. This is probably not at all related to the toothless Dodd-Frank bill and the creation of “Too big to fail”.
Sorry back to where I started. The more the govt tries to take, the more people will try to get around the rules. Those who make the rules will always ensure the rules do not apply to them. It is human nature. If you think your guy doesn’t do that, you’re a f

Yeah, that seems to be a common theme among Obama supporters. They just throw stuff out there and hope it sticks.

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 1:53pmInformed voters are Obama’s worst fear!
“A nation can survive its’ fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the galleys, heard in the very hall of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor – He speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their garment, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation – he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city – he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared.” — Cicero, 42 B.C., Roman Statesman, orator, and author.
