Beauty Guru Brie Lybrand Makes YouTube Video to Her Rapist Father

Brie Lybrand, a self-described “beauty guru” from New Orleans, released a shocking video titled “A Message To My Rapist” after her father subscribed to her popular YouTube channel.

Completely different than her past videos, which have had names like, “Sephora October Shopping Haul!” or “New Job Clothing Haul!” the clip has roughly 90,000 views since being released about a week ago.

Completely make-up free and with a shaky voice, Lybrand says this is a “different” kind of video than what she normally makes.

Trying to control her voice, Lybrand explains:

“I just got an email from You Tube saying the man that raped me for most of my life subscribed to me. The man that took my virginity, robbed me of innocence, has subscribed to me on You Tube and is watching my videos.”

Starting to cry, she continues:

“I never got to testify in court against this man, and I never got to say what it’s like, what it feels like, being tied up and chained and tortured for hours when you’re four years old by your father. My father Steven Bressler molested, tortured, and raped me from the time I was four until I was thirteen years old.

“He tried to kill my mother in front of me many times. One night she laid over my body so he couldn’t and he beat her teeth in, took them all out of her mouth, and I watched my mother in a pool of her own blood. And then he came after me.”

Saying that she got her father out of her life when she was thirteen, Lybrand rhetorically asks if he wants to know what her life has been like since, why he is subscribing to her videos?

She says most people who had such a horrifying past don’t turn out like she did, that she was cheerleading captain in high school and had a “good boyfriend.” Ironically, she says, her father was the one who got her into acting so that she could escape the reality of what he did to her.

Lybrand then proceeds to say she has three guns– one that she keeps by her bed, one that she keeps in her purse, and a pink revolver for good measure– in case her father ever comes after her again.

She then opens the revolver and shows that it’s loaded, concluding, “because you’re never going to touch me again.” Lybrand also says her father re-married, saying the woman’s name, before wondering what kind of person the new wife is.

Lybrand adds defiantly that she has grown up to be a “great woman” who teaches kids, wanting to give them a better world than she ever had at that age.

Gawker notes that some have questioned the veracity of the video, noting that Lybrand has a background in acting and that it’s strange that she went to YouTube instead of the police. Moreover, in one of her previous videos, Lybrand mentions visiting her family.

However, it’s possible that at age 13 Lybrand didn’t have the wherewithal to go to the police, and just wanted to move on. Regarding her family, Lybrand mentions in “A Message to My Rapist” that she still has a good relationship with her mother, brother, and grandparents , and it’s possible she could have been visiting them.

  @ BODYBAG…do you or any know why this guy hasn’t been or isn’t being arrested now? Didn’t the mother file abuse charges, could she still? IF this is NOT true, this person is very mentally ill. If it is true this guy should not be walking! This is another disaster ready to happen. I will never understand

  Why would she make this video? Why is this guy not in jail? Well the answers to that are all in the story. It says she was never allowed to testify in court against him. It does NOT say what the verdict was. So he could have been convicted, served his sentence and is out. He could have also been acquitted. It doesn’t say. Now think about this. This woman suffered unfathomable abuse and trauma both physically and mentally at his hands. we cannot imagine the pain, the scarring and the anger that was produced inside of her. She was never allowed to testify in court. She was never allowed to tell her story. She was never allowed to confront her attacker. There was no closure for her in this area. The trial ended, she escaped, she moved on and built a new life, BUT all of that baggage, pain, anger and scars went with her and still live with her today and tomorrow. NOW this person that caused all of this pops back up in her life. Why didn’t she go to the cops??? Is she mentally ill? NO WAY! She is finally able to confront her attacker who is trying to force himself back into her life. She is finally getting the chance to tell her story. She is finally telling her attacker “you will never touch me again”. She is not mentally ill. She is doing what any person who has been terribly wounded wants to do, confront the source and tell that source it is not okay, and they will never be a victim again.

  It’s not her fault but this chick is very mentally disturbed because of what environment she was raised in. I’ve dated chicks like this and there is really no cure for them. It’s like a horse with a broken leg…you want them to live a happy and fulfilling life but you know very well that she’s scarred for life.
  
  I only glanced at her handguns
  - 1st one looked like a Taurus .380
  - 2nd looked like the subcompact Beretta .22 (notorious for jamming)
  - 3rd looked like a .38 but I couldn’t tell if it was S&W.

  I don’t know what to make of this. I don’t don’t it happens. I just don’t know how often. If her mother is missing most of her teeth I would expect her father to be in prison for life. For the severe wife beating & the child abuse. I don’t see how he is out of prison, but then I am pro death penalty et al.
  
  Nuclear families are great, but everyone should be part of a large extended family that cares enough to go the final mile.

  Brie, if you want to be able to defend yourself when you see him again (and you will see him again), trade those peashooters in, and get yourself a Glock 26, or a S&W Shield. Don’t go lower than 9mm. I know you’re tiny, so those are small too, but better to get used to the recoil and know how to use it than trust that little .22lr Beretta jamomatic and not work when you need it.

  If you’ve ever been through a severely abusive parent, it forever changes you. I wouldn’t say she’s like a horse with a broken leg though. That all depends on the person. Men are just as affected.
  
  You can’t go back, and it worms it’s way in your mind. However, unlike a broken leg, you can use external and internal devices to block, and eventually put a handle on those memories and the horror they induce. It often takes time, but it seems like she had people at her back, through her boyfriend and friend networks, as well as obviously her brother, to stabalize. The only way this really works is complete separation from the person or persons. Direct confrontation never works, and even indirect confrontation like what she’s going through floods everything back. I’m just glad she has a man to lean back on and move through it. When you’re a guy you have to eat it and find something to fill that void quickly or it’s overpowering.
  
  No Patrick, this is very real and raw emotion. Very real. My heart goes out to her, but I’m also happy to know someone else has been through such horror and managed to survive almost intact.
  
  I hope she never has to use her guns, not because her father wouldn’t deserve death, but for how it will affect her. Maybe her courage and willingness to use the gun might deter that…I can only hope for her sake, but to my experience that confrontation never works as you think it will.

  Bravo babygirl!!! I know your pain & I do the same!! For anybody doubting her story, & I’ve never even heard of her before today, ..I, personally believe her!! There IS still a “statute of limitation on rape victims/survivors that most of the time is around 15 yrs or lessssss!!!

  It was tough to watch. It grieves me to think that someone would do such an awful thing. This is why we should institute the Death Penalty for Child Molesters. I am sure that anyone that sick, has sick things that happened to them. Too bad, we MUST STOP the cycle of abuse. A firing squad would do the job. The whole Megan’s Law thing is baloney and an expensive waste of resources. If one is found guilty one should NEVER go free, and if proven beyond any reasonable doubt should be executed within 30 days. I am not talking about the 18 yr old guy and 17yr old girl, but the likes of Sandusky.
  
  Many of the horrid cases like Megan Kanka who’s name was used for the Megan’s law, was a 7 yr old that was raped and killed by Jesse K. Timmendequas who had TWO previous CONVICTIONS and only served 6 years, before coming out and raping and killing Megan Kanka… Had he been shot

  This looks exactly like a bare monolouge video that all no-name “Actresses and Actors” have to have along with Headshots and other industry materials for casting directors to see them in the raw. No one would ever post a potentially incriminating video online detailing some ambiguous encounter with a raping father that somehow got away with these horrendous crimes that went unpunished. One has to ask a few questions. First being; Why spend all this time trying to prepare for a potential attack when you can use that energy to prosecute. Second; Why do you look like you have never held a gun before? She appears to have trouble even getting it out of the case. Besides the first gun was a .22 LR. What person packs that as a primary defense weapon? Totally fake video. I do hope that it gets her some work though so she can move to Hollywood vote Obama and become extremely educated on everything and have a Point of View that people should listen to…

  was likely scared $h*tless of the guy [typical], she was only 4 so no one would believe her, a

  She has some impressive heat. I hope she has taken some shooting courses and can handle that collection. That revolver looks like a 45 and must have some kick. Any clue or hint of address ,work, frequented places , friends , etc you feel comfortable sharing is OK understandably .We can remove his ‘ tool , knees, noggin , whole package forever . Thank God he only represents a minute portion of the population , most of US are good and it sounds like you are surround by them ?   I wish you were right that only a minute portion of the population would hurt a child. You may want to just take a look at megans law website. It will show you all the registered sex offenders in California in your hometown.
  I was molested as a a child at about 3 until I was 17 years old. I am not afraid to talk about it and have found that almost everyone I know has been molested and had an encounter with a molestor.

My wife had been victimzed by her father as well from the time she was 5 until 13. I met her when she was 15 back in 1990. We got married in ’93 and have been married for almost 20 years. She still carries the scars that ran deep. Her dad kept a major power hold over her, as well as her brother and mother. When she finally said something it was when he left her mom to take off with some younger women, who happen to have a young daughter, my wife did not want it to happen again, so at 20 she pressed charges. Sadly, he only had to do weekends in jail for a few months and then some community service. But he was marked as a sex offender for life. At least others will hopefully stay safe from him. Some who know him says he has changed, but we don’t take the chance and want nothing to do with him.

i cannot begin to understand what motivates such a monster that would do that to a child.
i cannot begin to fathom why someone would make up such monstrous accusations if not true.

i hope no one else has been victimized if true, and that Brie manages to truly put the dark past to bed and find a means to trust again. and if a hoax, i hope the troubled mind that is willing to make such a drama finds help.

taking her at her word, i am impressed that she has moved on, but hope her ‘sharing herself’ on You Tube is not somehow a perverse need to expose more of herself to anyone and everyone than is healthy or safe.

  Nobody in my wife’s family knew that her dad was sexually abusing her from the time she was 5-13 until it came out when she was twenty. Don’t jump to judgements when you have no idea what really going on. You do not know what it is like, and have no idea the pain the young people go through hiding due to fear and undeserved shame.

If they aren’t on that list, they must not be a sex offender.   Dude, did you watch the video? She’s making it public for the first time. That’s the whole point of this story. We don’t know if she’s telling the truth or not. That remains to be seen. CORPSMAN is right, though. Usually child rape victims don’t speak out until they are older and a given event triggers the confession.

Wow, that will be an inspiration to victims all over. It happens too often that a relative does this crime. They threaten harm to someone the victim loves or tell them no one will believe them. This is more than a sex crime, it is a mental crime. This video shows the impact it still has on her. Don’t ever think someone will get over it. They don’t. They just compartmentalize it and never forget.

  The video shows an allegation. I’d like to see real proof like her mother, friends and family or even those who knew this family at all. Someone who can say hey she lost all her teeth over night or i noticed things that weren’t right. I don’t jump on bandwagons. I know some pretty good actors for attention. to be honest I can’t tell this apart from things my younger step brother has done when he was younger becuse he wants something or didnt’get his way or lost his computer because he was in trouble.(all the way to cliaming child abuse) I want evidence and there is none in this video.
