Girl tells soldier: “I’ll smash your head!”

A video captured on Friday in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh unintentionally unmasked the way some Palestinians manipulate the media to broadcast unflattering images of Israeli soldiers. A young girl along with two other children spent many long minutes screaming and pushing IDF soldiers in an apparent attempt to provoke them into responding violently.

Disturbingly, they were egged on by two older teenage girls and, according to Israel’s Channel 2, were encouraged by one girl’s mother who filmed the entire episode even while she was inciting the kids.

Channel 2 reports this mother was filming and inciting the children.

The girl shouts at the soldiers in Arabic: “You’re a traitor! I know you speak Arabic. Our soldiers are stronger than you! I’ll smash your head.” Continuing her tirade until she’s practically hoarse, she screams: “I spit in your face. Go watch your mother instead of fighting little children. You’re a traitor. You kill people to get money from dogs.”

The staging of events or “fauxtography” is such a commonly used tactic by the Palestinians and their supporters, it’s earned the nickname “Pallywood” in the Israeli press. Pictures are often posted on various blogs and Facebook with no context or reality check provided. As TheBlaze reported in February, a photo alleging to show an Israeli soldier brutally pointing his weapon at and placing his foot on the chest of a little Palestinian girl turned out to be actors in a street theater performance in Bahrain. These photos can have enormous impact on the public’s views about Israel.

Case in point: as of this writing, the latest video has been viewed by more than 60,000.

On Friday, the soldiers stood calmly and let the kids vent at them and push then, even smiling in response. Present were numerous photographers along with other protesters. At one point, solders appear to fire a smoke grenade to disperse them, but it didn’t seem to make much of an impression on the gathered and all remained on site.

The video provided such a clear example of media manipulation, IDF Spokeswoman Avital Leibovich even posted it on her Twitter feed, describing the scene as “Using Palestinian kids for provocations.”

A senior IDF official told Ynet News that pro-Palestinian activists pay Palestinian children to confront Israeli soldiers.

In response, Abir Kubati, a protest organizer, told Ynet: “I don’t understand what the army wants – they send soldiers into a Palestinian village and then dare to depict themselves as victims because the residents don’t welcome them.”

Kubati says the girl was upset because her brother had been “detained by the soldiers, very violently, only minutes before.”

There’s more to this story. Pro-Israel blogger Aussie Dave of the site Israelly Cool who calls the girl “Pallywood Blondie” found that she’s been the star of other videos and photos like this one a few months ago:

And despite the fact there is no proof the soldier hurt or injured the girl, the photo elicits bonus sympathy points for her since she is wearing a “love” t-shirt and looks like a westerner.

Fast forward a few months, and blondie makes a reappearance.

Notice she’s wearing the same “love” t-shirt, but seems to be sporting for a fight. She hardly seems scarred by her previous experience.

Arutz 7 quotes an IDF source who says: “We make every effort not to fall for such traps, to exercise restraint and to use only crowd-control measures to disperse such protests.”

      @Cesium… then if a doctor tells you, your brother the addict will die because of a heroine addiction, the doctor is a murderer? Regardless of your beliefs can you see the logic, or in actuality the lack thereof, in your statement. To know something is different than causing something. That would be like blaming the pilot of a news helicopter for an accident because he can be heard saying, “oh… oh… oh…” Right before the impact.

      @Repenty I’m not sure I understand your analogy. Before Ishmael was created his nature was pre-determined. How about instead of his nature being as a wild ass, he will instead be wise and promote peace and tranquility between everyone. But, if you prefer to stir the pot and be evil like god, sure, make two opposing sides and have them hate each other and fight for eternity. Brilliant!

    the IDF needs to hand out soccer balls and other toys to the kids and run a targeted IO campaign. Be ready for the set up with the soccer balls, then you could use that against Hamas and Hezbollah.

      Agreed. The only solution to this is exactly what is being threatened against Israelis…I say put every one of these people down that confronts the IDF. Kid or not, if they strike you, its an attack. Children are used in war all the time, they’re soldiers, and with enough of them just disappearing, maybe others will be scared to attack others.

      Besides, we all know what this is building to. Why wait for the dog to bite before putting it down? It’s a rabid animal.

      Having visited Israel in the 1990s, I knew that the Islamic suicide bombers would be cosmetically enhanced to look like westerners and drugged so they were less inhibited to to kill themselves amongst others.

Her parents (mother) should be arrested and give this little kid something to be mad about. In reality Israeli soldiers have acted with restraint in all of the fake area caled palestine.

    I believe that falls under the definition of child abuse… knowingly putting your child into harm’s way unnecessarily.

    where’s the UN to protect these children from their PARENTS, as clearly the IDF were NOT reacting in the way the women were hoping (?) hurting their children.

    When you see this at the level of mothers and their children, the indoctrination has been extreme… Mothers are supposed to protect their children. Too many generations listening to the wafflers acting like the ‘Palestinians’ (there is no country… and the grudging moves to create one have been one sided (Israel) and the potential recipients have accepted only the title of a state while trying to claim the desert the Israelis and like minded ‘palestinians’ have created together) are the victims.

    They were victims when Israel was created and the Egyptians and Syrians refused to take them in. That blame does not lie with Israel. And when they throw their kids at soldiers NOT behaving aggressively they are clearly the aggressors here. But any thinking rational person knows that… IDF attacks have been responses to the random terrorism by the Palestinian terrorists… if we can react after the Trade Center buildings were destroyed, they have just as much right to protect their citizens.

    Get those kids out of there. The rest can reap what they have sowed.

    All the more reason to VOTE

      I watched this yesterday on BNI. I am always impressed with the Israeli soldiers and was again with the restraint they showed while this girl ranted and raved. Their smiles at her antics sent her hissy fit into high gear but the IDF does have honor, even toward little terrorists in the making like this child.
